Does anyone really picture Edward driving a *chunky* looking car?? That hatchback isn’t working. And like Ashley said, the family usually rides around with him (or at least they do when he’s not with Bella). I don’t exactly picture the Cullens climbing over top of each other.

to tell you the truth, I kinda do like the Movie version of the Volvo, but the thing is, you’ll see a Honda CR-V that is Silver and you’ll do a double take to see if it’s the Movie Volvo. I actually did that…so yeah…The Movie Version looks kick butt, I say. But if only it was four door.

Omg I deffinitly like the Volvo S60R better. It looks like my car (which by the way is a Volvo!) and thats a good point, there are 4 Cullens, so I hate the 2 door thing. The 2nd one is the movie version?Yuck if it is!!!

I hate the movie version of this car. The original is much classier with more elegant lines and suites Edward’s tastes better. And I agree with a previous reviewer… two doors yet all the Cullens drive together in the first book?! I really think Volvo was pushing product and probably gave the movie producers a sweet deal for agreeing.. ::shrugs::

idk im digging the c30. after seeing the pics of rob on set with the car i think it suits him.

Yeah, ok, how the heck are five GROWN people supposed to fit in THAT CAR on a daily basis? What do they do with Alice? Make her curl up in the hatchback space? This is honestly the first thing about the movie that I don’t like.

The Volvo C30 actually only seats four people. I looked it up at volvo.com when I wanted to see what kind of Volvo Edward was driving in the movie, and the website confirmed that the C30 is a four-person car. I’m curious to see what they do with that in the movie!

The hatchback might be two doors but it has BACK seats as well. Come on people. They changed the car model. Big freaking deal. The C30 is a really good car and it suits Edward. Don’t get me wrong. I love the S60r but that’s not what they chose. Oh well

Okay seriously?? To everyone the likes Edward with the S60r better you’re CRAZY!! It may be a little faster, but it looks like a grandma car. I think maybe if they had someone else playing Edward in the movie it would go better but i think the c30 is WAY better looking with Rob.

Also, when i was reading the books i pictured his car as a lowered hatchback. So i LOVE the c30. My opinion may be a bit bais, however, because i drive a 2004 civic si.

i think the hatchback should go!I like the other cars,but shoving 4 people in a car and if bella were there with them she would have either fangs in the neck from jasper or being stared at from rosealie.well she would be stared at any way so she would be used to it but anyway the hatchback HAS to go!

I agree with Josh. I like the C30 model better and I think its perfect for Edward in Twilight. The S60r model is too chunky and its a car for a family man, grandparents. The Cullen (women) are petite so you could fit 4 people in the back plus Edward & Bella in the front and having owned a two car hatchback having 3 or 4 passengers in the back does not necessarily mean to get out your climbing over each other!

The car described in the movie looks way better. And I hate when things aren’t accurate. besides, the c30 looks like a car old people would drive.

Personally, i prefer the C30 as that was the sort that i imagined while i was reading the books anyway. I also think that it suits Edward as it is one of the newer models of Volvo so the Cullens would have kept up with the newest cars. Edward would also have a sportier car which is what the C30 is rather than the S60R which is more of a family car. Plus i get to see one everyday :p

I thought that he was going to have a 4 door, to be honnest. But I stil love it! :] I loved the seen where he saved her in Port Angelas. What he did with the volvo was bad ass!!!!!! XO

I loved that car!! It’s just my size!! I’m small, it’s small, so it would fit me…unfortunately, it’s way too expensive!! I’ve been looking at all kinds of cars driving by, and I’m not even sure that this car even exists in the real world. I would love to own this car, and I do love Silver.

I also love Rosalie’s Mercedes Convertible. It’s my favorite shade of red, and beautiful. To be honest, she has my dream-car.

OK the volvo c30 in the movie was soo tight!!! they had that thing looking rediculous, it was decked out to the max. He looked sexy in it, i want one!

i own a red c30 and trust me, its SEXY and fast. its a younger car and newer. i think if this car was out when twilight was 1st wrote then this might have been the car in the book as well. besides, in the movie the cullens take two cars to school for the most part. i think it was a good move.

Ok, my car is not a “grandma” car. I own an ’07 s60R – the last year they made them. It would scare granny half to death. The model on this site with the black dent resistant side panels is the older version. The new model is slick and not “chunky” in any way. I personally don’t know any old folks that would prefer racing seats, 18′ wheels, AWD and 300 horsepower. My car is a rocket. The “R” is a totally different car than just the s60. The c30 is an “entry” level Volvo. It may appeal to the younger crowd but it doesn’t have the comfort and speed of an R.

I think that Edward’ car is REALLY COOL. I was thinking about buying one just like that. Oh, and by the way in the movie, they should of used a diffrent car. Where is his friends or his family goin to fit, also Isabella.

while the book makes everyones rides seem sweeter than in the movie, i think that the producer or whoever decided on what to use.. did really well, because the car in the movie has WAY more class than the first car. so it suits edward way better because he obviously has *delicious* class as well.

when i read “a shiny silver volvo” i pictured something more like the S60R, not a hatchback. i personally think the movie car is super stylin’ though. but not every movie follows the book exactly, so i don’t really care, as long as it’s the right brand. if they used a Mazda, i would’ve been like “what’s with that you fool???”

I think that the C30, is way cooler than the S60R. It’s also much more comfortable to drive

thats not right!! it specifically says he drives a Ashtin Martin Vanquish!!! in the rough draft of Midnight sun and in Breaking Dawn when Edward gives Jacob the keys to go drive! Read!!!!

The S60R is way cooler than the C30, really. And both are pretty comfortable to drive (if you put the S60 in comfort mode).

Besides, this is a bad picture of the Volvo S60R (google for it, you’ll find much nicer pics).

Also, one thing about the book isn’t right:
“He parallel-parked against the curb in a space I would have thought much too small for the Volvo, but he slid in effortlessly in one try.”
With the turning circle of the damn thing you’d be lucky to be able to fit it in in 3 times… Seriously, it’s over 13 meters (over 43 ft)…

I wish the movie would have went with the s60! i have one and i can just say that it is a badass and very sleek sporty car!! plus, it would have been cool to drive the same model as edward but atleast i have a volvo!!!

I like the silver volvo C30 better than the silver volvo S60-R, idk its just looks better and all the cullens have thier own car so they dont have to ride with edward and to me the S60-R just looks funny and the C30 looks more like a car that edward would drive. i dont understand why they changed his car in New Moon though it just isn’t edwards car.

I definatly like the c30, but it would be nice if they followed the book and went with the s60r. i was really mad in New Moon that the Volvo wasnt silver, it was black, and that was sooo wrong. either way, i like the look of the c30, and they shld put that in the movie, not a hatchback.

Can anyone tell me what YEAR model Edward’ S60 R is supposed to be? I’ve searched everywhere and I haven’t been able to find it. I know Stephanie Meyer posed pics on her website of what the car was supposed to look like but she didn’t post the year and I’m not car savvy so I don’t know which year model her pictures depict.
