MTV Asks “Is ‘Twilight’ Really Over?”

Posted June 8th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

In light of recent comments made by Stephenie Meyer, Kristen Stewart and the now infamous Lionsgate executive, MTV is asking - “Is Twilight really over”?” See what you think of their reasoning below:

“I’ve been promoting ‘Snow White,’ and I get asked a lot of questions, especially about ‘Twilight,’ which I love. The most common one is like, ‘God, you must be so happy to get away from it. You must be so happy to just distance yourself from that as far away as you possibly can.’ I’m just like, ‘Shut up! What are you talking about?’ ”

Earlier this year, the chief executive of Lionsgate Entertainment, Jon Feltheimer, said he believes the vampire saga will remain valuable after the November 16 release of “Breaking Dawn - Part 2.” When asked if his company would helm any future “Twilight” projects, he said, “It’s an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is ‘Boy, I hope so.’ ”

The film company’s co-chair, Rob Friedman, also commented on the franchise’s future, telling The Hollywood Reporter Lionsgate will be onboard if author Stephenie Meyer moves forward with the saga. “If she wishes to do it,” he said, “we’ll be there to support her.”

When MTV News caught up with Meyer on the set of her latest project, “The Host,” we asked if Edward, Bella and Jacob will be brought to life again — in print or onscreen. Her answer gave hope to “Twilight” fans everywhere when she revealed she already has the characters’ futures in mind.

“Things change so much from week to week, let alone year to year. I mean, there are other stories,” she said. “I have a really hard time putting down characters, and so I know what would happen.”

‘Breaking Dawn’ Cast Comment on Favorite Scenes for ‘Part 2′

Posted June 8th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Back at the MTV Movie Awards last weekend, MTV had the chance to chat with a few members of the cast and crew from Breaking Dawn - Part 2 including Kristen Stewart, Jackson Rathbone, Nikki Reed and Wyck Godfrey. Here both Jackson and Nikki give some hints for their favorite scenes we can look forward to this fall. Check it all out below:

Leading lady Kristen Stewart said we should be looking forward to the film’s change in tone and, of course, Bella’s transition from human into nonhuman.

“It’s so bizarre, the tone change. You’ve always been behind her. You’ve always been using her. She’s how you see that world,” Stewart said. “Now that her perspective has completely changed, it’s like ‘Where am I?’ It’s really cool. I, myself, am still a little bit shell-shocked. It’s not like sitting down and watching a ‘Twilight’ movie.”

Co-star Jackson Rathbone didn’t have much to offer up in the form of specifics for his character Jasper Cullen, but he made up for it with his unabashed excitement for the film.

“Yes! Oh, man! I can’t really talk about it, though. I’m not allowed to,” Rathbone said. “If you just noticed, I went to a happy place and I think everybody’s going to really love it. The littlest hints? It’s awesome.”

The best bit of intrigue came from Nikki Reed, who hinted at some pretty special vampire girl-on-big baddie fight sequences.

“Well, you never know what’s going to end up in there,” she said. “[But] there was a pretty kick-ass battle sequence that I did with two of the other girls that I think should be pretty cool, if they leave it in there. So I’m looking forward to that ’cause we trained for it for a while. [We did] a little fight training. It was me and Ashley [Greene] and Kristen, and we did this like three girls back-to-back thing where we beat up some huge dudes,” she recalled. “That’s always fun.”

Last but certainly not least was a chance encounter with producer Wyck Godfrey who, unlike the cast, has seen the film several times already in post-production. Godfrey promised that we’ll see our favorite characters meet their destinies, along with a hint about what to expect from the ending.

“For me, the last movie is all about closure and the characters finally coming fully into themselves about what their destinies are,” Godfrey said. “Edward becoming, in a sense, the patriarch of the family; Bella becoming a mother and a vampire finally, which I think is truly the thing everyone wants to see. It is ultimately the closure of their lives. For those that have followed [the films] from beginning to end, there is a great final moment where you really get to re-live that entire the experience and I think that is something the fans can look forward to.”

Stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone and producer Wyck Godfrey took the stage to accept the award from presenter and Stewart’s “Panic Room” co-star, Jodie Foster.

“Thank you so much, you guys, I know I always say the same thing,” Stewart said. “I’ve been promoting ‘Snow White,’ and I get asked a lot of questions, especially about ‘Twilight,’ which I love. The most common is, like, ‘God, you must be so happy to get away from it. You must be so happy to distance yourself from it as far away as you possibly can.’ And I’m like, ‘Shut up! What are you talking about?’ I know we’ve been here for a while, so really, thank you very much.”

“We really have so many people to thank, not only for this award but for the past few years,” Lautner chimed in. “But first and foremost, we have to thank you guys. I want to thank the whole entire cast and crew for their hard work and passion on this. Our producers, Wyck Godfrey and Karen Rosenfelt. Our incredible director Bill Condon, all of Summit Entertainment. And I forgot a big one, the creator of this thing, producer and author Stephenie Meyer. I’m so excited for you guys to see the last and final part of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2′ in theaters November 16.”

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Win “Best Kiss” for the 4th Straight Year at the MTV Movie Awards

Posted June 3rd, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

They’ve done it again, and it looks like this could be one record that’s pretty hard to break. For the fourth straight year, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have won the award for “Best Kiss” at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, this time as Bella and Edward in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. The only problem seemed to be that we were missing a certain Rob to accept the award with Kristen, since he already had prior promotional duties to do for Cosmopolis. But we can always, always trust Kristen to come up with something clever…..

Pattinson couldn’t attend the awards ceremony due to prior commitments for his upcoming film “Cosmopolis,” suggesting an interesting acceptance speech smooch solution for co-star Stewart.

“I think Kristen is going, so she’s going to kiss herself if she wins,” he said with a grin.

And, well, that’s sort of what Stewart did. After taking the stage and asking for a succession of co-stars, including “Snow White and the Huntsman” actors Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron and “Twilight” hunk Taylor Lautner, to come help her out, Stewart turned her back to the audience and mimed a steamy make-out all by herself.

She kept her actual acceptance speech short and sweet: “Thanks, guys, this really means a lot. Thank you, guys, very much for giving us Best Kiss again. Thank you.”

You did it Twilighters! That took some serious devotion to voting to keep the “Best Kiss” category this year.
