TEEN VOGUE: MEET THE TWILIGHT CAST
Teen Vogue has posted an exclusive video with the Twilight cast. They talk to Robert Pattinson (Edward), Kristen Stewart (Bella), Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Kellan Lutz (Emmett), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper), and Ashley Greene (Alice) about their characters and why the story of Twilight is so unique.
And Teen Vogue also has their own “Twilight Guide” which includes exclusive interviews with the cast. To view their guide, click here.

In the video, Kristen and Nikki talk about Bella’s character and how she has such a strong pull and there is something about her that is so well liked, but they can’t exactly put their finger on it. I know in Breaking Dawn we got a better idea of how strong Bella is, but I think everyone has a differing opinion as to why she’s so likable.
What do YOU think it is about Bella that makes her so special and unique?

I actually LOVED this interview!!! How awesome that we finally get to hear from Jackson?!?! Don’t get me wrong, I adore RPattz as much as the next overly-obsessed Twilighter, but Jackson is so cute, and Jasper is such a fascinating character, it’s nice to hear from him, too!!!
As for what it is that makes Bella so likable, I think a lot of it has to do with the way she sees herself. She doesn’t take herself too seriously and she has an awesome sense of humor (without sarcasm, my life would be nothing…) and she doesn’t realize that she’s beautiful or smart. She can’t fathom why Edward would ever possibly be interested in her, and I think a lot of girls can connect to that feeling of unworthiness, and I also know that humility is an amazing characteristic and Bella has it in spades. People adore her because she doesn’t think or realize that she IS adorable. I hope that made sense…it makes sense in my head, but my head can be a scary place at times….
It was great to hear from Ashley and Kellan and Nikki. I think Kellan is right with the chemistry between the cast - which really makes me feel good for the next movies!
Bella is real. She isn’t a Barbie-wanna-be, she’s what we all kind of feel like at times, clumsy, out of place, an outsider. She is drawn to Edward because he is so different from anyone she’s ever known. She cares so much for her family, and is sensitive to all the feelings of the people that surround her. She doesn’t try to be something that she’s not! That is why I think people are drawn to her, she’s not fake, and she is a sincerely good person. Who wouldn’t want a friend like that?
Okay, there are A LOT of times that Bella gets on my nerves from the series, Twilight-Eclipse. But SHE IS a strong character, I like that she’s average and at the same time she’ll take risks, so I do like her as a chracter. I think that Kristen Stewart will do a good job of making Bella a stronger character and I’ll see a new side to Bella and I’ll like her more.
Bella changes SO much in Breaking Dawn, and I can safely say that she was one of my favorite chracters at that point. She’s so much stronger, and it’s exactly like they said in the book, she was MADE to become a vampire, she was MADE for that world.
Poor Kristen hasn’t read the rest of the books, yet, so she can’t nail it that Bella DOES become the “queen” of the vampires. But Kristen my dear, if you think your character is strong now… she’s super woman by Breaking Dawn!
i loved what Nikki Reed said “how do you love from a distance” I think that pretty much sums up Edward and Bella’s relationship . This interview was , what i believe, to be one of the best . You can tell that all of the actors are having such a hard time describing Bella and Edward’s “bond” with each-other . I agree with Tippy . I think that what made Bella so … likable to the Cullens and Edward , was how she saw herself . She thought that she was no more than an average girl who , somehow , had the most perfect “man” come into her life , and love her as if she was the most precious thing in the universe . Bella has her own self-image of herself , and I love how in Stephenie Meyer’s writing , that she always made clear all of the complications between Bella and Edward . I’m 100% positive Roberta and Kristen will be able to portray all of the emotions between Edward and Bella . That may not make sense , but it’s just how I am seeing it in my cramped mind
This interview is one of the best ones I’ve seen. They all seem relaxed and comfortable. I like that they interact so well with each other off the set. I’m certain it will reflect onscreen as well.
Bella is special in many ways. My favorite characteristic is that she is so unselfish, almost to a fault. Edward gets on her about this - how she’s always worrying about others before worrying about herself. But it was her first act of unselfishness that leads her to her fantastic life known as the Twilight Saga. In being kind to her mom, letting her “off the hook” and risking a possible miserable existence in Forks, she was rewarded with love, friendship, adventure…Bella has a beautiful and kind heart.
I really love to hear from Jackson. He’s so funny and cute! I love Alice and Jasper. Next to Bella and Edward their my favorite. I always kind of wished Jasper had more dialouge. He was such an interesting character, a deep person with alot to offer. But his self doubt in his ability to abstain from human blood was such an interesting twist for Stephanie to write. In eclipse I love Jaspers chapter, Major Jasper Whitlock, Ma’am.
