TOP TEN TUESDAYS – TOP 10 MOST ANTICIPATED SCENES IN ‘NEW MOON’ (PART 1)

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else include the “months” scene. Good call!

One scene I would like to see acted out, is when Bella freaks out when her mom tries to take her home to Arizona. Very dramatic… I really don’t think it will be in the movie though, it would be cool to see.

One thing that is HUGE for me that they do “right”, is ALL of Italy. Everything to do with Edward, Bella, the tower and the Volturi. I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE!

Definately when Edward leaves, i hope its done as it was in the book. I don’t want them to change how he was before he left. I hope they don’t make him all mushy.

I hope they don’t fly through the part after Edward leaves and Bella is catatonic, just lying there in the rain with Sam and everyone searching for her. That part in the book, to me, really helped illustrate the depth of her pain and loss…

I love Twilight the movie because, I love the book and I’ll take anything and be happy for it (lol) and, I thought it was fairly well done. But, it just seemed to me that they flew through moments and feelings that they could have easily incorporated with very little effort and no real extra time. I mean, in the meadow, couldn’t they have tentatively touched each other a little as they did in the book? The could have still had their staring and sparkly scene, just not so long and then expand on that a bit. And then other parts were just a waste of time too…I mean really…did Mr. Molina need as much screen time as he got??? No way! And the scene with Bella and Billy in the kitchen…interesting but totally unnecessary to the storyline because we had already clearly been shown the nature of their relationship…those precious moments of film could have been spent better fleshing out the developing relationship between Edward and Bella. I hope they don’t make that mistake again in New Moon.

Watching someone who is so distraught that she is borderline catatonic, is as interesting as watching paint dry. Showing Bella’s reaction to Charlie and Renee packing up her things…that would be an excellent VISUAL example of Bella’s internal pain…and it would be a great transition scene for when she goes from “catatonic” to “numb survival” mode.

Ok this is supposed to be Jacob’s movie. You didn’t mention when Bella and Jacob almost kiss or when Jacob and Edward fight. The motorcycle scene, the first time she sees Jake shape shift, the breakfast scene….can we all focus on Jacob for once? This is the book that’s about him

Sadly, this list includes 4 Edward scenes and Rob was recently quoted saying he was only in “like 2 scenes.” But I guess we will just have to wait and see when the movie actually comes out. I really hope that the screenwriting/script was better than it was in Twilight. I felt they left out a lot of pivotal scenes as it was. I like the list!!! *thumbs up*

I would like to see the “other” meadow scene when The Pack goes after Laurent. That has to be in the movie.

Bella laying in the forest behind her house after Edward leaves 5. the blank, “numb” months passing 6. at least brushing over the motorcycle rides with her hearing Edwards voice 7. Jacob comming to her house to try and explain the “gang” in La Push and why he’s part of it but ending up making her guess 8. the cliff jump and Victoria’s flamming hair on the ocean 9. Alice and Jacob at the house after the cliff jump 10. Edward’s phone call that Jacob picks up 11. Alice explaining she wants to turn her herself 12. Alice in the yellow porshe 13. the ENTIRE Italy scene 14. Rosalie apologizing to Bella 15. Bella’s epiphany and Edward trying to convince her he will never leave her again 16. Jacob bringing the motorcycle to her father 17. Edward, Bella, and Jacob’s scene in the woods so we can see the new struggle because of her feelings for Jacob

i’m anxious for:

the forced/angry kiss Jacob gives Bella..
the times Bella and Jacob talk and hold hands along the beach.

THEY BETTER HAVE EDWARD AND BELLA SAY “I LOVE YOU” TO EACHOTHER. i was really disappointed when i didnt hear anyone say “i love you” in the Twilight movie.. that was very irritating.

im also hoping that they keep the suspense and thrill of everything from Alice’s surprise visit after all those months that they’re gone. everything from when Alice comes back to Forks all the way to Volterra, and the end should be kept close to identical…

im autally looking forward to bellas talk with edward and eveything listed above o and when luarant aproaches bella and the wolves kill him but i think the birthday scene the cliff diving scene the i dont want you seen and the bella saves edward seen are what im very excited for

i dont think rob really meant when he said he was only in “2 scenes” besides that interview happened during twilight promos..back in 2008. And New moon script had many rewrites. But YES! im looking forward to everything..mostly with edward and bella. TEAM EDWARD:)

I am Team Edward and I love Robert Pattinson to death! He’s my favorite but I do love Taylor Lautner & Jacob.

