TOP TEN TUESDAYS – TOP 10 REASONS ‘BREAKING DAWN’ SHOULD BE MADE INTO A MOVIE

Posted April 21st, 2009 By: Team Switzerland 41 Comments »

A few days ago, The Wrap reported that a Breaking Dawn movie had gotten the green light, and just today, Entertainment Weekly said ‘not so fast‘ about a potential fourth movie. With all this talk going around about whether the final book in the Twilight saga will or won’t be made into a film, we decided to have a related Top Ten Tuesday list this week.

So without further delay, TA Staffer nfarley brings us:
The Top Ten Reasons ‘Breaking Dawn’ Should Be Made Into a Movie:

10.They really don’t want to make more money off of us Twilighters? One more movie = Even more merchandise to sell.

9. Who could say no to even more on-screen chemistry between Robert and Kristen?

8. Seeing Bella beat Emmett at arm wrestling would be incredibly funny and satisfying.

7. There is no way that they can condense the ending of Eclipse enough without leaving out loads of important things; a rushed wedding and honeymoon will not do.

6. There are so many crucial scenes is Breaking Dawn that we have to see on the big screen, like: Jacob and Nessie imprinting, the Volturi stand-off and of course Bella’s shield.

5. It would seem so incomplete to go through the first three movies and then not see Bella become a vampire.

4. Bella was always described as weak and fragile and it was constantly brought up in the books about how much she needed to be protected. People have to see that in many ways, she became the most powerful of them all.

3. There are so many powerful messages in Breaking Dawn that shouldn’t be missed: Even though werewolves and vampires are mortal enemies, the packs and the Cullen’s (along with their friends and extended family) were able to overcome their prejudices and work together to protect each other and stand up for what’s right.

2. After watching Edward and Bella’s love story evolve over three movies fans want to see their wedding. We want to see them go on a honeymoon, have a baby, and save their family, too.

1. It just can’t be ‘Happily Ever After’ without a proper ending. The saga consists of four books, not three. We have followed the story through all four books and so there should be four movies as well.

What do you think of the list? Do you have any other reasons why ‘Breaking Dawn’ should be made into a movie?

Have your own Twilight-inspired Top Ten list? It could be featured on TA! Send it to us at Newsblog@TwilightersAnonymous.com!

I agree with all ten reasons and i would like to add the change in relationship between bella and jacob and jacob and edward it goes from love to hate to friends again with bella and jake. the from mutual hate to pity to friends to family with jake and edward. Of course there not gonna get all that in a movie but why not try?

  • samantha

amen. I so want to see the honeymoon. if they do make into a rated r, who cares it is not apporaite for kids it is for high schoolers on up.

  • Hilary Jones

I totally agree with all the ten reasons also. Breaking Dawn covers so much that it would be a total shame for it NOT to be made into a movie. Plus there are so many more story lines that Stephenie Meyer could take. Like finishing Midnight Sun, making that into a movie. Go Twilight/New Moon cast. You are all awesome!!!

  • Twilight Mom Australia

Yes ,yes , yes they have make all four movies ,I agree, it would be such a let down to all that is Twilight and all us fans will protest the will be anarchy in the streets. “Well you know what I mean.
I totally want to see 1. The Wedding 2. Isle Esme ( I so want to see Bella covered in feathers) 3. Baby Nessie, Bella finally becoming a Vampire, 3. of course the return of the Volturi. Well I want it all

  • Midori

It is necessary for Summit to make all four books. It will not be considered complete otherwise. We need to see Bella & Edward seal their love by getting married. Then, we need to see Bella be turned into a vampire and have their child, Renesmee. Breaking Dawn has many important scenes in it that can’t be overlooked. I won’t go into details here, but the list contained all the relevant points.

  • kelly

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS……..AMEN!!!!! I so agree with all the top ten!

  • http://www.talkingtwilight.com Elisa

Breaking Dawn has way too much information to cram into even a single movie! They need to follow the lead of Harry Potter and give us Breaking Dawn part 1 & 2

  • alexia

    I agree 110%! :)

  • Kathryn

First let me say I agree with all of you. I LOVE Breaking Dawn. I’ve read it over & over & over & want to see all of the Top 10.

But I can understand a studio’s hesitaton. Can you imagine the non-Twilight fans reactions to a grown man falling in love with an infant? I know, & you know, that there was nothing sexy about it but I imagine that the backlash would be nasty… and that’s a lot of money to gamble.

(And that’s not even talking about Edward biting Bella to get Nessie out or human Bella drinking blood, etc).

But I still certainly vote: GREEN LIGHT!!

