Posted February 10th, 2009 By: 8 Comments »

Today we have New Moon movie news, old Nikki Reed interview, Jackson Rathbone’s S Darko, Whedon on Twilight, New Vampire TV Series, and Robert Pattinson galore.

    New Moon Movie Volterra

  • The crew of New Moon is trying to prevent people from attending the locations where filming will take place by trying to pass off the movie as an Untitled Sports Movie, but sadly the director and filming dates give them away. Source (thanks Tesorito718)
  • Nikki Reed interview before Twilight

  • I love this interview because you get to see her as just an actress picking the scripts and growing as an actress. This interview is pre-Twilight, I think we haven’t seen or heard much from Nikki so I hope you guys enjoy the video. Nikki Reed and Nick Guthe interviewing each other for UnScripted @ Tribeca Film Festival “Mini’s First Time”. Source (thanks Olga)
  • Jackson’s S Darko straight to DVD

  • The S. Darko movie poster in which Jackson Rathbone plays the role of Jeremy, sadly its going staright to dvd. More here (thanks Olga)
  • Imdb

  • I just happen to stumble across the website, and Twilight ist 2nd most searched film of 2008 on IMdB.I Source (thanks Marta)
  • Whedon Q&A: On Vampires, ‘Battlestar,’ More

  • But while Mr. Whedon isn’t rushing back to the graveyard himself any time soon, it turns out he actually kind of likes the beautiful creatures in “Twilight.”
TVWeek: Vampires are big in pop culture right now. Have you seen “Twilight’?
Mr. Whedon: I saw “Twilight.” And it’s—what can you say? It’s absolutely like crack. It strikes a tweener chord that’s just as loud as the apocalypse. You cannot deny the power of it. It just works. And I sort of like that.
TVWeek: What about HBO’s “True Blood”?
Mr. Whedon: I’ve seen less of it. “Twilight” makes its own rules, as we all do. It takes what it wants and discards the rest but ultimately, it is kind of classical. They’re puffy-shirt vampires in a sense. Source (thanks hugz)
  • TV sucks: new vampire drama hits the small screen

  • Looking for a new TV series to sink your teeth into? US network The CW has announced it’s developing a pilot about a young woman who pursues a torrid affair with a vampire.

But the pilot isn’t merely a cut-and-paste Twilight rip-off: it’s based on The Vampire Diaries, a quartet of books first published in 1993… well before impressionable teens started swooning over Edward Cullen. More here (thanks Kat_la)

  • Robert Pattinson relates to Dali

  • He told the Mirror: “I didn’t want to get stuck in pretty, public school roles, or I knew I’d end up as some sort of caricature. “Playing Dali has been a complete turning point for me. It’s the first part I’ve had that has required really serious thought. “I became completely obsessed with Dali during the filming, and I read every biography I could get hold of. “He was the most bizarre, complex man, but in the end I felt I could relate to him.”

  • Robert Pattinson’s stolen accent

  • Rob told the Mirror: “Every actor I like is American – I mean, I always say I’ve stolen things from James Dean’s voice, the way he slurs his words, just for chatting up girls and stuff.” (MyParkMag.com)
  • Robert Pattinson’s exam success

  • The Twilight actor explained to the Daily Mirror: “I was at a small private school in London, I wasn’t very academic. “My dad said to me, ‘OK, you might as well leave, since you’re not working very hard’. “When I told I him wanted to stay on for my A-levels, he said I’d have to pay my own fees, then he’d pay me back if I got good grades.” Rob put in the work and came out with an A and two Bs – but his father still didn’t pay. He added: “My dad told me a lot of stories. I would never buy a car from him.” Source
  • Robert Pattinson stays grounded

  • “You know, I’ve failed at so many things in my life that I’m not afraid of anything anymore. “So now I’m like, ‘If it crashes, it crashes (laughs) who cares?” Rob’s mum is also going to help him stay grounded. He explains: “My mum still thinks I’m an idiot. “I’d describe myself as laid-back and not vain.” Source (thanks Kat)

Thank you! for all the odds and ends you send each day!

I really disagree with the fact that alot of fans sites are posting the New Moon alias. I mean, they are obviously not using the real name for a reason and we should respect that! Just let them be, don’t release filming details.

  • acacia

I read the Vampire Diaries when I was younger and re-read them recently. They are amazing books, although not quite as good as the Twilight Saga. I highly suggest you all read them before the pilot hits the CW.

  • Megan

I agree with Acacia. I just started the Vampire Diaries books yesterday (before I even saw this aticle. It is a HUGE coincedence.) And I have fallen in love with them. I have already made it through the first one in lss than a day. I highly suggest reading them before the show comes out.

  • cynthia

Wow…The Vampire Diaries were some of my first Vampire books. Elena, Damon and Stefan….sooo yummy. That series has stuck with me since I read them in like 1996!

  • Cla

I agree with Brooke, there’s a reason behind the film’s pseudonym.
It’s clear that they’re trying to avoid hysterical crowds of fans at key filming points. Those hysterical hordes would obviously, given the little time announced left for filming, make filming longer and more fastidious.

I love Joss Whedon! lol I think thats cool he like Twilight “what can you say? It’s absolutely like crack. It strikes a tweener chord that’s just as loud as the apocalypse. You cannot deny the power of it. It just works. And I sort of like that.” haha he rocks! Anyone know when The Dollhouse is finally gonna come on?? And if they do do a Buffy movie with the original actors they better do it soon, Spike and Angel aren’t supposed to age, and they don’t exactly look like late 20-somethings anymore lol. Ah… I think I am giving up on the dream, he probly wont ever do one, it’s been almost 6 years since Buffy ended, it aint gonna happen :( And Vampire Diaries looks interesting, I looked up the books on Amazon, I think I’m gonna buy them… I think it’s funny Hollywood and CW are gonna try and cash in on the new Vampire phenomenon, but if the show goes good then thats cool. I wish they had just left Moonlight on tho, I really liked that show :(

  • Kelly

I think the moonlight one still comes on the Sci Fi channel. On friday Nights. Thier schedule is wierd so you just kind of have to check. It was on weekbefore last though.

  • Megan

But to the people reading these books b4 the movie/show comes out….

if u read twilight before the movie i bet u were inda bummed it didnt resemble the books….well thats what ur gonna think when this show comes out if u read the books first.
