‘Twilight’ Outtake: Extended Prom Remix:

“It is you,” he murmured against my skin. He pulled away and there were white flowers in his other hand.

“Freesia,” he informed me, as he pinned them into my curls. “Completely redundant, as far as fragrance is concerned, of course.” He leaned back, looking me over again. He smiled his heart-stopping smile. “You are absurdly beautiful.”

“You took my line.” I kept my voice as light as I could manage. “Just when I convince myself that you’re actually real, you show up looking like this and I’m afraid that I’m dreaming again.”

He scooped me swiftly into his arms. He held me close to his face, his eyes burning as he pulled me even closer.

“Watch the lipstick!” Alice commanded.

oh my…………..that was sumthin else……..that was really good! though i still think that Stephenie Meyer should have left that in th book! Its still good though…….!! :D

  • alie

    So cute!!!

… and so funny (Watch the lipstick!) I love Alice… and Edward (I mean. who wouldn’t!).

    XOXO

    Alie

  • mallory

I loved it!!! Iwish stephenie would make another version of twilight with al the outakes!

  • Julia

OK. Remember in MS when Edward saw Bella get into her truck on a rainy day, and crank up the heater and dry her hair? And how he said he could only imagine how great the inside of the truck smelled?

Ok, so then how could Jasper stand to be that close to Bella while there’s tons of heat blowing on her? Wouldn’t it push him over the edge of bloodlust??

  • creamy

Julia: That’s a good question. Obviously this is only a short time after the scene in Phoenix. Perhaps he was still in his protective mode.

I like this alot. There were just a few things though that I had to over look and to just let the story flow.

    1. I don’t understand how Charlie is not suspicious of Edward never, ever eating at their house. And, in this instance, to have him as a taster, and Edward not trying a single bite?

    2. And to have Edward watching sports and shouting with Charlie? I don’t see Edward watching or shouting. Very out of character. Of course he could just be trying to get in good with Charlie.

    3. Also, the friendly behavior of Rosalie didn’t seem to fit. Remember in New Moon at the birthday party, Rosalie and Emmett had just returned from a trip. Rosalie was not friendly then either.

So, even though I do like this, I can see how it would not have fit into the book as it is written. I am glad however we have it to read as an outtake.

Oh, also I loved how Edward slammed Tyler! What an idiot!

hehehehhe. iii haave alreaady reead thiis.(:

…all i can say is…i sure wish she would wrire 100 more twilight saga books…. ;o)

  • jenb

I LOVE this version of the prom. It’s so fun & cute. I loved seeing Alice & Bella’s relationship here (Alice is so funny.) I also loved the dinner & Edward seeing Bella in the dress for the first time. So all around I loved it! I wish it was in the book, but I’m glad that Stephenie shared this with us on her site. I’ve read it multiple times on her site already it’s so great!

OMG I love this!I definitely think it should have been kept in Twilight, also I think it would have been a great scene in the movie, we didnt get to see enough of Alice in it in my opinion, and we also get to see Rosalie’s softer side-I agree a new edition of twilight with the extended parts should be released!!

  • jdhuston

Aaaahhhhh….that was a nice bubble. I wondered the same as Creamy about Charlie as taster but excused Edward’s behavior to “the chef is more critical of his own food than the guests.” I really liked the idea of Edward “buttering up” Charlie to show him that he wasn’t such a bad guy by getting into sports. Which kind of goes along with how he behaved prior to his departure in New Moon – although he didn’t yell at the screen then. I thought the sudden watching tv in New Moon was odd. This would have been a nice preface for that behavior… I especially liked how the build up to realizing it was prom was for Bella – how did she miss it?!! (Rosalie’s presence must have been due to Jasper’s amazing powers right? Not to good-naturedness…)

All in all – nice outtake – better than the dream sequence they tried to put into the movie…

  • Decode

I love this outtake! I agree with some of the reasons listed above about how it doesn’t completely fit (Rosalie being friendly, Jasper getting so close, etc) but if those little details had been changed, I would have loved to see that in Twilight! It’s great to see Alice and Bella’s relationship and the dinner beforehand is so so SO sweet! Aww I’m going to pretend it’s part of the book.

