MTV.com: Robert Pattinson Teams With Rosario Dawson For ‘Parts Per Billion’

  • Sure, we’ve devoted ample time to “Little Ashes” and “How to Be,” two long-ago-wrapped indie films that should hit theaters in 2009, marking Robert Pattinson’s first appearances after his “Twilight” breakthrough. But now all eyes are on “Parts Per Billion,” the first film that the 22-year-old leading man will shoot as a certified star. Read more here (thanks hugz)

  • New Jacob?

  • Michael Copon (the actor who played Felix in One Tree Hill) has a facebook status up that’s saying he’s the “older” Jacob Black. Don’t know if anyone else has heard anything, but just figured I’d give you a heads up. (thanks jessica)
  • Success Of ‘Twilight’ Kills Planned Remake Of Gory Vamp Romance ‘Near Dark’

  • “Twilight” is becoming a power to be reckoned with. According to Empire, the success of the film has killed Platinum Dunes’ plans to remake the Kathryn Bigelow’s 1987 vampire classic, “Near Dark.”
“Near Dark is probably not going to happen,” says producer Brad Fuller. “I think that ‘Twilight’ was the same type of thing we were going for although ‘Near Dark’ was a much darker, sexier, rated R version of that. But I’m concerned that, conceptually, that ‘Near Dark’ and ‘Twilight’ are too similar in terms of a vampire movie. For now, that movie is on hold … The concept of ‘one person’s a vampire, the other person isn’t and they’re in love,’ with the success of that film, we would not measure up. It’s not the right time to make that.”Read more here (thanks hugz)
  • After economic struggles, Forks bites back with vampire tourism

  • How would Forks survive without its two principal industries? One word: Innovation. “Forks Bites” hats, mugs and tees are sold everywhere. There’s even a sign as you leave town: “Fangs for visiting. Be bite back.”
It’s said that the Chinese symbol for change incorporates the figures for “chaos” and “opportunity.” Forks was able to survive by recognizing and seizing the opportunity within its own economic troubles. And it did so without a bailout. Read more here (thanks hugz)

Thanks to everyone who contributes to odds and ends. Keep sending them and we will keep posting them.

Two things I never expected to see or read about – “vampire tourism” and vampires playing baseball. Very funny and very cool at the same time -almost wish I lived in Forks-can you imagine how much fun that would be.
As a vampire fan in general, I had hoped that the success of Twilight would mean more vampire movies. But now that Near Dark has been “put on hold”, I guess this isn’t going to happen either. You would think success would breed success-don’t understand why they think because it’s not like Twilight, it won’t make money. No, it wouldn’t make 35 million in 1 day, but still. If it’s a good script and not a complete gore-fest, I think with all the interest in vampires, there’s opportunity out there right now and Hollywood should be jumping at this!

I hope the rumor about a new Jacob isn’t true. If they had wanted an older, taller, more muscular Jacob they should have cast Michael Copon in the first place. Now that Taylor Lautner has established himself as Jacob in the hearts of so many fan, quite frankly, IT’S TOO LATE. We want Taylor to stay in the role of Jacob. I don’t care how tall he is or isn’t or how young or old he looks, he is already Jacob Black. For me, it’s a done deal. I will boycott the future movies, if Taylor doesn’t stay as Jacob.

  • Christopher Black

If you guys follow the series of the Twilight Novel Series, Michael Copon is perfect for this role, he not only fits the description because of height and looks more like the character, he also can act if you guys seen him on The Scorpion King 2: Rise of A Warrior, he did his own stunts as well.

  • T

i am ALL for michael copon! i did see scorpion king 2 and i was imagining him as jacob when i read the books.

  • Shauna

Michael Copon as Jacob…ughhhhh! I’ve seen this guy at some of the clubs and he is an ASS! He knows he is good looking and therefore feels entitled. He should stay away from acting and stick to modeling.
