TOP TEN TUESDAYS – TOP TEN ‘TWILIGHT’/VAMPIRE T.V. MENTIONS

It seems like everywhere you turn nowadays there’s some sort of hidden Twilight or vampire reference somewhere. The references have inevitably delved into the movie and T.V. world and fairly often we’re noticing a mention of Bella here or Edward there. So in this week’s edition of Top Ten, we’re counting down ten of the top Twilight/Vampire T.V. mentions. We’ve even included links to as many of the TV mentions as possible so in the event that you missed it, you can catch it here!

So for this week’s edition of Top Ten Tuesday, TA Staffer Emmy brings us:

10. X Factor:

    I believe the Damon Salvatore quote is “Because I live in the real world where Vampires burn in the sun.” not “live in the sun”. When asked why he doesn’t burn in the sunlight, he mentions the ring he wears.

    There was one Twilight mention in Greek a couple weeks ago – Rebecca Logan gets flowers from a “secret admirer” (they’re just from someone she paid to send her flowers) and the card is signed EC, and all the girls in her sorority are asking who EC is and someone says “(gasp) Edward Cullen!!” and then Ashleigh says “No, he’s a fictitious character.”

    total buzzkill hahahaha.

    Totally loved the Vampire Diaries “twilight” reference, esp. because everyone is so bent on comparing the two series. I find it amusing that (as much as people say that Twilight is over exposed) SO many shows are including it in their pop culture references. People can say what they want, but no one can deny that Twilight is MAJOR. =)

    I think it’s great TV shows mention Twilight, the more it get’s out there and mentioned the more people will find out how great all that is Twilight is… Plus I am sick of trying to explain to some ignoramus people who still ask “What’s Twilight?” when I utterly gush about it, LOL…

    #6 Ten Things I Hate About You: it’s actually referring to The Vampire Diaries, not Twilight. Elena is the one who write in her journal/diary every night. fix please :)

    A few episodes ago on House (last week?) Wilson says to House “I am Vampire, Sookie” Not a Twilight reference, but I still cracked up! I’ve read all the Southern Vampire series books…but that may be a TrueBlood reference.

    LOL that Greek mention was so funny. Supernatural and The Vampire diaries ones are funny too. Love it.

    People will continously compare Twilight and Vampire Diaries. Both have “hot actors”. Vampire Diaries is more about traditional vampires. Twilight vamps don’t even have fangs, but that’s ok. They make up for it with their “good looks”. Any Twilight fan will succumb to it. I read that some people think they are over exposed. Well, actually I think it’s a PR thing. Since they is such a long gap between movies, the PR department have to do something to keep fans interested in the arrival of the next film NM. Even though I watch Vampires Diaries, I’m a loyal Twilight fan..have been and always will be.

    People make daily references to Harry Potter too…maybe someday Twilight will be as well-known as Harry Potter. =)

    I can’t tomorrow for Vampire Diaries and Supenatural I call CW Twilight station because there was sence in the First show this season had Bella truck in the backgroud I hope you it too.

    mike! I can’t believe I get what you may be saying- the following is my interpretation of what Mike has said (and the reason I am doing this is because I feel similarly about his comment):

    He can’t wait until tomorrow to watch Vampire Diaries and Supernatural. He thinks of the CW as the Twilight station. I guess he saw a truck that looked like Bella’s truck in the first eipsode of VD? I didn’t notice it.

    Right on, babes!
