TOP TEN TUESDAYS – TOP 10 TWILIGHT DVD AUDIO COMMENTARY MOMENTS

If you saw our Top Ten Tuesday list last week, you’ll remember that we brought you The Top Ten Twilight DVD Extras/Special Features. You’ll also remember that the #1 special feature on the list was the audio commentary done by Catherine Hardwicke, Kristen Stewart, and Robert Pattinson. So to take things a bit farther, we’re taking a closer look at the Twilight movie audio commentary.

So this week, brought to you by TA Staffer Eirelav, we count down
The Top Ten Twilight DVD Audio Commentary Moments:

10. (In the woods after Bella tells Edward she knows he is a vampire; Edward asks “What do we eat?”)
Ch 11 01:48: Cheeseburgers! (Rob)

9. (Kissing scene in Bella’s bedroom)
Ch 16 01:18: I don’t know. Sometimes I feel like my head is being like turned inside out. Like that episode of Ren & Stimpy when he’s inside his own bellybutton. (Rob)

8. (Restaurant scene in Port Angeles)
Ch 9 05:43: Is this where you ran out of the theatre? That’s what your mom told me when you watched the screening. “He just ran out!” (Catherine)

7. (Bella’s bedroom – she just arrived in Forks and Charlie brought her & her bags into her room; she sits on her bed holding a cactus.)
Ch 1 03:48: I’m disappointed that at the end of the scene that I don’t like get to talk to the cactus anymore. Didn’t we talk to the cactus? (Kristen)

6. (Outside the greenhouse next to the bus.)
Ch 6 03:03: See that’s when I had pecs. I had pecs for about two days. (Rob)

5. (Hospital scene; Edward and Bella are arguing in the hallway.)
Ch 5 03:29: The moral of this scene is never trust a guy who plucks his eyebrows. (Rob)

4. (On the mountain, the sun shines, Edward unbuttons his shirt and we see him sparkle.)
Ch 11 02:48: I thought I was supposed to have a fake six-pack in this scene … I thought I was going to get Cam superimposed … I’m sorry but I’m just like a sweaty guy. (Rob)

3. (In the hallway at Forks High School, Edward & Bella are talking by the lockers.)
Ch 4 03:47: Rob, you look pretty hunky in this shot. Did you have padding? (Catherine)

2. (Preparing to leave for field trip, Bella is talking to Mike, Edward is watching and listening in background.)
Ch 6 01:10: I’ve already aged about six years … I look haggard … might as well recast … where’s Efron? (Rob)

1. (Kitchen scene where Bella meets the Cullens for the first time; Rosalie shatters the salad bowl.)
Ch 14 03:26: Peter had the best line there. He was like, “Oh, Rosalie, always busting my bowls!” (Rob)

    I just have to say, #2 – I think Rob is so incredible looking as he is watching Bella and Mike. This is almost a screaming moment. His eyes are just so, so, I don’t know. Killer!

    And #10 – When he is casually strolling up to her as she is talking!!!! He vacillates between the hottest man in the history of man and a scary, blood-thirsty vampire. He does this all with the sway of his body (language) and the absolute mesmerizing look he is throwing at Kristen!! I can never see these two scenes too much.

    I know it seemed Rob didn’t like almost anything about the movie,or at least his performance, but I beg to differ. Your fans beg to differ. Sigh.

    Kristen and Rob got it right. Period.

    lmao those were funny! i watched them at least 20 times! no lie (i tend to fast forward a lot)Ok, theres a couple you forgot. there’s the one where rob, kristen, & catherine were talking about emmett(so hot aka kellan) on how he was standing in the jeep on the way to school. that had me cracking up! one of them said that that was kellans idea. another one was when edward(rob…duh)was revealing himself to bella (sparkling)and rob was like ”I dont see nothing wrong!” execpt he was singing that line! (if you saw the commentary you know what im talking about…hopefully) but the one that should of DEFINETLY should of been on the list was when it was the credits and they were pretending to be each other. rob was trying to be catherine and out of nowhere he screams! not literatly. it was more like a woo-hoo. YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO IT!!!!!!!!! you will be laughing really hard!

    Okay…you remember the scene where Bella is leaving Forks and James is listening in. Edward is all “I Don’t understand!”… yeah that was THE funniest. It should be on the list. Also when he was like: “look at me in my peacoat, my little customized peacoat.” Too funny.

    I love the part where Robert is like “I have a bouffante” and Kristen laughed at him and said he even did it with the little accent. The he says ” Un bouffant, n’est pas!!” That’s during the part right before they go to Lapush.

