Yours truly, Evie, is here this week to finish Twilight with the Epilogue: An Occasion.

In the final chapter of Twilight, Epilogue: An Occasion; Bella is primped and dressed up by Alice in anticipation of going out with Edward. Once Bella and Edward are in the car on their way, Bella discovers their true destination is none other than the Forks High School Prom. Bella is horrified, having secretly hoped and feared that she was instead being dressed up for a transformation into a vampire. At prom, Bella relaxes as Edward sweeps her around the dance floor atop his feet. The night is interrupted by Jacob Black who brings Bella a message of warning from his father, Billy.

Later in the night Edward explains to Bella that he brought her to prom so she would not miss any human experiences. When Edward finds out that Bella thought she might be transformed that very night, a debate ensues between the two regarding Bella’s mortality. The night ends with Bella and Edward dancing together declaring their love, but neither surrendering their cause.

TAer ifellhard is back with chapter 24 of Twilight.

In “Impasse” Bella awakens in a hospital room in Phoenix hooked up to needles and monitors after being unconscious for several days following the attack in the ballet studio. Bella sees her mother for the first time since moving to Forks and this is the first time that Renee has met any of the Cullens and she learns that Bella has a boyfriend. We also see Bella apologizing for almost dying and Edward blaming himself for her injuries. This chapter also includes the first time that Edward and Bella discuss her becoming a vampire.

Upon waking, Edward is by Bella’s side keeping her from pulling at her IV and she learns the extent of her injuries, including how she had to have a blood transfusion that made her smell “all wrong” to Edward. She also learns that Emmett and Jasper took care of James. Edward clues Bella in on their cover story for what happened and tells her about Alice’s fun fabricating evidence at the hotel. Edward begins to tell Bella that her only job now is to heal and strokes her cheek, it creates an embarrassing situation for her because the monitors begin beeping and Edward won’t be the only one that would know that her heart was racing with his touches and kisses.

Renee returns to the room and Edward pretends to sleep in a chair while she and Bella talk. Bella learns that Phil has been signed by a team in Jacksonville and Renee begins telling her how much she’ll love living there and describes their house. Bella tells her that she wants to stay in Forks and Renee asks if Edward has anything to do with it. Not wanting to let her mother know too much, she tells her that, “He’s part of it.” Renee tells Bella that she thinks that Edward is in love with her and she tells her mom that she’s pretty crazy about him. Not really wanting to have a conversation about how much she’s really in love with Edward after Renee expresses concern about Bella being too young to be so serious, Bella tells her that, “It’s just a crush.”

Renee leaves and Edward expresses his surprise at Bella’s decision to stay in Forks. Bella points out that Edward wouldn’t be able to go out during the day in Jacksonville and he tells her that he would stay in Forks – someplace where he couldn’t hurt her anymore. Bella’s heart rate speeds up and she begins to hyperventilate. Bella begs Edward not to leave her. They have a conversation about how she’s tired of being Lois Lane and he tells her that he doesn’t mind saving her, except for the fact that he’s the one putting her in danger. Bella tells him that he’s the reason she’s alive yet he continues to berate himself, confessing that he was afraid of killing her himself when sucking out the venom. Bella asks Edward again to never leave her. He never actually makes the promise, but tells her that he doesn’t seem to be strong enough to stay away.

Forgetting that Edward does not know what Alice told her about becoming a vampire, Bella asks him why he didn’t just let the venom spread. Edward is furious that Bella was told how to become a vampire and states that he will not change her. Despite her arguments, Edward refuses to end her life and change her. Bella points out that Edward isn’t the only vampire that she knows. Edward’s eyes go black and he tells her that, “Alice wouldn’t dare.” Bella guesses that Alice has already seen a vision of her as a vampire and knows that it will happen someday. Edward quickly points out that Alice also saw Bella dead. Bella tells Edward that he’ll never catch her betting against Alice. Edward and Bella stare at each other for a while and Bella asks where this leaves them. Edward informs her, chuckling, “I believe it’s called an impasse.”

Despite her protests, Edward calls the nurse to give Bella more pain medication. Edward reminds her that she needs rest to heal and that their arguing isn’t going to do her any good. Edward tells Bella he loves her and she tells him that she loves him, too. They kiss and Bella’s last mumbled words to Edward are, “I’m betting on Alice.”

TAer Claire is back with chapter 23 of Twilight.

