tMF - PART 3 - COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO TWILIGHT
tMF.com - The final chapter to the Comprehensive Guide to Twilight. This one covers fan fiction and the best foreign Twilight sites. (WARNING: Sexually explicit material may be included (he quotes from fan fiction stories) Not suitable for minors!!).
In Part One of tMF’s Twilight Comprehensive Guide, we covered the basics. In Part Two, we discussed the controversial issues. In this final installment, we go beyond the book and the movie and look at how Twilight has expanded into a Fandom not only based in America but all over and feature a host of international Twilight communities and fansites, plus an ever-growing collection of fan fiction.Introduction to Fan Fiction: Of Fan Fiction and Being a Twilight Fanatic: Reading a book is a personal journey. It you’re lucky, a few pages and you’re travelling through time and space - you get to meet new friends and make nasty, naughty enemies, you go to far-off places so rich in history you can almost taste it. You learn history itself, listen to the philosophical issues of the times, admire paintings done by the Masters, or you might just be somewhere ahead of the present, and enjoying the latest trend, fashion and style. But most of all, you get to see the world in an entirely different light.

As a reader, you might sometimes get this feeling of a sense of ‘protectiveness’ - of the characters and of the story. Why do fans feel strongly about a certain character, scene or dialogue perhaps? It’s hard enough to compromise one’s vision of a story, let alone discover that what you’re about to read clearly departs from the way you first imagined it to be. A fan fiction either follows the original story and remains faithful to it or departs and takes readers to an entirely different universe. tMF took sometime to read a diverse list of fanfiction stories, enjoyed a lot of them, got bored and shocked with a couple, and came up with five highly recommended stories you ought to read!
Jed goes on to quote from specific fan fiction stories and then he lists a few of the best fan fiction web sites. If you’re into fan fiction, definitely check it out.
Next he goes over the top foreign Twilight sites. Wow - there are a lot of foreign sites - Philippines, Brazil, Slovenia, Singapore, Germany, Spain. Are you bilingual? Do you visit an American site as well as a foreign Twilight site?
(thanks flick)
I haven’t been too much into fan fiction. (the one exception is the story “Echo” from TA forum member Kaly - I really dig her writing). I think I may have to take some time and go through Jed’s suggestions. I might find another fan fiction that I really like. Are you into fan fiction? Did the guide cover the best places for fan fiction? Or are there ones he left out?
How about foreign Twilight sites - are those the top ones? Do you agree with his list?

OME! I looooove fan fiction! Im an author of Potter and Twilight fan fics. Theres somthing juicy and exciting about manipulating an already layed out world to create new situations, new plots. You can even span out a characters personality, bring them to life, like Rosalie and Emmett. It’s invigerating, it really is. My favorite fics are about how Edward and Bella get to a certain situation between books. For instance, what happened between Twilight and New moon to make Edward go back on his promise, there had to be some undelying problems/caution besides Jaspers freakout. Somthing built it up and thats where fan fiction authours can take you. Try it, it’s soooo much fun!
