TMF COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO TWILIGHT PART 1
THEMOVIEFANATIC.COM has a comprehensive guide to Twilight - Part 1 of a two part series. Part 1 covers the early beginnings and then fast forwards to 2008 with casting, fandom, Stephenie and more. Here are some excerpts:
The Author - Stephenie Meyer
Stephenie Meyer sounds like most novelists - she is happy to provide details about her books and the characters she created, and to explain how these characters, the result of a dream and later sustained by her vivid imagination, actually represent a part of her identity and personality.
Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight is quite a revelation. It’s not exclusively for women or young girls for that matter. Bella is an interesting and charming character. There is something about her that would make any man take a second glance and come to her rescue, as Edward Cullen did. But she is not powerless nor does she need others to take care of her. She is fiercely independent and while she has her vulnerable side, she is also determined and fearless at times.Vampires are supposed to be dark and malevolent creatures who hunt humans for food, but in Twilight this romantic angle made vampires almost like humans.
In a way, it was Ms. Meyer’s intention to portray Bella as simply as that - someone who might be considered a wimp. But once you get over the issues of physical clumsiness and so on, you will agree that Bella is also a courageous and fearless human being. How could she even imagine marrying a vampire if she is a spineless teenager? How could she be a weakling when she deals with both werewolves and vampires? While critics may question the seemingly impossible transformation of a wimpy girl into a romantic heroine, is it really that hard to believe? Vampires are fictitious characters in the first place, isn’t it? This is supposedly a fantasy-romance novel right? So why all the fuss?A major factor in the movie’s success will be how realistically Kristen and Rob are able to play the two lead characters. Their on-screen chemistry could either disappoint and drive fans away or put them into a frenzy. In the book, Kristen’s character is considered to be its soul. Twilight fans who have read the book numerous times will have high expectations regarding how Bella should be portrayed on the big screen. It will be a first to watch a leading lady without too many ‘star’ qualities and complications. Finally, a realistic young female character with flaws just like any ordinary teen gets to be the heroine!
In this section Jacob and all the Cullens are mentioned.
Impressive, highly-absorbing news and coverage, with a sense of what’s important and what’s not. Twilighters Anonymous for me is relatively new, but it has overtaken many of the more established sites because of one important factor- they are opinionated and they are fearless in expressing what’s on their mind. What would you do if a fansite only reports news? With more than 100 fansites, you need to standout from the rest, and Twilighters Anonymous made sure they are unique.Standout Qualities: Awesome site features- an Interactive quiz, absorbing and highly engaging news and articles, a Twilipedia, Gallery and a forum. With user-friendly navigation and layout, definitely one of the most impressive Twilight sites today.

I think this may be my favorite guide so far. It’s obvious Jed likes Twilight and I appreciate his insight into the characters. I can’t wait for Part 2. What do you think of TMF’s Guide? Is it fair to the cast and Stephenie? Was there anything he left out?