  • twilightbloom

This is so incredible! I understand the need to use the shorter version in the book but I love the way that this gives more context and depth to the whole Prom night. I have to agree that it is OOC for Rosalie to be nice but it gives her character another dimension and I like that. One of the things I’ve always been bothered by is that it’s so easy to dislike Rosalie; granted, she rarely does anything to make those around her love her but…I try to find some redeeming trait in everyone; this outtake makes me want to know more about her as an individual and just what it is about her that makes her a valued member of the Cullen family. But maybe that’s just me…
And the dinner is sweet and endearing. I like that!

  • sarah

    creamy
It says on SM’s website that rosalie grew into her ‘anit-bella’ attitude as she was writing, so when she first wrote the book, rose was just as friendly as alice

  • wikki

and just as I was about to recover from edward madness..
    I read this -_-
luckily I already have a great bf..otherwise..I’ll never find one.

I loved it. I love it that he cooks for her even though he cant eat.
I loved it that charlie was fully distracted by the aston martin (as I myself AND my bf would be too) and completely missed bella…and edward was oblivious to it.
    And rosalie was too nice..
as far as I’m concerned..they can do every chapter in the book in every detail no matter how boring or insignificant they maybe ..and I’ll still absolutely love it. 2 very enthusiastic thumbs up. I’m a mess..I know..HAHAHA

  • Danielle

What do you open this with?

  • Sherhonda

She should have kept it because it would have explained the cover of New Moon alittle. No one really gets the Freesia thing.
    This outtake is really cute.

  • altheacullen

I loved it! I wish it was in the book. It was so funny.

And to creamy, here are the (probably) answers to your questions:

    1. Charlie isn’t suspicious of Edward never eating there because, well, he just doesn’t care. And the part where he had Charlie as a tester. It was excusable, I mean he could just say he wanted his opinion on his cooking or something.

    2. Edward WAS (maybe) trying to get in with Charlie.

    3. Rosalie wasn’t really THAT nice. She was just having fun like Alice.

    Hope they were helpful…

I liked this out-take. I enjoyed reading it, but I like book just as it is. If she would have put this in, then there would have been other things that would have to be taken out. In this out-take Bella is already calmed down, so she wouldn’t have been stubborn about getting out of the car and there would have been no need for Edward to tell her that he wouldn’t let go of her all night. That set up for part of his irritation with Jacob. The book would be different. Anyway that’s just my opinion

  • glenda

it was great, i could picture it the whole scene in the kitchen, edward is just perfect, S.M. should have left it in the book, oh! well i am glad i got to read it now

  • Sasa

What can I say… It was all amazing :P Especially the end…. “Take names for me, Charlie” that just mae me crack up lol!

  • girl

hell yeah I do would tihk she should put this in. it’s reat thoug. I hope she is published. twlight foreva!

  • Emma

Ilove this an i think that she should hve kept it in the book.I’ve read the page that it starts on then put this in and it goes realy well (at least i think so )so i think it should have stayed Rosealie is nice then y isnt she in the rest of the book?

  • http://hermione24 Bella Swan

i think Mrs. Meyers should have kept the extened scene in the book and she should have put that into the movie because it would have been nice to see Rosalie all nice and to see what the cullen sisters wore to prom.

  • cynthia

I think that Stephanie Meyer should have kept this part in Twilight.I mean who wouldn’t want to read this in the book?I love Alice and her “watch the lipstick” it would have been nice to have a description of Alice and Bella’s day:)

  • Catherine

i see no reason at all why this was taken out of Twilight! i really do think it’s better than the original ending, i love Edward and Bella time! although, Rosalie is pretty nice to Bella in this outtake and i prefer her being off with her, and so i think that it’s good they left her still hating Bella at the end of the book!

  • http://irishlass13 Erin

I love reading the outtakes and the extras! Even though they may have taken up a little too much room in the novel, or the author decided to go with a different point of view, they add a little more to the characters involved. Alice is my favorite character besides Bella and Edward, and seeing more into her world is always a trip! Every girl should have a best friend like Alice.

  • gc
