Robert Pattinson Defends His ‘Twilight’ Supporters

Posted June 13th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

In addition to that great interview with The Guardian, Robert Pattinson also recently spoke with BBC News. Here Rob talks a bit more about Cosmopolis and why he thinks his Twilight fans will like it. Rob also goes on to defend his many Twilight supporters, giving them credit for being much smarter than the press makes them look. Read more below:

Actor Robert Pattinson has predicted that his new art-house film Cosmopolis will be embraced by Twilight fans.

“Some of them will just want you to play vampires, but most people don’t want you to repeat yourself,” the Briton told the BBC.

The heart-throb, who played Edward Cullen in the Twilight films, also defended his fans from accusations that their dedicated behaviour was “crazy”.

Asked what his Twilight fanbase would make of the film, the 26-year-old star said: “I think a lot of them will really connect to it. Over the years, people kind of get an idea of what you’re trying to do.

“Some of them will follow - some of them will just want you to play vampires, but most people don’t want you to repeat yourself. So hopefully they’ll like it.”

Twilight fans, he suggested, had come in for unfair criticism.

“People put down Twilight fans, but yesterday I got given on the red carpet in Berlin all these books from people who are lined up in the rain and are probably judged by everyone to be crazy.

“I got a signed first edition of the Martin Amis book, Money; a Lawrence Ferlinghetti book; the new [Michel] Houellebecq book. All these people come up and give what they’ve been reading and found interesting. This is not giving you teddy bears!”

Stephenie Meyer Misses Rob And Kristen On Set

Aww, I bet it would be weird to not have Kristen and Rob on set after filming 5 movies together!

It sounds like we won’t be getting any Twilight any time soon from Stephenie, but at least it sounds like we’ll be getting more from The Host. What do you think, are people getting sick of vampires?

Edward Cullen Makes Stylist UK’s List of “25 Sexiest Vampires”

Posted March 24th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

In honor of the 100th Anniversary of Dracula author, Bram Stoker’s, death next month, Stylist UK has put together a list of what they feel are the “25 Sexiest Vampires”. Included of course is Twilight’s most famous vampire, Edward Cullen. Check out more below:

Bloodthirsty rogues to die for

When Bram Stoker penned his 1897 Gothic novel Dracula about an ancient mythical demon that exists by sucking the blood of innocent humans, “sexy” may not have been the direction he saw his villain headed.

Yet almost 100 years on from the writer’s death, the perennial allure of the vampire’s bite is evident in hit books, movies and TV shows centered around the fang-wielding immortal demon. Loyal Twilight fans eagerly await their next movie fix of the brooding, bequiffed and undead Edward Cullen, while insatiable True Blood viewers flock to watch their favourite vamps get busy, Southern style.

Ahead of the 100th anniversary of Stoker’s death next month, chart the glamorisation of the ghoul with our coven of 25 screen vampires through history.

TWILIGHT 2012

Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novel first made the big screen in 2008 and the final installment, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two is due to hit cinemas in November 2012.

A tiny teaser to the film focuses on Edward Cullen and his new wife Bella in their honeymoon period as they adjust to her vampire status. The movie will see them protecting their daughter, Renesmee, from the Volturi.

Vote for ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 1′ in MTV’s Best Movie Ensemble Poll

Posted December 6th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

MTV is currently running a poll for the best movie ensemble cast of 2011. There are five movies in the running with Bridesmaids, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, Horrible Bosses and The Help. Go vote and help the cast of Breaking Dawn - Part 1 win best ensemble of 2011!

2011 is almost out the door, and we’re giving it a nice, long goodbye—with a roundup of polls to determine the best of the best from this year! All the movies, all the moments, all the madness; it’ll all be here as we count down the days until New Year’s and find out what you loved most about 2011. And today, we’re kicking it off with a vote for Best Movie Ensemble. And the nominees are…

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1″
You could vote for this one purely based on the power of the Rob-Kristen-Taylor trifecta—but let’s be real, “The Twilight Saga” wouldn’t be half as fab without the shirtless wolfpack, red-eyed Volturi and hilariously clueless contingent of Forks residents who are all, “Vampires? What vampires?” (even as one of their favorite young denizens walks down the aisle with one.)

Go vote at MTV here.

(Thanks Noor!)

Fan Video Sunday: I Gave You All

Posted November 27th, 2011 By: LexiconAficionado 2 Comments »

A very Happy Sunday to everyone! This week we bring you a Jacob themed video from MisFresh’s channel and is titled Jacob || I Gave You All and features I Gave You All by Mumford & Sons.

I love the friendship shared between Bella and Jacob and this is a beautiful video showing the ties that bind them together, even though she married Edward. I admire Jacob for rallying around Bella and the Cullens, even though it was hard for him to be with the vampires and required him to break away from his pack. And even though it is the general consensus that that Jacob loved Bella while Bella was confused about her feelings for him, I’ve always believed it is just fate’s way of keeping them together so that he could be close by and imprint on Renesmee when the time comes, thus still ensuring the close ties between the Swans, Cullens and Blacks would endure.

What do you think of this video?

Peter Facinelli Says the ‘Twilight’ Cast is Like a Family

Posted November 24th, 2011 By: Evie 1 Comment »

NBC has posted a great interview with Peter Facinelli from the Breaking Dawn - Part 1 red carpet where he talked about life on set with the Cullen family, life after Twilight, and some great fans. Check out the interview below:

View more videos at: http://nbclosangeles.com.

On the tight-knit family feeling among the castmembers who play Cullens:

I think there’s a family feeling between all of us. It’s like going on a road trip with somebody, and it’s this has been a long road trip because we’ve gone through five films in three years. We’ve all gotten to know each other really well. We’ve been there from the beginning with each other, so it’s really becoming this little niche family. Then you welcome new family members in. After ‘Twilight’ we welcomed in the werewolves. That became a new piece. With ‘Breaking Dawn,’ in part two, we have a whole other group of vampires coming in. But the core of the Cullens is always there. It’s kind of nice in the sense that we might not see each other or talk to each other for a couple of months because everyone is off doing different projects and are busy, but when you see them it’s like you saw them yesterday. I think that’s a true test of a good friend or someone who’s a family member. It’s not awkward. You see each other and it’s like you saw them the day before.

On being a guest at a very damp vampire wedding:

The set was really beautiful and the tables were all lit with wonderful candles. The bummer is that it rained, like, every day. So as much as it was kind of visually beautiful, there were tarps up and it was pouring rain at time. There was mud all over the floor. At times the tarp would break and water would come rushing down on somebody and it was cold and wet. You just kind of had to keep going through it and know that with movie magic no one was ever going to see that – that it was just going to look beautiful. Then there were moments of just pure beauty, where Bella was coming down the aisle. It’s just a magical moment and really beautiful. You get sucked in by that and forget all about the rain.
