TALKING PICTURES: NEW INTERVIEWS WITH THE TWILIGHT CAST

Posted November 11th, 2008 By: Team Switzerland 6 Comments »

Tony Toscano, the host of the nationally syndicated TV show “Talking Pictures”, recently sat down with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Rachelle Lefevre, Cam Gigandet, and Edi Gathegi from Twilight.

Here is Kristen’s interview:

I love how in Kristen’s interview she says how Bella is so likable because we project ourselves onto her character since that’s who we experience the story through. I think that’s a very well thought out statement and it’s very true to a certain extent.

What did you think of these interviews? Did you agree with Kristen as to why Bella is so likable?

No, i didnt like Bella and i don’t really think she is that likeable.
I loved Robs interview as always!

I disagree. Althought perhaps a little needy, because of her clumsiness, I like Bella, and I think the majority of the people I know who have read “Twilight-Breaking Dawn” identify with her, on some level.

For me, it’s the never seeing herself clearly. It wasn’t, really, until my husband proposed that I saw myself as everyone else sees me, etc. And, yes, there is the clumsiness, although I am NO WHERE near as clutzy. Lol

There would be no story without Bella.

Thats the beauty of Bellas character. She starts out very unsure of who she is, searching for her purpouse in life. She even extracates herself from the only home she’s ever known. Thats such frail vulnerability that it has to make you strong. In Twilight, Edward says to her, “You put on a good show. I bet your suffering more then you let on.” He was right! I love how she grows to the strong Bella in Breaking Dawn, saving the day. She sacrafices her own life to keep Edward, her body for her daughter and gives everything she has to keep it from being destroyed. Thats strength!

in terms of bella, i think it takes strength and courage to put yourself out there for love. it makes me laugh a litle when i read “reviews” where they say that she’s so needy, weak and codependent… there’s a difference between interdependence and codependence. she and edward are made for eachother and she realizes and accepts that early on. she’s willing to risk “losing” her singleness to gain what she feels is true – being with him. if that makes sense. as for kristin, she’s so wonderfully articulate and analytical. her answers manage to be well thought out and deep yet spontaneous at the same time. she impresses me.

I completely agree w/ Kerri and Rochelle. This was a really great interview, I thought, and I agree w/Kristen that Bella’s likeable b/c we project ourselves onto her character since that’s who we experience the story through, like you said. I love that Kristen’s always really passionate about her roles and she really understood Bella IMO.
