Wyck Godfrey and Robert Pattinson Could Team Up Again For ‘The Professionals’

Posted June 3rd, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

In more from MTV’s interview with Twilight Saga producer Wyck Godfrey, there’s a great little bit about Wyck’s thoughts on working with Robert Pattinson in the future. It turns out Rob may just be perfect for another movie that Wyck has in the works, with the movie adaptation of crime-thriller, The Professionals. Check out the interview below:

“There’s a book called “The Professionals,” which is a new crime thriller that Rob has read and really likes,” Godfrey said of Owen Laukkanen’s well-received debut novel. “We’re just starting to look at a writer [to adapt it]. It’s kind of a ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ for today, and he would be fantastic in the role. It’s in the early days; we’ll see.”

A modern-day version of “Bonnie and Clyde” sounds gritty and violent no matter which way you look at it. We asked Godfrey if he sees this potential big-screen crime thriller as a PG-13- or R-rated film for Pattinson.

“Possibly R,” he said. “[Rob's] an adult now.”

‘Twilight’ Cast Nabs Two of MTV’s Most Memorable Movie Award Moments

Posted May 30th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Next Movie has taken what they feel are the 20 most memorable moments from the MTV Movie Awards over the years and compiled them all into one list. Our Twilightcast - including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner (although mainly due to Rob and Taylor) gave Twilight a spot twice on the list. Check it all out below:

2011: ‘Twilight’ Stars Finally Make Out

No, not Best Kiss winners Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who prefer keeping their relationship on the DL. But while R.Pattz and K.Stew enjoying being coy about their rumored romance — teasing MTV Movie Awards audiences with an onstage kiss, yet never quite doing the deed — Rob had no problem locking lips with someone who would “appreciate it a little more”: his other “Twilight” costar, Taylor Lautner. Did we just witness the start of a new movement? Team Edward + Jacob?

2010: Les Grossman: Movie Awards Producer

He’s back! The oily, tough-talking exec played so memorably by Tom Cruise in “Tropic Thunder” made a surprise appearance to open the 2010 Movie Awards, as he tried to sell “Twilight” hunks Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner an action flick called “Bad-Ass Cops” and cajoled Jaden Smith (with papa Will watching) into breaking his arm. The unsung genius of the Grossman sketch: Bill Hader, reprising his role as Grossman’s studio underling, Rob Slolum, who kisses up to his tyrannical boss even though he’s clearly horrified by his tactics

Stephenie Meyer Misses Rob And Kristen On Set

Aww, I bet it would be weird to not have Kristen and Rob on set after filming 5 movies together!

It sounds like we won’t be getting any Twilight any time soon from Stephenie, but at least it sounds like we’ll be getting more from The Host. What do you think, are people getting sick of vampires?

Exclusive MTV Interviews with Stephenie Meyer from the Set of ‘The Host’

Posted May 28th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

MTV really was the lucky dog of the journalist world to get exclusive time not just on the set of The Host, but some pretty lengthy one-on-one time with author, Stephnie Meyer as well. In this series of interviews we get to hear from Stephenie about why she realized they had to cast Saoirse Ronan as the lead, the “enourmous” cave that The Host is filmed in, and why she can’t write while she’s working on movie sets. Check out all of the interviews below:

The Cast of The Host

Speaking to the film’s romance, Irons admitted that he enjoyed the struggle Jared has in wanting to be close to Melanie, but knowing in the back of his mind that he can’t. We watched Ronan and Irons film one of their more emotionally charged scenes that involved Jared trying not to kiss Melanie.

“Jared’s struggle is when Melanie returns, she was the love of his life and he lost her, but then she walks back into his life,” Irons explained. “He wants to hold her, but the rational part of his mind is saying she needs to be killed.”

From the looks of things on set, this big-screen adaptation has major potential to strike a chord among Meyer’s dedicated fanbase. The author told us that she’s enjoyed her involvement in the production and that being on the cave sets was particularly magical for her.

“It was so awesome. The cave set was enormous, it was vast, they’re just so cool, so much fun to walk on,” Meyer enthused. “It was kind of like someone built something out of your imagination just for you.”

Stephenie Meyer Comments on ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and ‘The Hunger Games’

Posted May 28th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Just like the (very) old days of Twilight Tuesdays, back when Twilight was first being filmed, MTV was lucky enough to get on set and behind-the-scenes while filming took place on The Host. Here MTV’s Josh Horowitz chats with Stephenie regarding both her thoughts on the Twilight fan fiction - turned novel, Fifty Shades of Grey as well as her thoughts on the films for The Hunger Games. Enjoy the video below:

I love how much of a fan of The Hunger Games that Stephenie is. I especially love that just like your typical fan, she’s already casting characters in her head, such as Finnick. It’s also very interesting that Stephenie is so very un-interested in Fifty Shades since it started as fan fiction from her characters, but it’s pretty big of her to just wish that author well.

What did you think of Stephenie’s thoughts on both The Hunger Games and Fifty Shades?
