Posted August 28th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Christina Perri appeared on ‘The Acoustic Cafe’ for CBS’ 96.5 TIC FM this morning, and may have just dropped a hint about the new soundtrack for Breaking Dawn - Part 2. The singer appeared on the show before her upcoming concert this weekend with Jason Mraz and sang an acoustic set along with chatting about her music. Before singing her famous song, ‘A Thousand Years’, from Breaking Dawn - Part 1, Christina mentioned her gratitude for the past, and her excitement about seeing Part 2 already and the fact she “might be involved”. Read more below:

Perri ended her set with “A Thousand Years,” the hit song she wrote for Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part One. Before jumping into the music, she recalled her experience with the film series, and writing the single. “I’m not even gonna pretend I was cool about it… I cried the whole time,” she said. “I watched the movie and I went straight home and wrote this song.”

But what she said next was the most exciting news for Twi-Hards everywhere… “I might have seen the last film (Breaking Down Part Two) too, and it’s pretty amazing,” she teased, before adding. “I might be involved in that. I’m not really allowed to say though… just a hint.” And with the bomb dropped that Christina may be back for another round of Twilight music, she played her last song, joking “I’m sucking at secrets today!

Passion Pit to be Featured on the ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 2′ Soundtrack

Posted July 20th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

It really seems like music and the Twilight Saga movies have always gone hand-in-hand. With the wait for each movie, we also wait excitedly to see who will be featured on the accompanying soundtrack. Perhaps it’s because Stephenie Meyer posted those original playlists with her books and gave so much credit to Muse, but whatever the reason - the Saga and music just go together. Finally we’re starting to hear some rumors about the soundtrack for Breaking Dawn - Part 2, and according to Pitch Fork.com, the band Passion Pit will be featured on the new soundtrack - neither the music or name of the track have yet been released. Read more below:

If you’ve heard a single synth squiggle of his music over the last three years, there’s a good chance you’ve underestimated Michael Angelakos’ ambition and complexity. On the brink of the festival-sized Gossamer, he also recently worked with Usher and Nelly Furtado, and has been sought out by other pop heavyweights including Britney Spears. He wants to make a piano-based solo album in the vein of one of his musical heroes, Randy Newman. Talking about upcoming videos, he mentions bold names like Terrence Malick, Faye Dunaway, Sofia Coppola, and Jake Gyllenhaal as potential collaborators, though none are confirmed as of yet.

His music will be featured as part of the soundtrack to the final installment of the Twilight film series later this year. (He’s hoping to convince Kristen Stewart to star in a future Passion Pit video, too.) Angelakos turned 25 in May, and he’s been so busy that, in the week leading up to it, he forgot what day his birthday was.

Thanks for the tip Tea!

I’m feeling a bit *meh* about this news. I guess we’ll see what the song sounds like, you really never know. I saw Passion Pit open for Muse when Muse was on tour, and didn’t fall in love, but you never know what could be written for the movie!

What do you think of Passion Pit being on the soundtrack for Breaking Dawn - Part 2?

Billboard’s Chart Beat Meet & Greet with ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 1′ Soundtrack Artist Christina Perri

Posted March 7th, 2012 By: Evie 2 Comments »

Billboard has a new interview with the lovely Christina Perri, songwriter and singer of ‘A Thousand Years’ from the Breaking Dawn - Part 1 soundtrack. Christina gives us more details on how exactly she ended up on the soundtrack, and what it was like to receive the news that her song was to be included. Check it all out below:

I got involved with ‘Twilight’ in kind of a magical way,” says Christina Perri.

“I’ve been a big fan for years and when I signed a record deal with Atlantic Records, they were doing the writing for ‘Breaking Dawn’,” the 25 year-old Philadelphia-born singer/songwriter recalls. “They asked me to come in and screen the movie and then write something.

“They were going to give me a shot because they knew what a big fan I was,” Perri says.

“So, I saw the movie in this little screening room with, like, all these super-Hollywood-y dudes on their Blackberries not watching … and I’m in the front row crying the whole time.

“I went straight home and wrote ‘A Thousand Years’.”

“I will never, ever forget this phone call I got. It was like, ‘You’ve been chosen for the soundtrack. You’ve been chosen for the single. You’re going to make a music video with clips from the movie and you’re going to go on tour with the cast,” Perri remembers.

“I couldn’t be more stoked. (‘Twilight’) is my favorite book, my favorite movie.

“I’m, like, super-happy over here.”
