‘Breaking Dawn - Part 2′ to be at Comic Con 2012

Posted June 12th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Variety is reporting what pretty much all of us have guessed would be happening this summer at Comic Con. The cast and crew from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 will be making an appearance at this year’s Comic Con in San Diego. So far there are no details on who will appear or what will be shown during the panel. Read more below from Variety:

With Comic-Con a month away, Hollywood is firming up plans to haul its geek-friendly film fare to San Diego - though Paramount and 20th Century Fox have joined Relativity Media, DreamWorks and DreamWorks Animation in skipping the Hall H panels this year, with Universal still up in the air.

Sony and the merged Lionsgate-Summit, meanwhile, are understood to be planning a presence inside the San Diego Convention Center’s biggest space.

Summit’s “Twilight” franchise has never missed the show - which has had fans camping out annually to secure a seat in the same room with their beloved thesps - and they’re expected back for the Comic-Con finale.

A very Happy Sunday to everyone! This week we bring you a Twilight Saga themed video from videosbycatherine’s channel and is titled No Light || The Twilight Saga and features No Light by Florence + The Machines.

This is such a lovely tribute to a saga that we all adore. The very best of Edward, Bella, Jacob, the Cullens and Quilette wolves, that we saw in Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn are showcased in this video. Florence + The Machines’ No Light seems to complement the saga beautifully and is perfect for this video. And I always love Bella’s narration as an accompaniment.

What do you think of the video?

Guri Weinberg Updates His Blog with More on Stephenie Meyer, ‘Twilight’ Fans and Life on the ‘Breaking Dawn’ Set

Posted May 6th, 2012 By: Evie 1 Comment »

Guri Weinberg truly is a prince of a man, or at the very least he’s got to be in competition for the greatest sense of humor among the cast of the entire Twilight Saga. At this time Guri has once again decided to update is rather infamous blog, this time with what is was really like to spend time with Stephenie Meyer, more experiences with fantastic Twilight fans (and some scary ones), and a little peek into life on the set of Breaking Dawn. Check it all out below:

What’s it like working with Stephenie Meyer?

Stephenie’s success is just staggering and I am pretty sure many would and probably did feel intimidated around her. Here’s the secret about Stephenie that I accidentally discovered, though…she is normal. REALLY normal. And funny. But mostly normal…like the kind of person you’d hang out with. Just to shoot the shit.

At first, I was pretty shy…for me. And nervous - I met Stephenie AFTER I’d been cast when some of us were called down to Baton Rouge for a make-up/wardrobe test before shooting began. So, I didn’t know how she felt about me or my choices for Stefan. I mean, I know if she would have HATED my audition tape, I wouldn’t be there but you know, maybe she was just like “Eh…Guri…whatever…thank GOD we also got better actors…”

When I finally met her in Baton Rouge, I was already in costume and make-up. I shook her hand and she said, “You are EXACTLY how I pictured Stefan” and smiled. And I relaxed. Like a baby, actually. In fact, I wet my pants…not really. Okay, a little.

So, from that point on, we just clicked. We chatted a lot and some folks that hadn’t quite figured out the ‘normal’ part about her were speculating as to what she had to say and if there was any ‘Twilight’ secrets she shared. I actually had some folks come up to me asking, “What do you talk about?” So, as a public service, I would like to disclose one of our ‘top secret’ conversations now. I think the one that sums it up best is this story :

On set, there were different ‘video villages’ which are areas with monitors displaying different camera angles and chairs huddled around. It was a bit tense on set as we were behind schedule. However, I’m just an actor in a VERY silly mood and so I go find Stephenie…’cause her village was down like that.

“Guuuuurrrrriiiiii….how are ya?”

“Bothered, Stephenie.”

“What’s wrong?”, she asks, all sincerely.

“Where are the Jewish vampires, Stephenie? Not ONE Jewish vampire?!?”

She laughs. “Because it goes against everything Judaism is about, GURI.”

“I don’t think you’re seeing it. See, if there were some Jews in the vamp camp, we could sidestep all battles in favor of negotiation…plus, I think the vamp world needs a good kosher deli…”

Now, I notice Lily Collins there. She’s laughing at my stupid Jewish vampire joke, so I immediately like her. And to the fans that are trying to stir up competition between the two Snow White movies, IMHO, they are VERY different films, they BOTH look great and I am a fan of BOTH actresses.