I will be disappointed if they have Edward in more scenes than necessary but I for one really want to see the phone call between him & Rosalie. Reading what Meyer wrote visualized so much for me and I really want to see that scene.

Oh and how can you guys forget about laurent almost killing bella in the woods (that’s got to be a given)

I hope they will be able to convey the intense feelings of Edward after Italy and how he tries to prove to Bella he won’t leave again.

I have mentioned this before, but can’t shut up about it. Since Twilight has exploded on the world stage and is now a very desirable vehicle for anyone who can get their claws into it, I am concerned about ‘name’ stars taking certain roles. First to mind, Dakota Fanning. Yes, physically she looks to be a good choice for Jane. But, we all know, Jane was really not a major character. Mean as a snake, yes. But, truthfully, a minor part. Will that part remain so if a ‘name’ star is cast? The same goes for the actress who wants to be Heidi. That part lasted about 30 seconds in the book. I hope they don’t ‘enlarge’ any parts beyond their original intent just to accommodate a name star. Twilight doesn’t need it. Are you listening Summit?

I also want to see them outside the tower room in the lobby when Edward is holding Bella in his arms while she freaks out sort of, and also most of what happens in the tower room with the Volteri is pretty crucial.

I hated how they barley had any of the Cullens in the first movie at all I love them all as characters and actors that one scene didn’t really cut it for me.

there has to be the scene where they are watching Romeo ans Juliet b/c that leads to edward’s decision and the bike scenes

The Italy scenes need to be flawless. If they make the Volturi dry and cliche I’ll be very disappointed. As in the new Underworld movie, the acting was appalling, the script worse. I just hope that this new director understands the twilight fan. If they add in more unnecessary crap that isn’t even in the book like they did in twilight I’ll be absolutely pissed.

Creamy, I’m with you on the “name” actors. I am afraid that they will enlarge parts in order to attach these big names to the film. Take a cue from Harry Potter, it’s not necessary! Look at all the big names they have and the only character that ends up doing more than he does in teh books is Neville, and that is only to help out the uninitiated.

As for scenes I really want to see, that top 10 list is right on, just add the part where Laurent about kills Bella in the meadow, and the movie scene with Jake and Mike. Other than that, I really want to see how they will show the “blank pages” and am anxious that they will screw up Volterra unnecessarily. grrrrr But I will go in with an open mind.

Sorry, I have to add one thing. Torontogirl98 mentioned how the Cullens’ parts were almost nothing in the first movie.

Almost all talk is about Bella, Edward and Jacob. As they are the three major characters that would be correct. BUT, Alice is a major force in every story. Edward could not/would not have been saved without Alice.

Remember she informed Edward (in Midnight Sun) that he was already in love with Bella. The entire family depends on her to alert them to coming dangers. She managed to get Bella to Italy in time to save Edward. She convinces Aro that it is a done deal that Bella will become immortal, therefore saving all their necks in Italy. I won’t cover all the major things she does in later books, but Alice touches all story lines in all four books. I hope her part is greatly enhanced starting with New Moon. It will be criminal if it doesn’t happen.

I would really love to see the Part when Bella’s sees Carlisle’s car right before she walks into the empty house.
And also the part where Edward and Bella are debating when she should “change.” This is the part where he says Bella would have to marry him first. It’s where he first PROPOSES to her. So Crucial!

I think that the “blank pages” scene is a great idea! I am really excited for the scene when Sam finds bella, when Jacob first teaches bella how to ride the motorcycle and she hurts herself, and when bella is running to stop Edward from exposing the “vampire secret” ( I sort of picture it being in slow motion ). Also it will be interesting to see what they do with bella “hearing” Edward.
Although, I am starting to get ticked off at who they want to play certain people. I mean seriously! Madonna?? Isn’t she like 50??? And HILARY DUFF???? in a way I guess she might be okay. And I think Dakota fanning is too young! And for Pete’s sake…a jonas brother song on the soundtrack!!!!!!!!!! I sometimes wonder if these people are trying to ruin the movie!!