  • Kiwi

I agree wholeheartedly with all ten reasons, but I have to confess I’m a little disappointed the banter between Jacob and Rose and Emmett picking on Bella’s sex life weren’t mentioned. Those were so my favorite things about Breaking Dawn. Is there anyone who ISN’T dying to see Rose hand Jacob a steak in a makeshift dog bowl? Or Jacob whack Rose in the head with it like it’s a frisbee? I would definitely pay JUST to see that scene.

  • Stevie Rae

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH ALL TEN REASON!!!!!!!!!

  • uinen

I totally agree. Thay just simply cannot finnish the films with sentence: we have to tell charlie [about engagement]. I’m alredy waiting for it to make it to screen

  • Patty

Must make the film of BD, or the Twilight saga is incomplete.
I have read that the Meyer’s afraid that the film is too violent and that there is too much sex. But the book is full for that. Can vietralo for persons under 14 years (in Italy bans are 14 or 18 years) as they do in many films without complaints.
It is not just cut it or not even make the film.

    Sorry for my horrible english.

  • aerialla

I’m a person who doesn’t care for Breaking Dawn. I would be completely happy with a wedding ending to Eclipse. There were so many things to me that were just wrong with Breaking Dawn that my wall will forever bare a scar from the times I threw the book across the room at it. I absolutely hated the “Nessie” storyline and felt the book turned too “Alien” sci-fi for a vampire novel.

I think instead of a top ten reason why Breaking Dawn should be made there should be a Top Ten Reasons For “NOT” Making Breaking Dawn!

  • Stephanie

Ok I have to say I loved all the books but Breaking Dawn was my absolute favorite!! The wedding, the honeymoon, Nessie and of course Bella finally getting what she’s wanted all along. To see her and Edward racing through the forest on the hunt, together….who could not want all of that. And I agree, if they have to make it rated R then SO WHAT??!! Trust me there are enough 17 year olds and up who are even more “Twilight Obsessed” then the “TWEENS”… MAKE THE MOVIE

  • Tia

beautifully debated! I agree with everything except we have 4 books, we need 5 MOVIES!!! I think “breaking Dawn” needs to be made into 2 movies, just so they don’t leave anything essential out!!!

  • heather

I totally agree that they should do a fourth movie! Breaking Dawn is my favorite out of all four books. I want to see Bella become a vampire.

  • aida/m/go/go

I’m nervous enough because of how NEw Moon might turnout, the only way they could convice me to WANT BREAKING DAWN TO BE MADE INTO A MOVIE is after the trial of fire new moon will go through. New Moon could determine how not so good Breaking Dawn could be.

You have to admit that Breaking Dawn is NOTHING like the first three books. It completely stands on its own, and not in the greatest way. The first three are believable (not including the sparkling gag), but Breaking Dawn could be too challenging for anyone to put into film and not laugh their ass off the entire time.
    -The Birth Scene
-the creppy werewolf who falls for a newborn child

Don’t get me wrong Breaking Dawn has many amazing scenes that I would love to see. But the two mentioned are kinda ridiculous, making it very difficult to translate from the book to the non-reader audience.

Either way Breaking Dawn is good enough for me to read but maybe not to watch.

  • roxie

i agree with all of the reasons
its all true we cant have a proper ending
    without the 4th movie

  • jenb

I totally agree with all your reasons. I want BD to be made into a movie. I don’t want a rushed wedding or anything like that at the end of Eclipse. If they do it right BD can be an awesome movie. (They would need to explain really well the whole imprinting thing so it’s not weird for those who haven’t read the books. But this can be done in Eclipse.) But I would want it to be made into 2 movies, there’s no way they can cram all that into 1 movie! I would be willing to wait a few years if that’s what it took so that they can do Renesmee right and to make a good movie.

  • http://twilightersanonymous Jennifer

omg! wt*? i cannot believe one person actually said there should b a posting of 10 reasons to NOT put out BD. you should just not even be on this site, you are an injustice to twifans all over the world. and throw out all of your twilight stuff bcuz u r not a fan if u do not like the fourth book. that’s like saying you don’t want to see deathly hallows because dumbledore is dead.

  • patty

me too, I me when tit omes the se scens, i think it should show them making out and maybe edward (robpert apttion) fulyl cothed cna pull or push belal on the be.d as for the midngiht, swim well Bella may to be in a binki isntea.d but yeha they totally should

  • http://myspace.com/lovelymouse Ashley

I agree! Breaking Dawn was my favorite of the series. I would be very disappointed if they don’t make it into a movie!

