VOLVO ‘NEW MOON’ CONTEST – WHAT DRIVES EDWARD

Yup, I’m entering and have been entering all of the contests.

“I hope a member of TA wins one of these New Moon premiere contests, so we hear all about it”

While I agree unfortunately this particular contest won’t allow that. Here is a bit from #6 under the sweepstakes rules:
“These release documents will also include a standard confidentiality clause whereby the Grand Prize Winner and the Grand Prize Winner’s guest will both be required to agree to not take pictures at the “New Moon” premier and/or meet and greet and will not disclose any information relating to these events to any third party.”

I’ve been to premiers before as well as to after parties and have NEVER had to agree to such a thing. This is truly one of the more bizarro agreements I have ever read. I mean, asking us not to take pictures? That’s a stretch, but ok. But to not TALK about it!? How absurd!

I did sign up for this one- more for the Volvo than the premier. Premiers are more exciting from the red carpet than when inside with everyone watching the movie, IMO. It is one thing to be surrounded by people who are just as excited as you are when you see people walking in than being put into a different screening area than the actual celebrities are in.

This isnt fair!!! Im from Puerto Rico and cant apply to any of the contests!!!! I wish somebody would make a contest in which I could apply or any of the U.S Territory citisens could apply. I wish I lived in the US for this instance to apply to the contest.

I was actually looking into buying the C30 like in twilight. I am looking into buy a new car and checking out the ones that are similar I like that one best. I wouldn’t mind winning this one though! Definitely would rather pay the taxes on winning a car rather than monthly payments!!

You Have the right quotes from Romeo and Juliet, but you have them in the wrong order! The quote is:

Okay…I figured out the table yesterday…here are some hints. 1) The pieces do not move, 2) Concentrate on the middle and work your way out and 3) I haven’t been able to find a picture of the table–I think Volvo is scanning all internet engines to stop people from posting the answers to the Phases! I have solved the puzzles and when I’m through the puzzle is complete, but when I select progress again there is no indication that the puzzle has been completed and when I select it again the same puzzle comes up uncompleted.
I really expected some indication that I had completed the puzzle and that I had a solution when I looked at the progress tab.

thanks for all the help!! table is easy once you know what your doing, start from the inside out and link all the pieces of the crest up first then the rest you just gotta try and find out which pieces fit together and where they go..i copied the pic of the table…any1 know how i can get it on here?

Need help with phase 3!! Can’t figure out how to move Bella….it’s not letting me do anything & it doesn’t tell you what to do, any help with this??

On Phase 3 you move Bella with your keyboard arrows … up, down, left, right. This is the first Phase I’ve actually had a really hard time with. Although I knew they would get harder as the went along. Mazes are not my forte. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can get Bella all the way to the top, but just a few people away from Edward. Arg!

I just achieved getting bella to edward. it was really aggrevating. the only tip i can give you is you pretty much have to cover the whole map of the maze. i carried her to the fountain then went to the left and to the top. and had to come back down through the middle top over to the right and up again. once you know the path the volturi pretty much start moving for you. it took me about 15 tries.

I’ve tried everything and I can’t get Bella to move. Any Help? I tried the arrow keys, mouse etc.

If someone helps me with the maze part I can help them with the clips AND the phrase please get back to me as soon as possible~~

hey i had a hard time with that one too but after a dozen tries lolz i finally got it

-first make your way to the fountain
-after that get toe the right wall but to get there you have to go left first you have the find a path [some people will actually move for you you just have to find them]
-at the right wall there should be 3 people in a row but theres a space in between the first and the 2nd person, move there and go up, he should move and the group in the corner would also move.
- there 2 guys that will get in your way just move around them and the guy in front of edward should move

OK — just completed PHASE THREE and YES, you have to pretty much cover the entire maze. If you can get to the fountain, go the the LEFT, UP, and you are sooo close to Edward, but head back down to the fountain, get the the RIGHT wall and head UP, then back left… now there are those needed ups/downs/left/right, but you will see the red robes move for you! GOOD LUCK

Okay, Once you’re past the fountain go to the right side of the maze… That should make it to Edward that’s what i did to get there…

For phase 3 you can feel the people move out of the way, just keep moving up and down in a small square and you can feel the people moving out of the way leading you to edward. you go left, up, right, left, up, right, down, right, down, right, down, right, up, left, up, left, up, right. This is not exact but you will see yourself moving to the top left then to the middle right back to top right to left middle and then to edward. Good luck to me 4 tries but again you can feel the people moving and leading you to edward.