some parts that should be added to part 2: the part when Bela first hears Edwards voice when shes in Port Angeles with Jess .. when she learns how to ride the motorcycle and hears his voice …. the scene with laurent .. basically all of italy … when bella sees carlisle’s car and then finds alice in her house ..and plus everything else everyone already said

handmedownheart , where did you hear that Rob was “quoted” saying he was only in “lie 2 scenes”? If we all think about it, that’s not possible if they are sticking to the book. Yeah Edward leaves, but he is in A LOT of the end of the book, like in the top ten list {PART 1} points out so he has to be in way more than 2 scenes!! I HOPE they try to show SOME if Edwards pain after leaving Bella. I have read a few stories saying the writers have made a few changes to the “story” and are going to actually show what Edwards doing while he was away?Like you said handmedownheart , I guess we will REALLY see what happens when the movie comes out.only time will tell! i agree that they should have shown the true pull between Bella and Edward in twilight, they portrayed it all wrong. there should have been more scenes of them showing how truly, madly, deeply in love they are with each other. THANK GOD FOR THE BOOK!! The movie was still really good, just a little disappointing in there “relationship” development…OH AND THE LIST IS AWESOME!! all the scenes and then some!!

I think Romeo and Juliet was kind of a key aspect in the book, if there was some way they could portray that for the movie.
I want to see Carlisle and Bella’s talk after the birthday scene. Also I really want to see the scene where Bella thinks she’s dreaming near the end. I thought that part was kind of funny. Even though I love Rob, they shouldn’t show him while he is away I think. But I do want to see ALL the scenes where she hears his voice, it might be interesting how they do that. I just hope they make this movie atleast 30min. to 1:00 longer. The first one felt rushed I thought.

Oh also, I want to see the part where Edward gives Bella the CD of his music for her birthday! That most likely won’t make it but I really enjoyed that part in the book.

I was hoping they would put in the scene when bella goes into “their” meadow and meets Laurent…!!!! Love the ” Edward snarling in her ear” parts… i do hope their put those in…. At least Edward’s still present through out the “clean break” part….. it would be cruel to not see/hear from him again until the Italy part…

hmm, as much of the book as possible i think. But i really want the scene where edward walks her into the woods and her leaves her and shes lying on the floor and sam finds her and she’s saying “he’s gone”.

O.o and also when alice comes back and she has that chat with charlie while bella’s ‘sleeping’ and charlie’s telling alice what bella had been like when edward had left!…

thats it i think. im really excited for the film!

On top of all the ones already mentioned I really, really hope they use a couple of Stephenie’s outtakes from her website. Like the Rosalie phone call to Edward and Edward sitting in the Brazilian shanty town. I hope, I hope.

I think they should show the months by showing the changing seasons. He leaves in the fall (September), the winter passes and then she “wakes up” in the spring.

I to hope they don’t leave out where her mom tries to take her to Florida or where she is left in the woods. These parts show the depth of her pain.

I’d like to see the scenes where Bella and Jacob are forming their friendship, the motorcycle lessons and the inevitable trips to the emergency room etc… The friendship between Jacob and Bella makes the suffering she’s feeling from being apart from Edward just that much more poignent.

One pivotal scene I would like to see is when Alice returns to Forks.

This is a really good list. For me they had better get when Alice shows up till the end right. (Alice telling Bella Edward’s gone to the Volturi, the airplane rides w/Alice & Bella’s conversations (Bite me Alice! so funny) Alice stealing the porsche, barely saving Edward & the confrontation w/the Volturi, the flights home, and then THE TRUTH, The Vote, & Edward’s proposal.) So ya basically the last 1/3 of the book!

To me they the most important part of New Moon is developing Laurent and how he became a part of the Denali clan for a while.

That way they can add in the scene where he sees Bella in the meadow and then show his ultimate demise when the wolf pack kills him.

This is sooo important because it sets up why the Denali clan didn’t help the Cullens in the battle with the new borns, and it also sets up why Irena decided to backstab the Cullens and rat them out to the Volturi.

ooh. i wish they would add the scholarship thing that got cut from the book!!! i wanna watch her throw the box of money through the window!!! that would be AWESOME

I would add the whole motorcycle scene in, especially the crash, the end where Jacob drops off the motorcycle and gets Bella in trouble, and definately the part where Heidi brings in lunch for the Volturi!

the motorcycle scene is going to be awesome, the scene where bella is stranded in the woods is going to be a good one too…lets hope they dont speed through it, itd be nice to see Charlie’s reaction. and the time when its just november, december those pages in the book . it’ll be interesting to see what they do with that aswell.