  • mcullenvamp

Breaking Dawn was an excellent book. I do believe the saga would be incomplete without including it in the movie series.
There’s too many “wrap-ups” of stories in Breaking Dawn… like Jacob and Bella’s relationship and Bella’s transformation
I’m not worried about the sex aspect of it because if it is done the way the book is done, i think it’ll be fine. the scenes in the book are not graphic, but more of an “introduction” then its the next morning… the childbirth scene is the only “violent” scene.
Besides they are talking another 2 years from now and fans of the series will no longer be pre-teens but teens, and there are alot of older twilight fans.

  • jen-girl

    RAmen, brothers and sisters, RAmen…
For the record, I totally agree with all above reasons (:

  • Twilight mom, Texas

Oh my, That is the most important movie of all. Everything comes together in this movie. They cant stop at three… Im still mad the book stops at Breaking Dawn, I want to know what happens with the baby and the new vampire.

All the reasons above are head on!!!!

  • kimmie cullen

i loveeeed breaking dawn! 2nd fave! MAKE THE MOVIEEE!!!! if they dont i will send summit 89765476 emails on whay them shoud. :) lol

    GO BD!!!

  • Kristine

It would just be nuts(as I’ve said before)if they DIDN’T make BD. It was my favorite from the series, and I honestly think that they can cut certain parts from the movie without losing too much. I’m bettin at least 95% of the fans want this movie made. I think it will take some talking, mulling, thinking, yada, yada….but it CAN be done. As far as Jacob and Renesmee, I do believe it might be a bit controversial for those that might be seeing the movie without reading the books, but I do believe it can be done in a respectable manner. I honestly think that at some point in these movies we need to have the scene where Jacob explains how imprinting works, which would really help in BD. At any rate, BD wraps up alot of stuff and the fans need the closure.

  • Melisa

    I agree!!
It would seem incomplete to just have 3 movies, even for someone who hasnt read the books. Its simply impossible to give the story the right closure just with Eclipse.
I do think theyre going too fast though. After all, whats the rush? If they took some more time to prepare eclipse and breaking dawn, the adaptations would be better =)

  • sabrina

I AGREE WITH ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i luv the saga

I would disagree with numero four-o
    “of them all”???!!!!
what about the wolves?! the are equally indestructable.
    switzerland

  • Alyssa Bear

WELL i AGREE WiTH THEM ALL AS WELL
ND i THEY DiDNT WANT TO MAKE THE MOViE ALSO BECUZ iT WULD BE TOO LONG
BUT WHO CARES iF iTS TOO LONG..I MEAN THERE ARE EVN LONGER MOViES OUT THERE
i MEAN HOW LONG iS THE MOVIiE…LORD OF THE RiNGS..LiKE FOREVER
ND WAT ABOUT BAND OF BROTHERS..THERE ARE MULTiPLE DVDS TO GO WiTH THAT
WELL MAYBE iM NOT MAKiN SENSE BUT THiS iS WAT i THiNK

  • porcelain doll

i am looking forward to a hot, steamy Isle Esme. ;-]

  • anna_cullen

    how about:

Cuz if you DON’T we’ll sic the Volturi on you!!!

    :)

  • APRIL

I AGREE. ESPCIALLY WITH NUMBER THREE. US TWILIGHTERS HAVE TO SEE THE WOLF PACK AND THE CULLENS COME TOGETHER AND PUT ASIDE THE B.S AND WORK TOGETHER. I LOVE THAT PART IN THE BOOK.

  • Holly

In the words (or thoughts) of Seth, “Hear, hear” =D

  • christy

The only reason I’ve heard they would not make the movie is because it wouldn’t be PG 13. What! The book is up for a childrens book of the Year Award. That says it all in my opinion. Plus, I see know reason why they have to show the the gore of the birth. Let Bella close her eyes. Let her hee what Edward and Jacob are saying. Let her see flashbacks, no one wuld complain about another Rob Pattinson song anyway! And I read where the script writer said no to violence. What! They don’t fight. But they have in evy other Twilight movie. We the fans, no the dedecated thousands of fans, deserve our Happily Ever After!

  • BELLA

bella attacking jake! they’re good, but i really want to see that part! that would be sooo funny

  • LeslieGrace

IF they made all 3 and didn’t finish the story I think they would have a TON of angry and hostile fans! All of these reasons are reason enough especially 5. “It would seem so incomplete to go through the first three movies and then not see Bella become a vampire”. Whats a story if you don’t have an end…and how an you not make Bella a Vampire the fans are enduring all the waiting just to see the wedding and Bella finally becoming a vampire and Renesseme!

  • http://hoshodshdlshdfsj valerie

i agree and if your not going to make a 4th movie you shouldn’t have made any of the movie just the books

  • alicia

They need to finish the love story! It would be a big waste to see the first three and not the last one. What, they can’t make one more movie? I think they should be able to make just one more movie to satasfy the vuers!!!