Back to the day. So, Stephenie is telling me about ‘The Hunger Games’ and what a great book that is and then we discuss the sacrifices we will all be making that night, as shooting is going to go LATE. I mention that I am VERY distressed that I will be missing my new favorite show, ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’. My wife’s agitated and colorful commentary after each episode is just nothing short of priceless. But, that night, alas…no RHOBH. Stephenie doesn’t even know the show and I’m aghast. Lily is also aghast. I look at Lily, who I now see is an incredibly astute young woman with FINE taste in reality television and we high five. We then describe the show to Stephenie by acting it out. She seems unimpressed by the show yet oddly adamant that we keep discussing our viewpoints about it with her. Oh! Right - and then Stephenie makes fun of me AD NAUSEUM for watching it. Not Lily, she got off scott-free for her allegiance to RHOBH. Just me. Whatever.

So, now everyone knows. Jewish vampires and the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are excellent examples of the scintillating, exclusive topics Stephenie and I discussed.

Go read the rest of the very awesome story on Guri’s blog here and please go check out Guri’s awesome charity, GFYS4Charity (yeah you know what that stands for) here.

Love Guri, seriously what a cool guy!

‘Cosmopolis’ Teaser Trailer Changes Critics’ Views of Robert Pattinson

Posted March 25th, 2012 By: Evie 3 Comments »

First off, if you haven’t had the chance to see the absolutely incredible teaser trailer for Cosmopolis featuring Robert Pattinson, quick go watch, we’ll wait. Here Movie Vine has a very interesting look at the critical reaction to that very trailer for Cosmopolis and how all of a sudden Rob’s broken from his typecast character and moved onto some big praise. Read more below:

Revolutions are usually bloody affairs. Sweaty, shouty, violent things that leave a grim taste in the mouth. But sometimes, just sometimes, they’re golden. March 22 was such a day. That was the day, of course, that the online release of David Cronenberg’s first Cosmopolis teaser 180’d the majority critical perception of Robert Pattinson. Critics, film outlets, and a multitude of industry commentators previously queueing up to disparage Pattinson’s acting abilities are now saying just the opposite. In fact, they’re openly rapturous.

It wasn’t always thus. Unwilling – or perhaps unable – to see past Summit Entertainment’s YA-geared marketing of Pattinson, as the sensitive vampire rejuvenated by his love for a human teenager, most critics recoiled as Pattinson’s public persona became inextricably entwined with that of the fictional “super boy-friend” Edward Cullen. As The Twilight Saga franchise’s star rose – and that of its young leads – so did the derision.

While some of the reasons for that can be laid at the door of promotional saturation by Summit, some of the past snark aimed at Pattinson was undeniably an allergic reaction to the massive commercial success of the Twilight Saga movies. $ 2.5 billion box office and counting – a figure that doesn’t even include DVD/Blu-ray,VOD and merch sales – the resulting popular ascension of Pattinson was viewed by many critics as a kind of manufactured consent.

Thanks Noor!

I didn’t realize that Rob was really being typecast by the critics to that high of a degree because of playing Edward. There is some very interesting stuff in this article. The very best line in this article though? “Robert Pattinson can act. Go on. Say it. Out loud.”

What did you think of the critical reaction to Rob in the teaser trailer for Cosmopolis? Were you aware that Rob was being typecast so strongly?

Robert Pattinson Thinks He’s Now “Too Old” to Play Edward

Posted February 18th, 2012 By: Evie 10 Comments »

In a recent interview while doing press for the premiere of Bel Ami in Berlin, Robert Pattinson was asked about the recent comments made by a Lionsgate executive and his wishes for the Twilight Saga to continue. Rob responded that he’d be curious to see what Stephenie Meyer wrote, but that he’s much to old to play Edward Cullen at this point. Read more below:

British actor Robert Pattinson said on Friday he may be too old to reprise his role as the ever-youthful vampire Edward Cullen in the “Twilight” movies, should author Stephenie Meyer decide to add another novel to the series.

The 25-year-old’s status as an A-list celebrity was underlined at the Berlin film festival where crowds of screaming girls gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor.

Pattinson, sporting shaved hair, was at the festival for the world premiere of “Bel Ami”, a costume drama set in late 19th century Paris based on Guy de Maupassant’s novel about a poor man who sleeps and cheats his way to the top of society.

It marks a big step away from the “Twilight” world which turned Pattinson into a star, and will go some way to showing how versatile he is as an actor.

“I’d be curious what Stephenie would write, but I just think I’d probably be too old,” he told reporters after a screening of “Bel Ami”, which also features Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci. “I’m already too old. But yeah, it’d be kind of interesting.”

Read the full story at Yahoo Movies! here.

Hmm, I’m not sure how I feel about this. Edward IS supposed to look 17, but I just can’t imagine being okay with anyone other than Rob ever playing the part either.

What do you think? Is Rob too old to play Edward?
