Twilight nominated for NME Awards 2009

SHOCKWAVES NME AWARDS 2009
The Shockwaves NME Awards 2009 nominees have been announced. Your votes have been counted and the shortlists now need your vote to decide the winners.

The Shockwaves NME Awards 2009 will take place at London’s Brixton Academy on February 25 followed by the incredible Big Gig at the O2 Arena on February 26, headlined by our Godlike Genius award winners The Cure.

-Twilight has been nominated for “Best Film of the Year” at the NME Awards 2009.
-Muse are nominated under Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best DVD, and Best Album Artwork.
-Matt Bellamy is nominated for Sexiest Male.
-Laura Marling is nominated for Best Solo Artist.
-Hayley Williams is up for Sexiest Woman.

Yep… New Musical Express. It’s a popular music magazine in the UK, and it’s award shows are pretty cool. Not MTV Award standard, but probably more meaningful to the Brit contingent! Good luck to them

NME has been around since 1952. It is the British equivalent of Rolling Stone Magazine. During the 70′s it was THE place to look for new and hot Punk Rock, Hard Rock and New Wave, New romantics, Mods, Heavy Metal. It is iconic. Any musician appearing on the MTV music awards would only be thrilled and validated by a feature in NME. I sometimes feel MTV is a little silly and more focused on it’s reality shows than on music. NME is the real deal. MTV has lost it’s edge, gone hollywood so to speak. They did feature the cast of Twilight though so they aren’t completely lost…

Finally! I was so annoyed that Twilight didn;t even get nominated once for The BAFTAs. I threw my pen at the tv many times! It deserved so many of those awards! Twilight!!!
