VOLTERRA IS ALSO A REAL PLACE

Posted June 20th, 2008 By: Queen B 7 Comments »

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Volterra is a real town as well. The next time we go to Tuscany, I definitely want to try to find this town.

See our VIDEO section to see Stephenie Meyer in Volterra.

I had no idea for the longest time that Volterra was a real place until I read somewhere someone mentioned it in passing and posted a pic. This is the first time I’ve seen several pics of Volterra and get a better picture of what the city looks like. What is AMAZING is that the city is EXACTLY the way I pictured it while reading – exactly! The only difference is I pictured the clock tower as an actual clock tower – the same architecture as the building, but a tower with an old-fashioned clock on it. While I’ve never been to Italy, I’m sure I was influenced by the style of architecture from travel shows as a Travel Channel junkie.

I knew this long ago Stephenie is not creative enough to make up her own cities

I’ve been there. And it’s totally awsome. I actually was staying in Tuscany for two weeks and I went to Volterra with my family. The night when we came home to the apartment we hired I read the chapter i NM when Alice and Bella are going there. I went like “mental”. I just couldn’t get a grip of that I just had been there. And I must say; something about that town was spooky, so we didn’t stay long. I’m so happt that I got to see the town… just one thing: There is NO fountain in the middle of the main plaza xD

I already knew it was a real place. It’s on my list of places I really want to travel to! And if you people are really into Twilight and read all of the books then check out my role playing site for the Twilight Saga
