Posted July 14th, 2009 By: Evie 6 Comments »

We have great odds and ends for you today including: updates for the Minneapolis Twi/Tour, Daniel Radcliffe talks Rob Pattinson, a town overrun with Vampires, Muse to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards and Tom Felton looks at the role of Riley.

Twilight Minneapolis: Guest change and Updates

  • We wanted to update all on another guest change for TWILIGHT MINNEAPOLIS: TWI/TOUR 2009 this coming weekend (JULY 17-19, 2009). Ashley Greene’s management has advised us that she has booked photo shoots with IN STYLE Magazine and VOGUE that conflict with her contracted appearance at our convention. Unfortunately she will not be able to be with us but we hope to invite her back next time Twi/Tour comes to Minneapolis. We are happy to announce that we have TWO replacement guests filling in, they are THE WOLF PACK’s CHASKE SPENCER (NEW MOON’s SAM ULEY) and BRONSON PELLETIER: (NEW MOON’s JARED). CHASKE and BRONSON will of course be signing complimentary autographs for our Gold and Preferred Weekend Patrons. For more information, click here.
  • MTV: Daniel Radcliffe Talks Rob Pattinson

  • MTV has a cute little interview with Daniel Radcliffe where he talks about how well he doesn’t know Rob, and his thoughts on Twilight. Watch the video, click here.

Residents of Forks, Washington State, are still stunned by what a piece of assiduous Googling from Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has unleashed on their town. Looking for the US’s rainiest location in which to set her vampire series, she lighted upon the small town, population 3,221. Fans of the books and film, based around Bella Swan and her dreamy vampire love interest Edward Cullen, began pouring into Forks. Today hundreds visit the town daily; its visitor count for June was more than 8,000 – around the number who used to come in a year. Restaurants have Twilight-themed menus with dishes such as Bellasagne, shops sell Twilight items, and tours cover the books’ locations. To read more, click here.
  • ‘Twilight’ Fans Rejoice: Muse To Perform At The Video Music Awards

  • Stephenie Meyer’s favorite band is scheduled to take the stage on September 13
On September 13, the MTV Video Music Awards will return home to New York City, taking over spots all around the Big Apple, including the iconic Radio City Music Hall. Outrageous Brit Russell Brand will once again serving as the emcee, and the show will feature high-powered performances from the likes of Taylor Swift and Muse. It’ll be the British art-rockers first U.S. TV appearance, and they’ll be unveiling “Uprising,” the first single off their much-anticipated album, The Resistance. And while they might not be a household name in the States just yet, we’re betting that’s going to change real soon, thanks in no small part to a little series of books called “Twilight.” To read more, click here.
  • ‘Eclipse’ Casting Call: Tom Felton Could Play Riley In The Third ‘Twilight’ Movie

  • Maybe its his boyish good looks, his charming smile or his perfectly mastered snarl, but there’s something about Tom Felton that makes us want more. The “Harry Potter” star is sure to wow audiences with his tortured portrayal of Draco Malfoy in tomorrow’s (!) “Half-Blood Prince” and maybe even earn some Oscar buzz now that the Academy Awards have opened themselves up to 10 nominees. But, there is a different sort of buzz going on from a fan circuit often found opposing “Harry Potter”: “Twilight” fans are clamoring for Tom to play Victoria’s lackey Riley in 2010’s “Eclipse.” Tom isn’t the first guy “Twilight” fans have latched onto for the role. First Melissa Rosenberg, screenplay scribe for “The Twilight Saga,” threw a curveball when she told E! News she pictured Channing Tatum as Riley in the epic battle at the end of “Eclipse.” Then, Evil Iguana Productions fans rampaged the comments section of the article begging for Craig Deering to be cast as the role of Riley. Tom is one in a long line of fan-favorites to play the role, but he is quickly becoming the most popular. To read more, click here.

GO TOM!!!!!! I want TOM the sexy Slytherin to be Riley! And I saw all of the MTV Harry Potter videos – hilarious!

  • Chelle

I think Tom Felton would suite Riley. Wow, that would make him the third HP star to overlap with Twilight? Maybe all this nonsense competition between the two series will finally see some end?

ha ha! i luv the Daniel Radcliffe video! hilarious! i noticed sumthing-he speaks very fast! lol! and i reckon that Tom Felton shud be Riley. that wud be AWSUM!!!!!! do u think that we cud handle another Harry Potter actor in Twilight?

  • Lillith von Ulf

I wish the video of Daniel Radcliffe would play in “my region”.

Tom Felton would be pretty good as Riley – even though that is such a bitty part. Would also be kinda nice to keep the ‘tradition’ of using newbies, though.

I’m worried about the cast dropping off the con circuit too – I’m making the trek from Canada to New Jersey in August, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t get gypped on it because our faves have ‘other commitments’. If one is *contracted* to appear, should one not schedule one’s other obligations for another time?! I mean, substituting other cast doesn’t make up for a drop out – especially if that drop out is the very reason you’ve purchased the very overpriced tickets to the con in the first place!

And also, *go Muse*!!! Yay :)

ahhhhh NO to Tom Felton, nothing against him but he is a major player in Harry Potter and already have a franchise fame fan base, it was different with Rob because his character was killed off in one movie. Let Harry Potter characters stay with Harry Potter and let Twilight characters grow in their own way without riding the coattail of harry Potter

YES TO Evil Iguana Productions to CRAIG DEERING!!!!!!!! HAVE YOU SEEN THE SPOOFS, THEY ARE GENIUSES!!!!!!!!!!!!
