Soundtrack Details for ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ and ‘Cosmopolis’

Posted May 3rd, 2012 By: Evie 3 Comments »

Two of both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s movies, Cosmopolis and Snow White and The Huntsman have released both album soundtrack cover art as well as track listings for the movies. For Cosmopolis, Howard Shore and Metric, who last worked together for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, have reunited to create the perfect soundtrack. Meanwhile the gorgeous cover art for Snow White and the Huntsman has been revealed, featuring a gorgeous shot of Kristen Stewart. Along with the cover art there is a new clip from the movie which features a soundtrack song from Florence and the Machine. Check it all out below:

The soundtrack for Cosmopolis reunites composer Howard Shore and the band METRIC for another cinematic collaboration. While writing the score for David Cronenberg’s film adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel Cosmopolis, Shore conceived of a particular live sound to achieve his vision and invited METRIC to perform the score and co-write three songs. The music was recorded in November 2011 at the band’s own Giant Studios in Toronto, produced by Howard Shore and METRIC guitarist Jimmy Shaw, and mixed by John O’Mahony at Liberty Studios in Toronto and Electric Lady Studios in NYC. The result is an atmospheric, urban soundscape of analog synths and layered guitars featuring the hypnotic vocals of METRIC lead singer Emily Haines. The Cosmopolis soundtrack also features “Mecca” by Somali Singer/Rapper K’NAAN with lyrics by the artist and Don DeLillo.

The soundtrack album features the songs:

“Long to Live”
Written by Emily Haines, James Shaw, Howard Shore
Performed by Metric

“I Don’t Want to Wake Up”
Written by Emily Haines, James Shaw, Howard Shore
Performed by Metric

“Call Me Home”
Written by Emily Haines, James Shaw, Howard Shore
Performed by Metric

“Mecca”
Lyrics by Don DeLillo and K’NAAN
Performed by K’NAAN

You can go listen to a preview of the songs HERE.

Metric to Score ‘Cosmopolis’ with Howard Shore

Posted October 15th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

It turns out that Metric and Howard Shore didn’t work together for the last time when they collaborated for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack. The band and composer will be reuniting to score another movie together, which coincidentally happens to be another film that stars Robert Pattinson. I’m talking about the last movie Rob was filming, Cosmopolis. Check out more from Metric below:

Also, we just confirmed we will be working with our favorite film composer Howard Shore on the score for a new David Cronenberg movie starring Robert Pattinson, minus the vampires! It’s an adaptation of the book “Cosmopolis” by Don DeLillo, and the themes are right in tune with the overall mood of the world at the moment. In “Cosmopolis”, the rat has become a unit of currency!

‘I’m All Yours’ from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

I adore Howard Shore’s music and I love Metric, this can only be good!

Are you excited to hear what Metric and Howard Shore come up with for Cosmopolis?

‘The Help’s’ Hilly vs. ‘Eclipse’s’ Victoria: A Bryce Dallas Howard Showdown

Posted August 10th, 2011 By: Evie 5 Comments »

ReelzChannel has a very funny article comparing two characters that Bryce Dallas Howard has played, Hilly from The Help and Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Read more below:

Though her father Ron Howard made his mark by playing nice guys (like Opie Taylor and Richie Cunningham), Bryce Dallas Howard is skilled at portraying some truly wicked women. The actress played the “vampire with a vendetta,” Victoria, in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and in this week’s The Help, she plays a character nearly as powerful and dangerous as a vampire: Jackson, Mississippi’s Junior League president Hilly Holbrook.

So who is more evil, Victoria or Hilly? Let’s compare.

Hell Hath No Fury

So what do these ladies do when they are scorned in love? In Twilight, Victoria’s mate James is killed. She decides to exact revenge by killing the person responsible — in this case, Bella. When her first attempts don’t succeed, she starts a full-on battle.

In contrast, while Hilly is married and has a family, she still makes a point to punish her ex-boyfriend’s wife. As the president of the Jackson Mississippi, she uses her power to exclude Celia Foote from as many social events as possible, in an obvious attempt to ostracize her completely. While she claims it’s because Celia is “white trash,” it’s pretty obvious the real reason for her exclusion is that Celia dared to marry a man that Hilly once thought she was going to marry her.

Who wins this round?

Hilly Holbrook. Though Victoria’s recourse is more violent, at least there’s a reason behind it. Hilly’s being mean just to be mean.

Hallmark Debuts New ‘Eclipse’ Christmas Ornaments

Posted July 18th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

It’s that fun time of year at Hallmark stores all across the country in the USA. This weekend Hallmark debuted their Christmas ornaments for the 2011 Holiday Season, and there’s a special Eclipse ornament for all the Twilighters out there! The Eclipse ornament is on a solid, round base and features Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black as they stand with their backs to each other in a circle. Bella and Edward are holding hands and Jacob stands with fists clenched. Check it all out below:

I was lucky enough to run into Hallmark today and check out this ornament for myself. While it’s definitely not the cheapest at $19.95, it is a real Hallmark ornament, you you know that quality is excellent. In addition, the ornament really shows the artwork and character styles from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Special thanks to Victoria’s Hallmark in Dickinson!! :)

What do you think of the new Eclipse Christmas ornament?
