OHIO rumors, Robert and Harlequin, Stephenie on the charts, Little Ashes and Adventureland (Kristen), FaceinHole new image and more in today’s odds and ends:

 
    “Ohio” movie cast may include Robert Pattinson

  • Rumors are rampant stating that Robert Pattinson, Zac Efron, and Justin Timberlake are being courted for roles in Ohio, the film based on the 1970 murders of anti-Vietnam War protesters at Kent State University.
    Star Magazine is claiming that Timberlake, and Efron, are upset that Pattinson who is a newcomer in their eyes, has been offered a leading role – according to a tabloid spy. Source (thanks hugz)

    I would just like to say that Justin Timberlake and Zac Efron have no room to talk they were newcomer’s and they got leads in the movie’s they were in. Besides Rob has leading man written all over him. I don’t think he would have been picked for Twilight other wise.

    Could the reason be that Rob is up for the leading role is because he is the only one out of the three that can actually act and looks mostly the part of a soldier? Justin and Zac are way to metrosexual and gay looking. Rob has some edge.

    I certainly hope that if this “Ohio” movie is to be made, that it is made with respect and honor. I am an alumni of Kent State and it is a VERY profound subject there. Every May 13, the entire campus shuts down and the whole town is silent. It’s more than a moment or two of reflection. This event is remembered every moment.

    No disrespect to Mr. Efron, Mr. Timberlake, or Mr. Pattinson, but none these young men are exceptional actors (perhaps they will be someday, who can know?), they are just teen heartthrobs. I really do not believe they should be in a movie of this magnitude.

    It alarms me to think that the crazy fans might scream and go ga-ga over how cute one of them is in this film, when it’s such a painful memory for so many people.

    I agree that in respect to those whom lost their lives and the living that this project should be treated with the utmost care. But, to say Robert Pattinson isn’t an exceptional actor at a website that believes he is, is rude beyond recall. In my opinion I’d rather see RP in Ohio vs ZE or JT. Not just because I am a Twilight fan, but because he wouldn’t only out of respect for those effected but out of respect of movie making in general would do the very most he could to bring truth to the role. Just because he hasn’t been in a lot of movies, doesn’t mean he isn’t a fantastic actor. Sure there might be a few fans that would go ga-ga just because it’s RP OR JT oOR ZE. But I would say a majority of RP fans wouldn’t be like that, there are some, but not all of us are teeny boppers.

    I have grown up and still live near Kent State and was born 10 days before that horrible event took place. I want to see any movie made about that event be taken very seriously and given the proper treatment.

    So needless to say I’m not a teen and I admire Rob’s acting skills. I think Rob would give this part the utmost respect. He seems to take all his roles very seriously and doesn’t appear to take on “fluff” roles like JT or ZE have.

    I agree with Amy and Brandi…. I, too, was born in the early 70s and though I am, no doubt, not as familiar with the Kent State massacre, I still think that Rob would take the role more seriously than the other said actors. Rob has a degree of seriousness and intensity about him that I don’t see in the other two. Give him a shot, I think he would be very respectful to the part and to the people it’s affected.

    Let’s remember the source-a tabloid spy-claims that Justin and Zac are upset. Like there’s always tons of truth with those sources. Remember they like to cause a buzz just like this-to upset people and get them to read their garbage.
    I think all the actors would do their best ttreat the material with respect and seriousness, and I do think that Rob would do a very good job as he really does seem to take not only his material, but himself seriously.

    I don’t know much about Justin, but I think Zac is an awesome actor. I think he did a great job in the HSM movies. Whether you like the movies or not, he did a good job acting. I think the majority of the reason people say they dislike him is because he was in HSM. Which isn’t his fault in the least.

    And I don’t think ANY of those 3 should be considered as new comers.

    Anyway, if they cast Rob, I think it might make the movie a hit for the wrong reasons. Rob has become so famous now because of Twilight, so as soon as people find out he’s the one in Ohio, they’ll flock to see that movie. The movie should be seen because of it’s message, if it has to do with history. And people might not get that message if they’re just watching the movie to see Rob.

    But then again, it could work two ways. It could happen like that, or it could happen where Rob’s presence causes people to see the movie and, in turn, to get the message.

    I guess it depends on how you look at it.

    I will see any movie Rob is in. I am a canadian so I don’t know the background of this film. But I am postive that Rob could do it justice. He is amazingly talented……..he has been around for awhile….but just in the UK. I would love to see him in different leading roles…..cause I am selfish and want MORE of Mr. Pattinson! Love him!!!

    I think that Rob is a great actor and whatever role he gets he will do great at… I think that it is awesome that Little Ashes and Adventure Land open the same day… They should go to the other person’s movie.. I think that it is awesome that the Twilght Saga including the Host is in the Top Books in USA Today!!!

    Don’t forget Rob has played a range of roles in his short acting career. The Haunted Airman was by no means a ‘teen hearthrob’ film for instance. I don’t think his being cast as the lead in Ohio will compromise the integrity of the film.

    I do agree with EternalWaterfall that this movie is more about the event than whose in it, but I feel that as versatile an actor Rob is that he will do the movie justice and with respect because that is the type of guy he is and probably why he has so many fans that are crazy about him.

    Looking at other movies Rob has been in like the new one coming out Little Ashes, he wants to be taken seriously and doesn’t even consider himself a heartthrob if you’ve ever watched any interview with him.

    I sincerely think Rob would be right for any one of the roles in the movie and unlike JT and Zac wouldn’t be as petty as to which role he would play. As for JT and Zac from their other movies I don’t see them as being part of it… Shrek the Third and HSM3 were good movies but for something serious like this, not right for it. There are way better actors who would treat this movie with the respect that it deserves.

    wow. Zac Efron is a washed up pretty boy and has no right to be mad. Robert has every right to be considered for the role. Robert has deepth to him and zac and justin are way too cheesy. I can’t see zac efron playing a part like this, nor can i see justin.