I Want to add to the 1st list:
1)the Scholarship scenes that got cut from the book!!! I don’t know why that was cut out! It was brilliant! It would have satisfied the Team Edward fans from flipping pages the first time reading through it to find him–which Stephenie Meyer said was the biggest comment she heard over and over.
2)Romeo and Juliet movie scene where Edward explains to Bella about the Volturi and why he would go to them, setting up the end rescue scene.
3)Edward offering Bella the deal to marry him if she wants him to change her himself.
4)All the scenes Bella does to Hallucinate Edward (with Jess after the movie, the motorcycles, Laurent in Edward’s Meadow, the cliff diving)
5) As many make out scenes (hotter preferably as we build through each story) with Edward and Bella as they can fit in the story line while staying as true to the storyline as possible.
6)Rosalie’s phone call to Edward letting him know Bella had jumped off the cliff.
7) Edward breaking the big screen tv in the other room after the vote.
Of course, the friendship she builds with Jacob in the process which becomes stronger in Eclipse and in the end turns out to be fated as really a cosmic pull that is explained/culminating in Breaking Dawn.
It’s still the love story of Edward and Bella and the mistake he makes to try to save her by removing himself from her all in the name of love. But it is a mistake and he learns from it at the end.
9)The Volturi
10)Edward confessing how “it was the blackest kind of blasphemy” how he lied about not loving her. How it killed him to leave her. Maybe they could then show some of how he suffered to while he was away from Bella. Again they could use the Rosalie phone call that showed just a glimpse of his suffering too.

Ok I didn’t read everyone’s comments cus theres alot lol but I think they should ADD something, and I dunno if anyone has mentioned this yet, but they should put the scene where Rosalie decides to call Edward to tell him, maybe in like a flash back when Alice calls her or something, then cut to Rose being in shock and running to Emmett for help, see another side of her ya know? I wanna see when Alice comes back and Bella’s (Kristen Stewart’s) reaction, and when Alice gets all tight when she’s hugging her cus she hasn’t eaten, and then when she sniffs Bella and Bella flinches and Alice goes “Don’t be ridiculous” lol. I wanna see Bella catatonic and all that, maybe when she finally says “I love you” it could be when he’s gonna leave her, that would be sad (and SO make me cry lol) but good in the movie I think. Btw when does Jacob kiss Bella? Thats not till Eclipse, she kisses his hand when she’s leaving but thats it.

Love this list. I think they should also include Bella riding (and crashing) the bike with the added “Edward” voice; and the “deja vu” scene of Bella and the four guys in front of the bar that she thought were the guys that attacked her the previous year (again, for the Edward voice).

I’d like to see the bit when Alice and Bella drive into Volterra, bribe the guard and pass through the gates. The landscape and buildings in that area of Italy is amazing, so I hope they take advantage of that. I’m also anticipating the scene in the clocktower square, and basically all of Italy!

I think that the scene when jacob starts to become a jerk should be in the movie as well. Especially when she goes to him for the first time and he trwembles and almost flips out on her.

I just cannot wait to see the these scenes plus the one where Aro explains why Edward is so in love with Bella but yet still wants her blood!!!

I would like to see the scene when Edward reads Jacobs mind when Jacob shows him all the pain that Bella went through and Edwards says Jacob has a very good memory.

I’m really excited to see the cliff dive part.It will be intresting to see how that comes together in the movie.

I would really like to see the forrest scene when Edward left Bella, the blank months when Bella is a zombie, cliff diving part, the instances when Bella hears the voice of Edward, the scene when Jacob pick ups the phone call from “Carlisle” then Alice and Bella realizing afterwards that it is Edward confirming the death of Bella and that he is on the way to Italy and Bella reacalling what Edward said about Italy. Then the ENTIRE Italy scene, I really do hope they get that right. And the scene on the plane and lastly the scene the morning after when Bella thought she was dreaming or dead when she woke up and Edward is there beside her and how Edward convinced her that she still alive, they both are.

I am just so excited for this movie. I can’t wait. I really do hope they do it better than Twilight because the scene here are very pivotal. The scenes here greatly effect the next book, how the pain is very evident in Bella and why Edward could no longer afford leaving Bella alone because of that pain.

i love the scene after the voltera, in bella’s room when erdward try to”wake up” bella and apologize for this terrible mistake he did..