Help please – I have finished phase 1 and 3 but phase 2 is a big blank nothing on my screen. I have updated flash, tried IE and Firefox but nada, nothing. I go to progress and click on phase 2 ‘moons’ and nothing happens. Grr.

The secret to getting Bella through the Volturi maze has to do with the right hand corner of the puzzle. You’ve got to go all the way to the right hand wall and there are ‘men’ that will move out of the way for you! Good luck!

hi, just to let you know phase 3 isnt that difficult you will find that there are people that move for you all the way through the maze, when you start there will be people that move on the left hand side and the same when you get to the fountain, but after thee fountain you start to move to the right side and back to the fountain this is normal just keep following the path and you will get to edward x x

Oddly enough, these directions, which I first didn’t understand, were the ones that helped me. After folling them once I got through to Edward. Thank you. I was beginning to think I should give up! The first two phases were too easy, I should have known that they would get harder.

Help, i keep trying to get to Edward in phase 3. I get to him and it says you have to sign in even i am already signed in?????

I’ve seen so many other people with the same problem! Phase 3 and no working on the mouse or keyboard. Does anyone have any idea what can be done if you can’t move Bella? I’m in the UK and all has been well until this bloody phase, have tried EVERYTHING several times and am now just p’ed off!

I cant save edward! i get so close an each time the last guy never moves!1 i dont think they made him to move! help!

I just got there! Go to the left and then back down to the right and then up! The guys move if you are going the right way!

Oh my gosh! After like 100 times and a whole lot of stress I finally got it! Im like relieved I was getting so mad! Anyway Get all the way over to the right wall, the very last squares then they will all get out of your way. Its a little difficult but it will work. DO NOT GO TO THE LEFT! It will only frusterate you and its pretty much impossible because you get so close and then like no one moves. So STAY TO THE RIGHT!

ooooommmmmgggg phase 3 was so hard it was unbelivable but literally you have to stay to the right go to the fountain go all around the left first then go to the right and the guys on the wall will move and it will take you to edward don’t lose ur patience just try different ways like i did good luck

I DID IT!!! I just completed Phase 3 You start at the bottom, go a little to your left….go up…then back to your right…go up to the fountain….then to your left kind of at the bottom of the fountain…then up the left side…then acrodd the top of the fountain to your right…go down on the right…then get to the very last line on the right side AND GOOO UPPP….then the people will just move right out the way for you. This took me 2 nights to figure out, but last night after the 20th time, i realized that there was a pattern that you have to follow…GOOD LUCK EVERYONE…

I got the clips with no major problems,and the phrases I googled and it came up pretty quickly.The glass table wasnt as hard as I thought.Now I am stuck trying to get Bella to Edward.I get her right next to the man who is near Edward and then thats as far as I can go,its driving me crazy!!!!!…But so excited I ordered my tickets for New Moon this morning and also tickets to watch the first Twilight movie since they will be playing that at 9 pm on the 19th.Will be a fun night of both movies.Never saw Twilight on big screen,only DVD..Well good luck to all who are trying to get through all these phases!

Thanks Mel UGH what a pain!!!!! If the arrows are not working make sure you are CLICKING onto the page before you move the arrows or it won’t work.

When you complete a puzzle, how is that indicated on the progress bar. My progress bar shows no change and when I click on that phase again the same puzzle again. In other words there is no progress information on the progress tab.
Can someone tell me if they see something different from the progress tab? Can you actually tell which phases you’ve completed (and the solutions accepted by Volvo)?

phase 3 is hard, but not impossible. once you get past the fountain, you gotta move left and the find the way to the right wall, you need to find 3 people next to the wall, there is a space between move there, and then go up. the rest should be easy.