    I think that the best one was when Bella was getting ganged up on by them creepers and Rob was all talkin in a prissy voice.

    i luv it when edward gets out of the car to give the evil look to the guys he goes in a rlly girly voice”Now listen guys! Now come on…now come on let’s just be simple about this.” I was cracking up

    Ahhh honestly, Rob said something about his looks every other line in the audio commentary. Dont get me wrong I laughed a lot during it, but seriously. He kept critizing himself it was almost annoying. I love the guy, he’s got awesome talent, with matching looks.I don’t understand why he has to be that way. If he was condifidant (not cocky) he would have me sold.

    I’m am in no way trying to bash Rob, he’s great, but did anyone else feel the same about the his commentary?

    yes!
    i laughed so hard when he talks about his “bouffante”. and he’s all, “look at me in my tailored pea coat and my bouffante.” (or something along those lines :P ).

    the port angeles scene where he’s making fun of his “scary face” and he starts talking in that girly voice (“come on guys…”)

    or even when he’s talking about how he thought they were going to superimpose cam’s six-pack on him, when he’s showing bella his skin in the sunlight, and he’s sorry, “he’s just a really sweaty guy.”

    there’s so many other parts that are funny, but i love how they pointed out how strange they were laying in the meadow scene, ’cause i think they looked like rag dolls as well. :P

    great commentary by all three of them. (for some reason i can only remember what robert said at the moment…)

    Victoria: Yes, it bothered me too. Only in the fact that he is so insecure that he doesn’t seem to be able to enjoy what he is doing.

    I think some of the discomfort would be natural for anyone, even those whose job it is to be on display, but he does seem to be intensely so.

    I hope continued success and simple longevity in the spotlight will help him get past this difficult stage.

    We all love him, not for being Edward, but for being Rob. I just hope he can began to love himself too.

    I loved the commentary. However as an ‘older’ fan, I found Robert’s girly giggling a little embarrassing. It hasn’t stopped me watching/listening to it several times since though. I hope they consider doing something similar on New Moon etc.

    Just a note to say that I thought Robert’s six-pack was great. If you pause the DVD, it is quite noticeable!

    What has made me look at the film differently though is all this gossip of Robert sleeping with Nikki Reed. When he talks about teaching her to bat left-handed and then the looks they share in the kitchen and garage scenes… I don’t want to go there!

    Victoria, I agree with Rob being OVERLY critical of himself. He never really thought of himself as the “perfect” Edward that Stephenie portrays! What a tortured soul, running out of the theater! Honestly, I can’t believe he even sat thru the commentary!! Can you? I’m wondering if maybe he is a perfectionist? I know that I myself clown and laugh (when others are not) when I’m nervous and maybe he’s doing the same, not sure. I strongly believe this comes from my childhood rearing, hmmmmm? I’m also never satisfied with a project I have done even when all those around me are ecstatic about it. Hang in there Rob, this 41 y/o mother of one absolutely ADORES you and as you said on the Ellen Degeneres show….the cougars are out!!! BTW, try pizza rolls in the microwave if you haven’t already.

    Before watching the Twilight w/commentary I had never watched a movie w/commentary before. And honestly I wasn’t that impressed. I learned a few new things but other than that I didn’t enjoy it. I doubt I’ll watch it again w/commentary. I’d rather just watch the movie & enjoy the movie.

    I like all these too but I also like the scene when Bella figures out that Edward is a vampire and there is the scene when he in biting her neck and Kristen says that he looks like the character he plays in Little Ashes and then Rob starts cracking up!

    i like the one were he talks about his peacoat saying-
    “I would end up hating the guy, walking around in his designer peacoat ignoring everyone” something to that effect xD
    you cant help but love rob lol
    and the end were he mimicks someone in the credits, oh catherine!

    My favorite part is when they are in the restaurant and they are talking about the people who tried to get Bella in Forks. They told Rob, “Hey you’re double just did it and it was 10 times better than anything you’ve done.” I love it I laugh every time.

    Well, first, I love how basically all of these moments are things Rob said. He was really the funny one in the commentary. One I would’ve added is when Edward shows up in Port Angeles and Rob says “Come on guys, let’s keep it simple” in the FUNNIEST gay voice ever.

    i’m reading this is class trying desperately not to burst out laughing. the commentary was so great! i tell everyone “you have to watch the movie with the commentary! It’s HILARIOUS!!” i have never bothered to watch movies w/ commentary and i think since i got the twilight dvd i’ve watched it more with the commentary than without LOL :)

    Throughout the entire kissing scene Rob was cracking me up!! “That shot was really difficult, because I have like a really flat head.” “I don’t shave much but I notice I’ve got one of those like butt chins. It’s wierd, it’s like a little…nubbin.” Hilarious!!!! Not to mention his head feeling like its turned inside out. He’s so adorable.
