Due to overwhelming confusion (and a suggestion) TA Staff member Evie has written up a Twilight DVD comparison to help you decide which one to purchase and where. She has compared Amazon, Hot Topic, Borders, Best Buy and Target. We hope this clears up some of the confusion.

    Wow! That was really helpful! Thanks for the work.

    It’s frustrating that Summit seems to have designed this DVD & bluray release to make fans purchase multiple copies to get all the extras. I’m one of those people who enjoy watching the “behind the scenes” info on movies I love. I can’t believe I’m going to have to actually take the time to study these lists to decide which one to buy… or whether it’s worth it to wait for the May release date to get those extras (which will be different than the March release!). I know the economy is tough, but how greedy can you get?

I think that from the ones that are released on March 21 the Borders one is the best offer. And then I will save some money to bye the FAN BOX COLLECTORS EDITION.. thanks so much for this.

    Is there any way to verify if the extended/deleted scenes on each of the versions are the same? Also, the audio commentary with Catherine, Kristen and Rob. Will this be the same on each release? Surely Summit would not vary this type of extra? Growl!

    I already ordered the one from Borders. I researched it previously and it looked to me like the one from Borders has everything the regular 2-Disc Special Edition has plus extra stuff, like more interveiws (that are exclusive), and red-carpet stuff. Plus, you get the cool cards too. I can’t wait until it comes out! Plus, if you order it from Borders, you get free shipping too. : )

    Thanks! I was soooo confused about all of the different releases. I am going to get the Blu-ray version from Best Buy or Target. I want the best picture and it has the deleted scenes and things I am interested in. The Borders DVD has more cast interviews, but I can live without those for the Blu-ray! I can’t wait!!!

    ok, i was under the impression that the new moon teaser only came with the blu-ray special collecter set… that would make more sense since it comes out a little over a month after filming begins. how would they include it in the normal blu-ray disc if filming starts two days AFTER they release it?
    gah, so confusing. i wish they would just put all the same features on ONE version of the dvd :/

    My roommate is planning on buying the DVD on March 21st, so I’m going to get the Ultimate Blu-ray from Amazon, that way we can still watch it when it comes out on March 21st, but I will get the set I want. I want that watch!! :) And the pretty box!

    I think to answer the question about if you can only order the Borders one online… My friend and I called the nearest Borders store to us (85 miles away)and they said that if you purchase the set online, something will be emailed to you to allow you to pick it up at the store. I don’t know how that works but that’s what we plan to do. We also found out that that particular store is hosting a midnight-release party and we are SO there!!! Our only problem…. we need free babysitters… LOL! Thank goodness both of our moms live in the same town as we do!

    What does “BD” Live with New Moon teaser mean? I bet they will just show some raw filming or something… but I don’t understand what the ‘BD’ stands for… I can only think of Breaking Dawn… but that wouldn’t make any sense…. Help. Please : )

    Blu Ray. Not for some special features it might include but because of this “Blu Ray is better quality than DVD” that my dad keeps telling me. Haha my sis is getting the DVD so she can bring it to her friend’s houses who dont have Blu Ray. Ever heard of 2 Twilight movies for 1 household?

    I’m in love with the soundtrack – I just hyped it on EverHype (they’re a website that lets users “hype” what they love and I’m totally addicted – check them out. My favorite band on it is Linkin Park, and I’m looking forward to owning the movie as soon as it’s released on DVD.

    I have been planning to buy BluRay, but I’m fustrated that the March 21 ones won’t have a lot of extra stuff you can get with normal dvds released the same day. So I may end up getting the Borders one and then waiting till May 5 for BluRay. Not sure how the hubby will feel about that… lol!

    I think I’m going with the Borders SE it seems to have alot more exclusives. I don’t have a blu-ray player so there’s no point in buying a disc that I won’t be able to watch. I’m with Kayla that I would rather have had Summit come out with a DVD digital copy because now I may have to buy one from the iTunes store too! I did some quick searching about BD-Live and from what I can tell your Blu-ray player or PS3 needs to have a 2.0 profile or you won’t be able to access that part of the disc. And your player needs to have an ethernet connection, Java scripting and 1GB of local storage from what I’ve read.

    UK DVD release Date = 6th April

    BLU RAY DVD release date = 5th May, hence the teaser will be an actual teaser as they will have been filming for 1 – 2 months

    I was gonna get the one at Amazon, but I changed my mind and ordered the Borders one. Thats dumb they made so many different copies just to get people to spend more money, it’s mean! lol. But oh well, they better be worth it is all I gotta say! lol Oh I wish it was March 21st already… No November! I can’t wait for New Moon! :D

    BD LIVE: New moon Teaser trailer.. is confusing

    i spoke with my tech geek friend who has a blue ray player she says that its an option on players that allows you to go online so that means that when the teaser trailer is released you have the option of viewing it first through the blue ray player. but as we all know everything ends up on youtube anyways so i hope this was helpful

    im definately getting mine from borders its the best offer, hot topics film cell doesnt look soo appealing… if they had one of jasper then i would get it but edward schmedward =D

    Hey I’ve never been on this site before but the different Twilight DVD’s were extremely confusing to me and this site explained it so clearly. Just to let you guys know I looked at the Costco website and you can pre-order the Blue-Ray DVD that Amazon is selling for 79.99 for only 59.99. I went list item bu list item and they look exactly the same. Plus Costco.com has a great picture of what everything looks like. It is completely awesome. Even if you don’t have a Costco card find a friend and buy it that way. Also Costco has the limited Edition Twilight book for 16.99 and its $30.00-something at any bookstore. Just thought you guys might like to and go check out the pics you don’t have to be a member to look online. FYI it won’t ship til March 21.
