TOP TEN TUESDAYS – TOP 10 RUMORS WE ARE GLAD/HOPE AREN’T TRUE FOR ‘NEW MOON’

The past week we’ve been hearing tons of ‘New Moon’ rumors, and MTV even took to their movies blog to ask you, the readers, to make up the most outrageous rumors you could come up with. Well, we at TA have come up with our own unique list to address these rumors head on. There are many we either HOPE aren’t true, or rumors that have been proven untrue that we’re very glad about.

So, without further delay, we bring you:
The Top Ten ‘New Moon’ Rumors We Are Glad/Hope Aren’t True:

10. ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse’ will be filmed back to back : Sure, it might be more quick and efficient to film back to back, but without a break in between, what will we do without pictures of Rob strolling about LA with a new haircut?

9. Solomon Trimble will be re-cast as Sam Uley: There’s this old saying that goes, ‘If it aint broke, don’t fix it’. Summit: take note.

8. Robert Pattinson won’t contribute any music to the film : We’ve already got to deal without Edward for 75% of ‘New Moon’, and now we get deprived Rob’s music, too? Not. Cool.

7. Michael Copon will play one of the wolves : After the rumors that Michael would replace Taylor as Jacob in ‘New Moon’, we’ve got one thing to say about both of them being on set: awkward.

6. AnnaLynne McCord will be playing Heidi : While she is beautiful and can certainly fill Heidi’s shoes, the farther away from Kellan she is, the better (more room for us to sneak in).

5. Sarah Clarke has not yet been asked to reprise her role as Renee : Billy Burke was great as Charlie in the movie, but we don’t think he can put on a wig and cover the role of Renee, too.

4. The Jonas Brothers will be on the soundtrack : No explanation needed.

3. Kristen and Rob are getting a $10 million raise : Sure, they were both great in ‘Twilight’, but with a reported $50 million budget for ‘New Moon’, we would rather Kristen and Rob get a smaller paycheck to ensure the quality of the film. After all, we don’t want to see Taylor running around in a wolf costume, right?

2. Madonna will be in ‘New Moon’ : Unless she wants to play the part of Bella’s deceased grandma, we can’t exactly see what other role she would play in ‘New Moon’.

1. Vanessa Hudgens is up for the role of Leah : Do we really want the characters to break out into song and dance routines? We thought it was ‘New Moon’, not ‘New Moon: The Musical’.

As a side note: please remember this list is all in good fun. Don’t take it too seriously, as it is just for laughs!

    7. Michael Copon will play one of the wolves : After the rumors that Michael would replace Taylor as Jacob in ‘New Moon’, we’ve got one thing to say about both of them being on set: awkward. I don’t know who this dude is, but as long as Taylor gets to play Jacob, I’m cool with any other wolves being cast.

    6. AnnaLynne McCord will be playing Heidi : While she is beautiful and can certainly fill Heidi’s shoes, the farther away from Kellan she is, the better (more room for us to sneak in). Oh soooo agreed! Too much drama and some catfight between her and our beloved Ashley Greene.

    5. Sarah Clarke has not yet been asked to reprise her role as Renee : Billy Burke was great as Charlie in the movie, but we don’t think he can put on a wig and cover the role of Renee, too. Mmmm…no comments.

    4. The Jonas Brothers will be on the soundtrack : No explanation needed. Oh my goodness, that will absolutely be a cool present for my two 7yr old nieces, but not for 28yr. old me.

    3.     8)I am still adjusting to the fact that when Ed leaves I’m going to break into tears in the middle of the theater if there are no Rob’s music to confort me I don’t know what I’ll do. OME this is just awful

    4)Dear lord(Edward) please dont let this be true it’s painful enough when I hear them in the backround, since my little sister is watching Disney Channel 24/7 and sings along which is just awkard(bloody ears) to listen to!
    3)They can pay them whatever they like as long as the film gets it’s fair share (no wolf costumes PLEASE)
    2)IT’s basically the same pain that I have to endure as Jonas Bros. but the grandma was awsome It’s probably the only role that even fits the slightiest(I’m not sure if thats a word but you now what I mean)
    And finaly 1) PLEASE but I mean PLEASE GOd dont let this be true We thought it was ‘New Moon’, not ‘New Moon: The Musical’. that says it all.

