Michael Sheen and Chris Weitz Films Nominated for Academy Awards
Early this morning, the nominations were announced for this year’s Academy Awards. Michael Sheen’s (Aro) Midnight in Paris has been nominated for an Oscar for “Best Picture”, “Best Original Screenplay”, “Best Director” and “Best Art Direction”, while the lead actor in Chris Weitz’s A Better Life, Demián Bichir, has been nominated in the “Best Actor” category. In addition Bryce Dallas Howard’s (Victoria in Eclipse) The Help was also nominated under “Best Picture” (as well as getting some “Best Actress” and “Best Supporting Actress” nominations). Finally, Jamie Campbell Bower and Xavier Samuel’s Anonymous was nominated for “Best Costume Design” as well. The 84th Academy Awards will be held on February 26th, 2012 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, and broadcast on ABC. Check it all out below:

I’m personally thrilled to see Demián Bichir nominated for Best Actor, I think that’s a pretty big deal. And on a lighter note, I’m pretty excited to see “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets nominated for Best Original Song… seriously, it’s genius. If you haven’t seen Midnight in Paris, go rent it now, Michael Sheen is unbelievably funny!