In Chapter Twenty-Three, The Angel, Bella wakes from her encounter with James, writhing in pain. She hears an angel
Edward, and also Carlisle and Alice tending to her. She can barely speak as they ask her questions. She hears other noises in the studio that she cannot determine. Among her injuries are broken ribs and a broken leg. Bella is at first unable to tell them what is causing her the worst pain. She finally cries out about the fire
and Edward and Carlisle realize that James bit her hand. Edward is forced to make the decision he knows that he cannot make – to allow Bella to join his world. Carlisle then offers him an equally difficult option, one that requires the ultimate restraint: to suck the venom from the wound, allowing Bella to remain human, without killing her.

Throughout the ordeal, Bella floats in and out of consciousness. She is aware of Edward’s presence and realizes when he has successfully removed the venom. He declares his love for her before carrying her in his arms from the studio.

TA staff member Emily is back with chapter 22 of Twilight Previously, in Chapter Twenty-One, “Phone Call”, Bella receives a phone call from James and is frightened to learn that her mother has been kidnapped by the evil vampire and would kill her if she didn’t agree to his demands. Chapter Twenty-Two, “Hide-and-Seek ”, finds Bella facing death as she races to save the people she loves. Will she succeed?

After finishing her goodbye letter to Edward, Bella formulates a plan to escape from Jasper and Alice’s watch. She is nervous that Alice is on to her plan but luck is on her side as Alice’s attributes the changes in her visions as deviations made by James.

At the airport, just minutes before Edward is due to land, Bella makes a run for it while misleading Jasper into thinking she is taking a human moment. With her knowledge of the airport, Bella manages to flee in a hotel shuttle before Jasper and Alice could catch up with her. Arriving at Renee’s house, Bella calls James at the phone number he left on her fridge and asks for her next instructions. She is to meet him at her old ballet studio.

Running as fast as she can, Bella arrives at the ballet studio only to find that James had tricked her with an old home movie and that Renee has been safe in Florida all along. With relief in her heart that her mother, father, and Edward would be safe now, Bella is ready to meet her fate. However, James has other plans in mind.

Disappointed with a lack of a challenge, James informs Bella of his strategy to torture her on tape in order to provoke Edward into a fight which Bella had asked him not to do. While explaining his plan, James also reveals the origins of Alice and how she had been his only target that escaped him. Frozen with fear, Bella is no match for the vicious vampire as James begins his attack.

Bella wakes again to find that Alice has had another vision. As Alice draws a scene on paper, she realizes that James is in Renee’s house. Alice lets Bella know that Edward is coming for her and she, Edward, Emmett and Carlisle are going to leave Phoenix. Bella becomes distraught, thinking of all the danger that those close to her could be in. Jasper attempts to comfort her, to little avail. She goes to her bedroom to wait.

Alice tells her that Edward will be there in a few hours for her when the phone rings. Alice answers it and she realizes that it’s Renee and hands the phone to Bella. Renee appears upset but as Bella tries to calm her down, the sound of the phone drops and James is on the phone. He tells her that in order to save Renee, she must leave Alice and Jasper and follow his instructions.

Bella writes a letter to Edward telling him that she’s sorry and she loves him. She prepares to leave for the airport with Alice and Jasper, doubtful that she will be able to get away, but knowing that she must try.

Bella awakens in a hotel room, unable to recall where she is for a few moments. She rethinks back to the last few hours, the car ride, talking to Alice and Jasper, and the vivid flash backs of her second family, the Cullens, while she spent the last few moments with them in Forks. Bella, worried about Edward and the rest of the Cullens, tells Alice and Jasper her fears for their family. Jasper and Alice tell Bella that there is nothing to fear and that their only concern is for her safety.

Bella asks Alice to tell her how vampires are made and Alice tells her the mechanics of it, warning that Edward will be very upset when he learns that she has revealed this. Alice sees that James’ decision has changed, setting a whole new scene in her head. Edward calls Bella and lets her know that everything is fine and he will come to get her as soon as it is safe. Alice sees that James’ changed his decision again and they realize that he may be in Phoenix. When Bella reaches her house, she is visibly upset and tells Charlie think that she hates living in Forks. She rushes upstairs where Edward is waiting for her, packing her clothes. As she leaves, she cruelly uses the words that Renee said to Charlie so many years before – knowing it is the only way that her father will let her go. She gets to her truck and tries to drive away but Edward is there to drive for her. They find Laurent at the Cullen home, bewildered by the Cullens’ lifestyle and their readiness to protect a human. Before leaving, he warns them about James’ ability and declares that he won’t fight with him or against him. Carlisle and Edward devise a plan while Bella and Esme switch clothes to help mask Bella’s scent.
Edward and Bella exchange a painful goodbye. The Cullens divide and conquer; Edward with Emmett and Carlisle leave together; Esme and Rosalie leave in Bella’s truck. Alice scoops Bella up into her arms as she and Jasper take her away.
