Posted September 4th, 2010 By: Evie View Comments

Happy Saturday and welcome back to ‘While You Wait Saturdays’, where we bring you movies, books and music that will keep you entertained as we all patiently wait for the release of Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2. We’re very excited to bring you one of our favorite bands this week with Jack’s Mannequin. If you remember back in 2008, Stephenie Meyer was asked to co-direct a video for The Resolution after the band found she had listed them on her playlists for the Twilight Series. Besides the video itself there was also a whole behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video, plus we couldn’t resist adding in another favorite from the band, Swim. Check it all out below:

Watch Part 2 here, Part 3 here and Part 4 here.

Metric Think Working on ‘Eclipse’ was a Fascinating Experience

Posted August 11th, 2010 By: Evie View Comments

In a new interview with Gigwise, Metric talk about their experience working on the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Metric guitarist Jimmy Shaw describes working on the film as “truly a fascinating experience”. Check out the interview below:

In an interview with Gigwise, Shaw said the project had opened new doors for the band.

“To be thrust into one of the biggest things that’s happened in the last decade or two was fascinating,” Shaw told Gigwise.

“Just to see how these companies operate, and the way the companies are dealing with the film, it was an amazing experience for me.

“I’ve never written music for anything on that kind of scale before so just as a life experience it was truly fascinating and I wouldn’t have given it up for anything.”

When asked if he had any knowledge of the previous films, Shaw replied: “We knew of its existence before – I’ve seen part of one.

“It’s hard to not know of it’s existence. If you walk 20ft from here you’ll see some reference of its existence.”

Muse Talk ‘Twilight’ to KROQ

Posted August 11th, 2010 By: Evie View Comments

The British Music Examiner is bringing us a new interview from Stryker, the DJ from KROQ, who was lucky enough to sit down with Muse yesterday, Two-thirds of Muse at least, specifically Matthew Bellamy and Dominic Howard. In the interview the guys talk about their sudden popularity in the US, their giant concert stage and why Matt believes it took so long for them to gain fame in the US. The guys then go on to talk about how Twilight has affected them, and which Team they are on: Check out the very funny interview with Matt and Dom below:

They discuss Twilight at about 8:17 into the interview

See more here.

I LOVE this interview. It is so funny when Matt and Dom say that they’re on the team “with the girl” and they don’t want to be on the “beefcake” team. It’s interesting how they only see a lot of Twilight fans in certain parts of the world.

What did you think of this interview with Matt and Dom from Muse?

An interesting video, I like the simplicity of it. Honestly, this is in my top three favorite songs from the Eclipse soundtrack which is really saying something because I really love the entire soundtrack. I never expected such a sweet song from Cee Lo Green, I was quite surprised. It’s so great to see another video pop up from the soundtrack!

Behind-the-Scenes with Metric for ‘Eclipse (All Yours)’

Posted July 26th, 2010 By: Evie View Comments

Spinner.com has a great video that shows a behind-the-scenes look at the video shoot for Metric’s Eclipse (All Yours). In the video we get to see the locations and early hours the band attended to film the video for their song on the Eclipse soundtrack. Check it all out below:

Watch the video at Spinner here.

When Metric’s Emily Haines was approached by award-winning composer Howard Shore about writing a track for ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ soundtrack, it was clear that the band was presented with an opportunity to reach an epic new audience. Haines, Shore and guitarist Jimmy Shaw soon got to co-writing the song, ‘Eclipse (All Yours),’ with a certain focus in mind.

“[Shore] was like, ‘What I’m attracted to is Metric, but it’s not about it representing Metric,” the frontwoman says in the following clip. “It’s about you embodying the voice of Bella.”

The behind-the-scenes footage, directed by Luke Wooden, captures the scenic shots of the rustic North Vancouver location in which the song’s video was filmed.

“Kristen Stewart is a really good actress and I feel like Bella’s a really important character for young women,” Haines previously told Spinner. “She’s not a stupid girl. It’s one of the most insightful portraits that I’ve ever seen of what it really is like to be a young woman and deal with the kaleidoscope of emotions that you go through on a daily basis.”