I did it earlier and that combo worked. Are you getting the “Try Again” or is your screen freezing? Mine kept freezing so I thought it was wrong; eventually signed in again and got my moons. Plus the poll is still live, but I’m not sure that would have anything to do with it.

If you have issues with the trailers go to http://www.youtube.com and google new moon trailer. It’s trailer 3, HD and is like over 2 min long. I watched and paused it when I saw a clip that was on the puzzle.

for the maze all you have to do is work your way up through the fountain then go left top work your way through the middle to the right wall. then go up and everyone will move……and you can save edward

I can’t find my way to keep playing the phases! I’ve played the first few, but when I got to the What Drives Edward site I don’t know where to go to play the phases or see my progress. The only tabs I see are “Sign In”, “Rules”, “Library”, and “Share.” Plus a spot to register, which I have already done…HELP ME! =(

The maze was not hard. just concentrate on which ones move when you get close to them. Follow the ones that move away whe you are close.

Yay!!! I’m so excited! I finally got through the maze!!! I want to help, but I can;t replay or anything so I’m just going off my memory.
Basically you…

- Find your way to the fountain.
- Look at the fountain, see the “dot” in the middle? Make Bella stand RIGHT above it. Then go to the left and keep on trying to get Bella throught the crowd by there (sorry, again, bad memory…but really your should be able to get it.
- Go up…once there, you’ll find a long line of the Volturi. YOU CAN’T GET THROUGH THEM THEN!
- Work your way to the right wall.
- Once at the wall, you will have to go down a lot. Just make sure you do stay to the right.
- Once you get down, and to the right at one point you should be able to go straight up and have all the soilders or whatever they are to move out of your way.
- Then go back up and the rest you can figure out your self!

I realize after reading over that it was REALLY confusing…but I hope it helped a little!

And when your finished with the maze, here is the next puzzles answers:

3. Panoramic roof

5. Cargo volume

If you’re in the UK then 5 and 6 on phase four aren’t the same as the US- 5 is power tailgate and 6 is active bending headlamps

go towards the fountain, go left and up and then go back to towards the fountain and to the right wall and up… the men start moving for you… someone said this earlier and I tried it out (it worked) :0) good luck!

Dana,it may be a stab in the dark but there is shot in the trailer of the woman with blond hair and red eyes? she is at the beginning and end of the trailer, just make sure you have her at the end as its a slightly different shot. sorry if I am pointing out the obvious just i made the same mistake initially as I was toooo keen.

Hi, I’m busy with the UK New Moon Volvo competition. I am absolutely clueless with the latest phase…phase 5, I am not sure what the word is? Any help would be appreciated if anyone has figured it out. Thanks!! x

I am on the phase just after the “ratings” one and there are NO instructions!!!!! I don’t know what to do!!!! HELP PLEASE!!!!

Go to newmoonthemovie.com. Keep your mouse over the pause button, then every 15 to 30 seconds, hit pause. After Jane(Dakota) says “This may hurt just a little” Her picture is SECOND to last, then the 11.20.09. I posted this because not everone seems to be getting it too easily.Has anyone figured out phase 5? It gives you no instructions, and I’ve tried different things like “Palazzo de grande” (I think that’s what Alice told Bella to ask for), Bellas window….different directional things and such. Nothing’s working, but it looks a little like a blue print…..

Phase 5 is SO confusing!!! It’s supposed to be a blue screen with lines (kind of like a blue print I think) but there are NO instructions and I have typed in SO many things to try and figure it out…….anyone have any suggestions??

guys you do realize the instructions say whoever figures out all the phases FIRST is the winner of the car… why would you be giving away answers to your competitors?! the fewer people there are at the end, the bigger the chance of you winning…

you Do have to be the FIRST who completes all phases to win the car. Just read the rules carefull. I agree with Nancy, giving away the right answers in this competition just doesnt make any sense. Andrea, trust me, there is gonna be some friendly competition, millions participating! And if you guys have some patience and can think a little, the phases are not hard at all. Good luck..

