Posted September 26th, 2009 By: Team Switzerland 5 Comments »

Happy Stephenie Saturday! We’ve got another great edition of “Stephenie’s Playlist” coming your way and this week we’re highlighting an awesome song for you straight from Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight playlist. For this week’s playlist highlight, TA Staffer Rebecca brings us a video for the song “Here With Me” by Dido. In addition to the video, Rebecca gives us a little background information on the artist, her music, and how exactly she fits into the Twilight universe. As always with Stephenie Saturday, we’ve added some questions for consideration for you to think about and respond to.

Here With Me – Dido

Questions:

- Where do you think this song fits into ‘Twilight’?
- Are you a fan of Dido? If so, were you a fan before Stephenie included them on her playlist for Twilight, or did you become one after?
- Why do you think Stephenie included “Here With Me” on her playlist?
- What’s your favorite Dido song?
- What did you think of this video?

About Dido:

Dido was born on Christmas Day 1971 in London, England, UK. As she was born on Christmas Day she celebrates an “official birthday” on 25th June. Her birth name is Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong. From early on in her childhood she was known as Dido, this is now her real name.
Her first official single “Here With Me” was used as the theme music for the television programme Roswell. It was this and the massive amount of airplay on MTV throughout Europe that brought her massive attention.

Eminem helped her breakthrough into USA in 2000 when he sampled the first verse of her song “Thank You” and wrote it into he song “Stan” after seeking permission from Dido.

She performed at three of the Live 8 concerts on 2nd July 2005. First she performed in London, England then at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England and then flying to Paris. She also co-wrote the Britney Spears hit “I’m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman” She has won 12 awards including one MTV Award and two Brit Awards.

I love this song and 2the video!! I´m a big fan of Dido!! In fact this song is my favorite!!
I believe this song shows how Bella feels when Edward leaves her, specially this part: “I can’t breathe Until you’re resting here with me”. Another song that shows the same is “My Lover´s Gone”…

I heart Dido and this is one of her best songs. It’s perfect for describing Bella’s yearning for Edward during his absence in New Moon. Love it!

I fell inlove with this song way back in my Roswell days and it was perfect for Max and Liz… and so it would be perfect for Bella and Edward too.
