The Muppets Discuss ‘Twilight’ and ‘The Hunger Games’

Posted March 26th, 2012 By: Evie 1 Comment »

Apparently we’re not the only ones who get a little bit excited about both Twilight and The Hunger Games. Here a couple of Muppets from the The Muppet movie, Kermit and Walter, sit down to discuss some recent movies. They then get into their reasons for why they like both Twilight and The Hunger Games. Check it all out below:

Kermit the Frog and newly-minted man-of-a-Muppet Walter graced MTV News with their presence earlier this week, catching the attention of everyone passing through our newsroom at the time. As you might expect, the “Muppets” stars are quite the charming duo in real life. It’s one thing to see their antics on the big screen; watching them come alive right before you, however, is another experience entirely. The effect they have on even the most serious of grown adults (though, admittedly, we don’t have many of those around these parts) is astounding: Within seconds of laying eyes on Kermit and Walter, years of growth and maturity immediately fade away, leaving you in a temporary state of childlike wonder. In short, I fully recommend meeting Muppets if you ever have the chance.

Of course, Kermit and Walter weren’t at MTV News headquarters purely out of the kindness of their hearts, kind though their hearts may be: They were here to promote “The Muppets,” arriving on Blu-ray and DVD on March 20. We were happy to chat with them about the awesome home-video release — it has an intermission feature, everybody! An intermission feature! — but Kermit and Walter had more than just their own movie on their minds: They also wanted to talk about superheroes, vampires, deadly tournaments and more.

See more at MTV here.

Thanks Noor!

I love these guys. It’s been months since I saw this movie in the theatre and I still find myself singing ‘Man or Muppet’.

What did you think of Kermit and Walter’s thoughts on Twilight and The Hunger Games?

First ‘Abduction’ Trailer with Taylor Lautner

Posted April 13th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

Right now, you’re probably still watching Taylor Lautner as he chats with Josh Horowitz and answers fan twitter questions from up in Canada. Just minutes ago the very first trailer for Abduction aired on MTV and now we have it right here for you in case you missed it! Check out Taylor in Abduction below:

Movie Trailers - Movies Blog

MTV News proudly presents the trailer for “Abduction,” Taylor’s incoming action movie from director John Singleton. Taylor himself gave you your first look at the trailer during MTV First: Taylor Lautner earlier tonight, and now it’s here, waiting for you to watch it over and over again.

Go ahead, watch it again. We’ll wait!

So, what did you think? We’ve seen Lautner in action before as Jacob Black in the “Twilight” series, but never quite like this. This is full-tilt combat, with massive explosions and rapid-fire gunplay tearing through sets and characters as easily as a knife cuts through butter. For his part, Taylor more than holds his own in the thick of battle. We get to see the occasional werewolf in full martial arts mode towards the end of the trailer, where Taylor engages an enemy in hand-to-hand combat, and it’s definitely a side of him we haven’t seen before — a side that we like very much, by the way!

You can also watch the Abduction trailer and read more at MTV here.

What do you think of Taylor in Abduction? Is this a movie you’ll go see?

Lily Collins Describes a New Side to Taylor Lautner in ‘Abduction’

Posted April 12th, 2011 By: Evie 1 Comment »

We’re just about to the magic day when we finally get to see Taylor Lautner live and in person with MTV as he introduces the first trailer for Abduction. However first, we have a very charming Lily Collins, who costars with Taylor in Abduction, describing a side to Taylor most of us have never seen. Check out the video below:

Movie Trailers - Movies Blog

“[He is] very Jason Bourne-esque, of course with his own twist on it,” Lily explained of Taylor’s character in the film. “It’s a complete departure from Jacob. Obviously I’m in the movie so I’m biased, but I think it’s going to completely shock his fans, and people that necessarily don’t know him very well as Jacob that aren’t ‘Twilight’ fans. I think he brings an aspect people haven’t seen yet and [it's] very, very exciting.”

Lily is really at ease in interviews, I look forward to seeing her working with Taylor in Abduction!

What did you think about what Lily had to stay about Taylor?

Following the success of “MTV First: Robert Pattinson” last month, another “Twilight” heartthrob will be taking over the channel. “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” is set to premiere on air and online Wednesday, April 13, at 7:56 p.m. ET, when the 19-year-old star will exclusively debut the first trailer from his upcoming action/thriller “Abduction.”

Following the trailer premiere, Lautner will continue the conversation on MTV.com during a 30-minute chat with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz. But we won’t be the only one asking questions — fans will also have a chance to toss in their own queries. So if there’s something you’ve been dying to know about Lautner, now’s your chance. Just submit your questions on MTV.com or via Twitter (using @MTVNews and the hashtag #AskTaylor).

Joining him in the flick are Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello.

NIKKI REED TALKS ECLIPSE TRAILER EXCITEMENT

Posted April 23rd, 2010 By: Evie 1 Comment »

MTV caught up with Nikki Reed Thrusday night at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Party where Nikki talked about her excitement for the Eclipse trailer and what she thinks of Rosalie’s expanded storyline this time around. Check out more below:

Movie Trailers - Movies Blog

“I’m really excited!” she told MTV News on Thursday night at the Us Weekly Hot Hollywood party in Los Angeles. “I’ll see it when you do!”

As for the movie itself, Reed said she’s excited for fans to see her character Rosalie’s backstory played out in the next flick.

“I guess it’s nice for Rosalie to be able to get the chance to explain herself,” she said. “She’s not all that bad, but I think the fans obviously know, and they know who she is and they know what’s going on.

“All of the stuff in the 1930s was really cool [to shoot],” Reed added. “And then Kristen [Stewart] and I had a really amazing seven-page scene that was also really intense.”

Reed also warns that “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn” (which still hasn’t been officially announced) will force Team Edward fans to admit that it’s OK to have feelings for Jacob too. “There’s a lot of tension, and I think in the last movie/book Jacob’s character really wins you over,” she said. “I think the audience is torn now too and so that continues.”