    10. ‘New Moon’ and ‘Eclipse’ will be filmed back to back :
    Actually I have no problem with that, they could be filmed back to back… if the script is good and they find a good director!
    Well, Since ROB won’t be in new moon as much, I don’t think he will be spending the entire time in Canada during the overall shooting…. So we should be seeing him in the meantime…

    5. Sarah Clarke has not yet been asked to reprise her role as Renee :
    LOOOL Charlie with a wig would rock! But does she appear in New moon? I remember her in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn (small parts). They can hardly skip her completely in Breaking Dawn though…

    4. The Jonas Brothers will be on the soundtrack : No explanation needed.
    Yeah, if they want people over 15 to buy the soundtrack, I would clearly avoid those 3 boys…

    3. Kristen and Rob are getting a $10 million raise :
    Agreed that with the global budget announced, it is ridiculous… But maybe it’s the global budget that is ridiculous considering the amount of money the movie made (and the on screen time not over yet ouside US…)

    2. Madonna will be in ‘New Moon’ :
    I would add considering her acting abilities, she’d better not be there either… Nor on the soundtrack unless she goes back to her “frozen” period (up untill “like a prayer” maybe) musicwise.

    1. Vanessa Hudgens is up for the role of Leah :
    Is the girl even native american??? she looks more latino to me…. but I might be wrong. Plus, she is a “star”, her income would not fit in the “somewhat small” budget right? unless she pays for free… Then again NO THANK YOU.

    Agreed! Love New Moon – it’s my favorite book of the series. Love the Jacob character but so love Edward more – I’m hoping, in the cutting process of taking such a long book down to a 2 hour movie, that the majority of the cutting is with Bella/Jacob portion so that Edward gets as much screen time as possible with the breakup and Volterra and back home. Can’t wait!

    I literally snorted out loud as soon as I read the part about Taylor running around on set in a wolf costume. Same goes for the part about Billy pulling double duty by putting on a wig and playing Renee too (imagine how that mustache would clash with the wig…)

    I hate to say it, but Michael Copon is stunning… I sort of imagined him as Jake. He just fits my idea of what Jake looks like. But don’t get me wring, Taylor is very cute too. :]

    Okay, I’ll bite LOL!!
    Responses to a few of these-
    Back to back filming for New Moon and Eclipse: EXCELLENT idea! Everyone is there, sets are in place, like someone else said, no one ages, saves precious time and $$ plus it makes continuity easier for the filmakers. Want proof that this is a good idea? think Peter Jackson and Lord of the Rings (that turned out pretty well and won some significant Academy Awards as well).
    Please don’t throw things at me; I love all things Twilight (saw it too many times to count and I’ve already pre-ordered three different “collectible” editions) but it was just okay. Rob and Kristen were good in it (not great but good). I’d say save the money upfront; put it into the movie itself and give them a larger portion of the box-office and increase their residuals from downloads and dvd sales; they’ll end up making more on the back end.
    Jonas Brothers? Vanessa Hudgins? Madonna? They’re all well and good in their own time and place but that place is NOT in my Twilight universe. Please??

AND NOW I DONT EVEN HAVE HIS MUSIC THERE???? i heard it was rob who said he wanted to steer clear of having his music in the movie b/c he didnt want to make it seem he was all about the fame and money or something like that idk…. dear god no jobros or hsm stars!

    I hate when journalists don’t do their homework.

    -Screenwriter Melissa Rosenburg said there is no part for Leah, which was the part supposedly made for Vanessa Hudgens. Vanessa even commented herself that she never auditioned.
    -Solomon Trible announced that he will not be back for the sequels.
    -New Moon and Eclipse will have a 10 week break in between.
    -Rob also commented he will not do any music on the New Moon soundtrack.

    Also, what about the Drew Barrymore rumor?

    ok it has been w hile since I read the books, but WHO is HEIDI? mentioned in #6 up above? and as far as no music from Rob on the soundtrack, I am sorry but thank goodness! I thought the song that was on Twilight cd sucked.
    also I agree about Vanessa Hudgens, she would be pretty but can she even act? She is a “disney” movie star, that doesn’t exactly require talent…? However, my kids love her.

    I have to agree with luvthatvoice; I don’t even remeber who is Heidi…

    I know the movie have had such a great unexpected success that everybody wants to have a piece of it, but it’s funny to see “celebrities” fighting to get a completely secondary part (like the girl who wants to play Jane, or the other who wants to play Leah…). The real important characters are already booked (though I have a soft spot for Seth the cute werewolf… but I realize he’s not that crutial).

    I don’t want McCord anywhere near this film. And that has nothing to do with Lutz. She is only capable of playing one type of person successfully, a bi##hy whore. Which all and all is okay for Hiedi, but she has 1 facial in everything I have seen her in, and I am sick of seeing it. She is a Zoolander, pretty but no talent.
