TWILIGHT SPARKS INTEREST IN VOLVOS
Boxwish.com - Apparently, due to the Twilight movie, interest has been stirred in Volvos:
There have been some incredible movie cars over the years. The Aston Martin has dazzled in the Bond franchise, the Mini Coopers proved something to whistle about in The Italian Job and the DeLorean was a time-travelling sensation in Back to the Future to name but three, which presents the question: should we add the Volvo C30 to that list? The sports coupe enjoys a starring role in vampire love story Twilight and the thirst for blood has changed to a thirst for the car as young Americans are clamoring to get their hands on the movie motor.
As he does in the filmâs source material, the Stephanie Meyer bestseller, its bloodsucker Edward played by Robert Pattinson who gets behind the wheel of the Swedish sedan. And rather than the customary 10 to 30 seconds of screen time afforded such brand tie-ins, the silver C30 gets a whopping four minutes to shine. Itâs an unlikely and amazing platform for Volvo, who due to budgetary limitations canât maximize on the exposure with advertising, but again fans are happily stepping in, posting videos on YouTube with titles and tag-lines such as The Day Volvo Died and âIf you lived forever, what car would you live for?ââThe top brass at Volvo are suitably thrilled with their big screen exposure as the model had only previously made a handful of TV appearances since its US launch a few years back. John Maloney, the Vice President of Volvoâs marketing and product planning enthused: âWe knew that Twilight had a strong following and we were grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of bringing this exciting book series to life.â
(thanks hugz)
LOL, hurry and buy your Volvo now! I’m not sure where to go with this article. Do you want to buy a Volvo merely because it was in the Twilight movie?

no lol. i still want a Monte Carlo
I am planning to buy a Silver Volvo sedan now because of the book. but seeing the C30 n th emovie only makes me want a silver Volvo more. I am a mom with teenagers and a two door is not a good idea for me.
Ugh. If I worked, that’s the first thing I would buy.
=(
They’re actually pretty nice.
This article made me laugh out loud. Literally. I would buy a Volvo just to see if Edward came with it =D
Oh HALE YEAH!!!
I already found the one I want!! Volvo’s are great cars and just added to the desire!
YES! I want a “stupid shiny Volvo”, but I want the S60R like in the book. My license plate cover will say “I Love My Stupid Shiny Volvo” and I’m working on getting a personalized license plate that says “Twilite”.
Please know that I’m not obsessed at all, thank you.
After reading the Twilight books and looking at Stephenie Meyer’s website I actually did go out and buy a Volvo. However, the car that was shown in the movie (C30) is not the car Stephenie had in her mind (S60R). I didn’t buy mine in silver though! I was already looking for a new car and fell in love with the S60R when I saw it. Plus Volvo’s are known for their safety and reliability!
Prolly not, I have my old beater Honda accord that I’ve personalized with a big pink bat on the hood and the twilight logo on the edge of the trunk. But it’s silver! LOL, I love the Volvo my friend’s dad actually has the S60R in red, it’s a great car, but I love my Honda too much to trade it in.
I am a stupid shiny volvo owner!
I was this close to getting a c30, but its back is just weird. The trunk part that opens is only the glass window part, it looks a bit odd in real life, plus a c30 is only a 4 passenger car. The Cullens can’t all fit in it! (who are you trying to kid summit! lol)
No, I cant get a volvo yet, I’m not even teen yet! LOL. But I might see if they sell volvos in aus when im older.
It was so cool the other day cuz our city had its annual Christmas parade, and there was a whole procession of old fashioned volvos. I was so excited, like OMG OMG!
i was looking for a car as im 20 and need a new 1 and then i saw the C30 and fell in love with it!:) iv always been a big fan of the books and the fact that it is in the film is a added bonus and shows my obsession with the saga to my mates! lol
