TAKE 40: THE USED REVEAL THE TITLE TRACK ON THE ‘NEW MOON’ SOUNDTRACK

We told you back in July that The Used mentioned they were recording a song for New Moon. Now, Take 40 has an exclusive interview with Bert McCracken of The Used. Bert revealed in his interview that The Used will have the song, For You I Would, on the New Moon soundtrack, and the song is set to be the title track:

Publicity for the Twilight sequel New Moon is heating up as the film’s release date, November 19, creeps closer. *squeals excitedly*

take40.com reported this morning that Death Cab For Cutie will have the lead single for the New Moon soundtrack, a song titled ‘Meet Me On The Equinox’.

But we have some more exciting New Moon goss!

When we spoke to Bert McCracken of The Used yesterday, he revealed that a new song of theirs entitled ‘For You I Would’ was set to be the title track!

“It’s gonna be a big deal,” Bert told take40.com. “We wrote a really awesome original song for the movie.”

Bert also said that former Nine Inch Nails musician Danny Lohner produced the track.

Well this is exciting news! I can’t wait until we get the chance to hear this song, I already love Meet Me On The Equinox by Death Cab For Cutie.

    OMG!!! Chris Weitz, you are the man! I wonder if Taylor Lautner suggested that The Used be on this soundtrack? He’s a fan of theirs. Anyway, man, we can’t go wrong with DCFC and The Used… now if Muse is definitely on board… we are going to have one helluva soundtrack! It’s going to be A*W*E*S*O*M*E!!!!

    I don’t know the band, but I’m sure that it will fit. I have yet to listen to the Death Cab song, I’m waiting for the movie, that would be awesome! I want the first time I hear it to be in the theater at midnight!

    If none of you have heard of the used, they have really awesome music and I would suggest looking it up. Some of their best songs are:

    Blue and Yellow
    Pretty Handsome Awkward
    The Bird and the Worm
    Empty With You
    Blood On My Hands
    Box Full of Sharp Objects
    Take It Away
    All That I’ve Got
    On My Own
    I Caught Fire
    The Taste of Ink, and
    Buried Myself Alive

    they’re not on the soundtrack so i am confused…
    but i cannot wait to hear this song, it will be amazing.
    dcfc – meet me on the equinox – is starting to grow on me but so far decode is a better song (no i’m not a paramore fan, i just prefer the song lyrically and vocally).
    and maybe some saw 2 fans may have heard a tiny clip of the used – sound effects and overdramatics (one of my personal favourites)… or just on the soundtrack. i’d also check out that song if you’re into lots of scream.
    i’m not too pleased with either of the twilight soundtracks (first and second) and i hope the used aren’t going to be known as ‘the band that produced a song for new moon’, they do have a BIG fan base with gold/platinum selling albums and dvds. people seem to forget that though, the same did happen with muse and now i think radio/tv have over-played some of their best songs… shame.