Someone said Forks High School was on Spartan Street. James Island is off La Push. But they didn’t know about Lincoln. I mapquested all this just to see for myself. I found a Lincoln theatre in Port Angeles. Maybe this is where Bella, Jacob, and Mike go to the movies together. What do the rest of you think?

holy crap, that last phase was HARD!! idk why lincoln matters in twilight, but all i know is that if phase 5 was that hard, the last is going to be IMPOSSIBLE….all i know is that i’m nearly eighteen, STILL dont have a car and need one for college next year, and it’d be amazing to have one like edward’s… LOL xD i think i’d die of a heart attack if i managed to win! watch, either the puzzle will be completely impossible or super easy to make it interesting…LOL

Spartan is the name of the street of the high school in forks
James Island is next to La Push.
Lincoln is where they got the parts for the motorcycles the building is an auto parts store.

for phase 3 go through the fountain to the top left and work your way through the middle to the right wall and go straight up and everyone will move.

I wanted to thank everyone who has helped me on some of the hard parts of the phases. To those who are concerned about the help given… if you think about it the only way for you to help is to finish the phase before those who need the help, right? So whats the harm? It is fun to play and those of us who come here looking for help probably know we won’t win, but its nice to be included.

OH MY GOD.
I tried it like 100 times. I always went up to the fountain and to the left. I assumed it was the right way because the volturi would always move for me (so i thought i was on the right track).

Well I got on here and looked at everyones comments, so i tried going to the right side. I did that and at first I was skeptical, but it worked! I cant believe it! I’m so ecstatic!

So I guess those of us serious about winning this probably should figure out what the tax would be to pay on this “free” volvo? I wonder what the value of it is?

I have completed all but phase 2 – It will not load have been trying for days and all I get is the spinny time thingy.

Hey guys! i think this is such an awesome oppurtunity that the volvo corporation is doing! i have a baby boy on the way and a 2 door honda civic..02, and no money to buy a 4 door because i am having to save it all for the little man! i know my chances in winning are 1 in 100932093902 but it would definitely be nice, for the safety of my baby! thats the only reason i’m doing this! i do love the twilight series, but this little angel i am carrying inside of me is more important to me than anything in this world! i just pray that i can be lucky enough to win! =)

tax on car is roughly 5k. its a 50k car. No you guys arent imagining stuff. I haven’t been able to get to the last puzzle either and i was logged in 15 min before they launched. then the server died. Someone else probably won the car already

Hey, the same thing happened to me. I went straight to the volvo website, then to the edward page, and i was in. Hopefully it works for everyone.Phase 6 is crazy and i cant get it. its like the maze in phrase 3 but there are letters.

not sure about phase 6. i think you have to “create” a maze of your own, connecting all the letters in a specific order. not sure tho.

Took forever to find a way to the website. Finally went through link posted here. I too have been through all the cast names and have not been able to get through. I’m sure someone has won by now. I agree with the other person that this is jacked!

after you get through the maze there is a year calander and it says where you put the new moons is up to you but if you know of a change in edwards life it may make a change in yours and for the life of me i can’t think of anything and where the moons would go theres no numbers just days of the week

I tried the new moons on the 2009 calander and that is not it.. The name is someone you wouldn’t expect it’s not Jacob or Edward and she’s trying to get to him. I’m trying to think of dates in the movie and book and I can only think of Bella’s birthday I don’t get it

You have to put the new moons to fit the 1918 chicago cycle…it was not easy…but I know several people solved it before me LOL

solved the final puzzle too I’m happy I finished the contest even through I won’t remotely win.

The name is ARO. Then you have to put the new moons where they would be on a 1918 calendar. The answers above are right, but as long as it took me to do, I’m sure they already have a winner.
I don’t see how someone would have completed fast and finished first when the website wasn’t even accessible when it was time for the new phase.

Thanks for all the help — I was putting way too much thought into the puzzle 7 trying to use all the letters & spell out a phrase (i.e. Da Vinci Code) to open up whatever was next. And, had no idea there would be something else after that… you all rock & I know it’s so late now that I can be the winner so congrats to whoever was smart enough to get this. It was frustrating but alot of fun!!!!

So, I live in the central time zone, which means that when it’s 12:59am in eastern time, it’s 11:59pm here, so I thought that the puzzle wasn’t coming out until the night of th 22nd, when really it had been out all day. Life sucks sometimes.
