TARGET: ‘TWILIGHT’ DVD 3-DISC DELUXE EDITION

Wow, they really need to stop coming out with these new DVDs. I’m gonna end up getting three different DVDs. The Collectors Edition, the one with the cell phone cover, and this one! Gosh, they make it so hard to choose one, and they probably do it one purpose so they can make more money, because twilight fans (like us) will buy every copy there is! I really don’t know how many more DVDs there’s gonna be, but hopefully this will be the last, I mean the collectors is 60.00-65.00$ by it’s self. Well I’m gonna keep my decision, I’m getting the one I really want, the collectors. Hmph, it really is annoying though.

i’m ordering two twilight dvds (one to watch over and over and another one to just have) and i only ordered one plain dvd from borders figuring that Target would come out with something like this, i guess i was right lol

DUDE, ENOUGH WITH THE “SPECIAL EDITION” DVD VERSIONS! This is exactly the kind of greedy act on the part of the studio to make money off of us. Every version ends up “one-upping” the other in some minute way: first it’s collectors cards…then it’s not 2 CDs – it’s THREE…Perhaps the only good thing about the Target version is the free iTunes download (that would allow people to see the bonus 2 hours that you would get from iTunes), but seriously? Stop milking Twilighters for every penny! Too many choices.

ANOTHER ONE? i know, no one is telling me to buy every copy. but.. but.. but.. every edition is different. i ALSO want to see their feature of “Becoming Edward” and “Becoming Bella”.. i already ordered the special edition 2 disc and ultimate collector’s edition blu-ray (both from amazon) AND the collector’s edition dvd from borders. that’s already 3.. and now this? this will be my fourth. maybe i will just give 1 copy as a gift to a friend since i can’t cancel it anymore. can’t cancel an item from amazon if it’s ordered with another item. *sigh*

why doesn’t EVERY STORE in the world just make its own ‘SPECIAL EDITION’ of the movie! -.-..

there just doing this coz they know twilight is a sure way to make some quick cash… -.- GAH! (unless this is just some plan to get out of the whole recession crisis =P)

That’s not that bad….Of course, I’ll be getting it!! I already have the one at FYE on reserve, and so it’s not surprising they’d put out another version. It reminds me of how HIM had many versions of their album Dark Light, which I own all versions! HIM is my favorite band, by the way, so being such a HUGE HIM fan, I HAD to get all versions of the album.

I will more than likely buy this one and have it shipped to my house since the closest target is an hour away. I like the fact it has the Itunes download on it so i can watch it at work on my laptop without having to have the dvds with me.

This is just getting absurd. That’s just all I can say about it.

Sigh…first, I preorder the DVD from Amazon and then the Border’s edition comes out. So, I cancel Amazon and then order with Border’s…but now Target?! 3 discs?! and the free iTunes download?! Looks like I’m going to have to cancel another order! Geez…like everyone else, I really wish they’d stop putting all the “Special Editions” out there…because really, how many versions of the same movie do we need to own anyway?

Damn this sucks! And the worst part is that if you wait just a few months even more special editions will pop up. Just wait for the price to go down cause you know it will eventually!

I bought the Border’s one because it had the awesomest box. And about the free iTunes version, there is a way to get the movie off the REGULAR dvd. That’s what I’ll do

But for anyone having trouble picking a DVD just remember this basic thing: They all come with the same bonus features its just what the dvd COMES with. Like Border’s has the photo cards and Hot Topic has the film cell, etc.

Or just buy the one with the coolest box!

Wow, wonder if this is similar to the one someone mentioned from HMV? I was under the impression it was foreign and not available in the states, the description mentioned Edward and the piano.

I think they should put everything that has been offered into one package because people will end up with how many copies of the movie. I like to buy 2 copies but I have saw at the very least 4 different movie sets with different stuff on them. I can’t afford all of that. It is so hard to choose which one I want to buy.

Can someone answer me? Arent there the deleted scenes and behind the scenes in 3 disc deluxe edition?? Cos all i want is see those scenes..So Which one am i supposed to buy?? Please help me!

seriously i just pre-ordered from borders and theres was the 2disc dvd..10 movie pics and soundtrack download for $39 which sounds like a great deal until you find out that if you ordered after feb2 you wont get the dvd till april…wtf? so like michaela i might have to buy the one that comes out on the 21st and wait till april for my “special edition” ugh

It’s the new version of POGS! Gotta get them all or you’ll feel like your collection just isn’t complete. Next time Rob cuts his hair he should let them sell that for charity. $25 a strand! haha!

… Seriously, how many versions of the DVD will be out before March 21st??? I have just checked and Target does not ship internationally… So I do not even bother. Plus I could not even download the bonus available on iTunes as it is for the US market… so no luck for a Swiss girl…

Someone should do an analysis of all the various DVDs available, which have which features and add-ins, etc. Like a grid.

I’m sick of all these versions!!! I knew this would happen though! I’ve been waiting as long as I can to pre-order in case a new version came out that I like better. I’ll be getting this instead of the Borders one now…I like the box better, and it’s got that free download. Not like I can’t rip the movie from the dvd onto my computer and convert it for my ipod…but it’s easier to just this and use the free download. This better be the last freaking version!! I’m getting a little frustrated!!

