I’m personally thrilled to see Demián Bichir nominated for Best Actor, I think that’s a pretty big deal. And on a lighter note, I’m pretty excited to see “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets nominated for Best Original Song… seriously, it’s genius. If you haven’t seen Midnight in Paris, go rent it now, Michael Sheen is unbelievably funny!

Xavier Samuel Talks ‘Twilight’, ‘Anonymous’ and Mistaken Identity

Posted October 26th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

Xavier Samuel appears in the latest issue of BlackBook Magazine, where he chats about some mistaken identity, what it was like to be involved with Anonymous and the impact of Twilight on his life. Read more below:

While in Berlin last year shooting Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous, Xavier Samuel decided to take advantage of a rare night away from set to hit the clubs with his younger brother, Benedict, who was visiting from the suburbs of Sydney. Samuel, who plays vampire Riley Biers in the galactically popular Twilight saga, wanted to cut loose, unnoticed, among the crowds. “We walked up to the door of one bar, and people started screaming at my brother: ‘Jamie! Jamie! Jamie!’” says the 27-year-old actor.

“So he started posing for pictures and signing autographs.” The throngs had mistaken Benedict for Jamie Campbell Bower, Samuel’s Anonymous costar, both of whom boast long, meticulously tangled heads of hair. “The next morning, there was a photo of Benedict and me in one of the papers over a caption that read, ‘Jamie Campbell Bower and friend in Berlin.’ And friend? Come on!” From the shrub-encased patio at Culina inside the Four Seasons Los Angeles, the Australian shakes his head and lets out a laugh.

I can’t believe that anyone mixed up Xavier’s brother and Jamie Campbell Bower. I’ve never thought that Jamie and Xavier look similar at all.

PopSugar recently spoke with Xavier Samuel (Riley in Eclipse) as he promotes his movie, Anonymous, a movie he stars in along with fellow Twilight cast member, Jamie Campbell Bower. Here Xavier chats about some mistaken identity, what he’s looking forward to seeing on the big screen in Breaking Dawn, his role in Anonymous and an role in A Midsummer’s Night Dream. Enjoy the interview below:

Xavier Samuel may be best known as Riley in Eclipse, but the Australian actor takes on a new challenge with a part in this month’s period piece, Anonymous. The movie explores the mystery behind Shakespeare and happens to costar one of Xavier’s Twilight saga cohorts, Jamie Campbell Bower. During our talk, Xavier told a funny story about a case of mistaken identity involving him, his little brother, and Jamie, and also weighed in on what he’s looking forward to seeing on screen in Breaking Dawn. He even admitted to playing one of the female characters in A Midsummer’s Night Dream during his college days. Check out our interview to hear Xavier’s story, and be sure to catch Anonymous when it hits theaters on Oct. 28!

I’m looking forward to Anonymous, even if the premise is a bit bizarre.

Jamie Campbell Bower and Xavier Samuel at the Press Conference and Screening for ‘Anonymous’ at the TIFF

Posted September 14th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

Jamie Campbell Bower and Xavier Samuel were both on hand for the big debut of their movie, Anonymous, at the Toronto International Film Festival this year. What could be better than two of our fantastic Twilight actors in the same picture? Both guys were not only on hand for the screening of Anonymous, but both attended the press conference as well. Check it all out below:

From a purely style standpoint, the winner of Saturday’s best-dressed cast at a press conference goes to the team behind Anonymous, the whodunit questioning the authenticity of the works of William Shakespeare. The cast — including Rhys Ifans, Jamie Campbell Bower and the handsome Joely Richardson, whose elegant mother Vanessa Redgrave also appears in the film though was unable to attend the conference — were dressed to the nines.

“I was deeply flattered that Roland cast me as such a sexy young man,” said Ifans, referring to both Roland Emmerich, the film’s director, and Campbell Bower, who plays his younger self in the film.

“I feel the same,” said Campbell Bower, whose hair grew blonder the closer it got to the tips.

“Thank you, darling,” said Ifans, wearing a tiny red scarf, bracelets and a handful of rings. “I’m in room 360.”
Anonymous is sure to rile the hardcore Shakespearean faction, and the cast and its director took turns expressing their doubt in the authenticity of the Bard. “I can’t lie and say that I’m convinced that it was actually Oxford,” said Ifans of the Earl of Oxford, the character he plays in the film, “but I’m adamant that it was not a guy called William Shakespeare from Stratford.”

We have one more interview for you from the MTV Movie Awards last Sunday. Here Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel chat with MTV about their big win for “Best Fight” at the awards. Bryce and Xavier tell MTV that there was a lot of really good competition in their category, and Bryce goes on to declare that Robert Pattinson is the reason they came out on top along with the passion of Twilight fans. Check out the interview below:

I’m not surprised they won at all! I think I’m more surprised that we lost any category at all. While some of the other fights were good, clearly Twilighters were out voting in full force. I think I was honestly more worried about “Best Kiss”, and so glad we took the win on that one.

Were you surprised that the Eclipse fight took home the win for “Best Fight”?
