2008 TEENS’ TOP TEN NOMINEES – ECLIPSE

Young Adult Library Services Association is hosting a teens’ top 10 book list. The 2008 Teens’ Top Ten includes Eclipse this year. YALSA is part of the American Library Association and they explain how it works below:

Teens’ Top Ten is a “teen choice” list, where teens nominate and choose their favorite books of the previous year! Nominators are members of teen book groups in fifteen school and public libraries around the country.

If you read nominated books throughout the year, you’ll be ready to vote for your favorites during Teen Read Week, October 12 – 18, 2008. Readers aged twelve to eighteen can vote right here, online, anytime that week.

In 2006 Twilight won 2nd place and in 2007 New Moon won 1st place. What a great honor for Stephenie. It’s always a good thing when you get teens to read. Hopefully the younger fans will help her win first place again. Do you think Eclipse should be the winner? If so, why? If not, why?

    OME Eclipse has GOT to win- EVERYONE (within the age group, obviously) had better vote 4 Eclipse! (wow, that sounds threatening doesnt it? sorry, i really didnt mean it to come across like that- i was rereading this and i was like, “whoa, that sounded extremely mean.” all i really meant was that i HOPE everyone votes 4 Eclipse b/c that would be really awesome). its gonna be really tough 4 Eclipse to win though, b/c its gotta go up against HP and the DH, but i personally would pick Eclipse over HP any day- not saying i didnt love HP, but really, I prefer Eclipse a million times over. Wow, HP and Twilight competing once again- I really do hate that, b/c the constant comparing of the books always kind of bothers me, b/c i agree w/Stephenie Meyer- they really are NOTHING alike- completely different genres and completely different styles of writing. However, this is one instance in which i REALLY want Eclipse to win- i just think it would be SO COOL if Eclipse beat HP in this contest (or whatever you want to call it). So, calling all eligible Twilight fans- PLEASE vote 4 Eclipse when the time comes- I know i will.

    Yes, I think Eclipse is worthy to be a winner. After Twilight, in my opinion, it is the best book in the series!

    Eclipse is possibly my absolute favorite of the series. Although, Midnight Sun runs a verty tight second with the possiblity of being my fave WHEN it is finsished!!

    I think Eclipse was a very, very good book. But Twilight and New Moon I believe were MUCH better then Eclipse. They by far deserved first and second. As far as Eclipse..even if it’s placed in Ten it would be awesome! I do believe it should be placed between 1-5 though..but hey thats my opinion!!