This is insane but then so am I and I preordered anyway. Now I’ll be getting the Target and the Hot Topic one, plus I plan on going to Border’s the day it’s released and getting that special edition, you know, so I don’t have to wait a few extra days for the other two to arrive. Holy cow! I pre-ordered the iTunes download, the Target 3-disc version and now you’re telling me there’s a Collector’s Edition?? The greed of the studios to feed off of our obsession is never ending and I might add, mind-boggling. As I’m grumbling and debating whether or not to order that Collector’s Edition, I can only hope that Stephanie and our fabulous cast are at least getting some of the fruits of our obsession. Now I have to go take a serious look at the budget; pay the electric bill or order that Collctor’s Edition…must pay the rent though-need a roof over my head to watch the blasted things…LOL

This is like the HMV version I preordered. I hope the HMV one comes with the free iTunes download because I want to watch it on my iPod too! And even though I have like 3 programs on my computer that let me rip DVDs for my iPod, the quality of the rip isn’t always that great.

Target’s Blu-ray edition will now have all the same bonus content as this. It comes with a second disc (DVD format) and the iTunes download all for $26.99. I’ve decided to go with this one. I’m hoping it will be available in Target stores on release day because I’d rather not pay extra for shipping if I don’t have to, much less have to wait longer for it to arrive.

It’s called MARKETING people. And I, for one, think it’s BRILLIANT! I am in total AWE of their marketing department. Talk about vampires being perfect predators, these guys have got it all over them. Everything about the Twilight products draws you in. You’ve just GOT to have it. It all appeals to you on multiple levels. Don’t get me wrong, even knowing that it works on me too. I’ve ordered three different versions of the movie and I check several fan sites daily to keep up with New Moon. Just face it, Twilight is an addiction and all these “versions” of the DVD are EXACTLY our kind of heroin!

i canceled my amazon for borders and now i get more options? ugh.

personally, i still think that the borders one is better. it comes with extra features as well, the box is collectors edition, and it comes with the sparkly pictures.
the only reason i would get this one would be for the itunes download so i could watch it on my iphone, but there are softwares to convert dvds to mp4 so i’ll just do that instead.
as for the rest of the special features target is offering…

Im debating on the target or the borders one..im not sure which extras i prefer…dam its soo hard 2 choose!

This is soooo frustrating! I already pre-ordered my copy thru Borders because I thought that was the best version, but I am second guessing it. I wish they would make all the extras available on their own dvd then we could buy that instead of buying all their different copies. But nooo they wouldn’t do that because they wouldn’t make enough money! Ugh.

I’ll probably get the 3-disc one. I like it. Does it come out on the same day though? …Hmmm…. Guess it won’t matter much anywho… I’ll be at art school all day….. Maybe AFTER……..

I ordered the regular DVD with Borders and will get the Target BluRay copy since it has the “Becoming Edward/Bella” and the kissing scene like the regular 3 disc edition.

If you’re looking for Blu-Ray released on March 21st, only Target and BestBuy have that honor. Though I have to point out that I initially pre-ordered the blu-ray through BestBuy.com and I got an e-mail shortly after stating that their release date changed to May 5th. Not sure if this is only for pre-orders or if it also applies to in-store sale of the blu-ray… I cancelled my order and decided to pre-order with Target.com. Target is offering the same Deluxe Edition with the i-tune download, only it’s on 2 discs instead (since Blu-ray holds more info.) Best Buy is only offering the regular blu-ray, no bonus stuff. Blu-ray will be available everywhere else on May 5th, including Amazon.com’s crazy “Ultimate Collector’s Set” that comes with blu-ray dvd, motion picture soundtrack, individually numbered jewelry box, watch, charm bracelet, photo cards, bookmark, certificate of authenticity all for $79.99 (a bit too much for me personally). Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if Borders or Target will be offering the special editions in Blu-ray versions? I haven’t pre-ordered anything, because I’m waiting for one of these special editions to come out in Blu-Ray. I’m thinking that I want the Target one, since it seems to be the only one that has the “vampire kiss” montage and “Bella’s lullaby remix music video” – which I hope means its the version that Robert wrote. Does anyone know the answer to that? I remember that Catherine said in an interview that one of the special features on the DVD might be a video of Rob playing his version of ‘Bella’s Lullaby’. Of course, no one was talking about the “cluster-#@*%” of multiple special editions at the time. Very frustrating.

It doesn’t surprise me, I’m actually more surprised that Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, and Books-A-Million don’t have exclusives either (atleast not ones they’re listing online yet). The movie was such a pop culture hit, they want to try and give customers incentives to buy them at their store instead, and the movie studios give different exclusives to multiple stores to entice shoppers to buy more than one. that being said, I’ll probably end up getting the Borders and Target ones, since those are the only exclusives worth getting really

It looks like the 3 DVD set HMV Canada is getting. Americans should be lucky that Target.com ships at all. HMV.ca stopped shipping anywhere (even within Canada) acouple of years ago.. The site is only good to check if the item is in stock at your local HMV.

guy’s just want to say get the borders it has more stuff the pics are great i got mine i love it and even the over its a better deal and you get everything theres a little hideing thing in the movie to where the menu is but you have to find that your self lol

i am another one who was extremely annoyed with all these different versions of the dvd. it really is uncool how many there are because of the different things each comes with. i would boycott them all for the company’s exploitation of our money if i didn’t love the movie so damn much! Almost every store should offer all or at least most of the various versions of the dvd, so that you don’t buy one and then find another that is better, and then buy that one as well. then you can pick and choose which one you prefer easily. or there should have been just 2 different versions of the dvd. is there even a regular version??? so far as i know there isn’t a regular one. I bought the one from hot topic first for the film cell, then i saw that borders had a deluxe edition, and they called the 2 disc special edition the regular edition! and I got that one as well. then just today, i look at the target ad, and what do i find??? I find yet another version of the movie!!! i do not want to buy another twilight dvd but like many others i am curious about this third disc that target offers. sigh* yeah i’m very annoyed!

I got the 2 disc from Blockbuster…. then I found out the next day that the Target 3 disc has a scene from Midnight Sun! ( I saw a blurry image of it on Youtube) So I ordered that one too!
