TA FOLLOWS THE STARS: DAVID SLADE, PETER FACINELLI, TAYLOR LAUTNER AND DAKOTA FANNING
In this edition of TA Follows the Stars we have pictures of David Slade landing in Vancouver, Peter Facinelli leaving Vancouver, and Taylor Lautner and Dakota Fanning out and about the streets of Vancouver.
First we have David Slade. David Slade is the director of Eclipse and he’s up in Vancouver to start scouting locations and to meet with production.

See more pictures of David Slade in our gallery, here.
Next we have Peter Facinelli who was at the airport leaving Vancouver, Lainey was on the plane with him and had this to say:
Around the same time Slade came, Peter Facinelli left. We were actually on the same flight to Vegas. Not sure where he was going. I sat across the aisle from him. He was lovely to fans who approached for photos in the terminal and the only other remarkable detail I can give you is that while I was trying to write The Outcast book review, he was givin’er on his iPod, playing some game that required furious tapping and scrolling and shaking. It was distracting and hilarious and adorable, especially when he became extra spastic with the controller.

Then we have Taylor Lautner who is looking a little sleepy:

And last we have Dakota Fanning who is posing with some fans:

(Thanks Rebecca!)
Wow, Eclipse! I don’t think I can even wrap my head around starting pre-production duties on Eclipse yet. But I suppose they need to get things going so they’re all ready when it’s time to shoot. Peter is always such a sweetie to fans, I’m so glad he is a part of all of this.
What do you think of these pictures? Are you surprised David Slade is already in Vancouver?

I think it makes great sense that David Slade shows up at this juncture, now that they’re filming the Volturi scenes. He probably wants to sit in on some sessions to make sure there is continuity between New Moon and Eclipse when it comes to depicting the Italian vampires. Showing vampires in their full horror is his speciality. 30 Days and 30 Nights was one of the best depictions I’ve seen. He might want to add his thoughts in New Moon so he doesn’t get limited.
In retrospect, the choice of directors for all three movies is brilliant. Catherine Hardwicke to capture the innocence of young love since Twilight is a love story; Chris Weitz for New Moon to bring a wolf pack to life using CGI; and now David Slade who will have an incredible opportunity with the vampire on vampire fights at the end of the Eclipse story.
I think the hardest part will be keeping creativity harnessed so they can stay inside the PG 13 rating.
Ooooh gawd, it’s Friday, I’m almost off of work, I’m here and reading and I’m so excited about New Moon and now Eclipse is about to be on the menu!!!!! Time for Supermassive Black Hole to expend some of this energy.
Thanks to everyone for contributing. I love this place and come here for my fix! MWAH!
Peter Facinelli is hysterical. I can see him in my head playing some game on his iPod while in a plane. That would be so funny to watch him freak out and go spastic!
Someone should tell Mr. Slade that he needs a pair of sun glasses and get use to the camera flash.
LOL I cracked up when I read that she saw Peter Facinelli playing a game on his iPod. I totally am with Nicole.T. on this one - but instead I imagine Carlisle Cullen playing it AHAHAHA xD
