Peter Facinelli Talks Flying to The New York Times

Posted April 28th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

The New York Times has a great story from Mr. Peter Facinelli where he talks about all of his time flying back and forth across the world and the people that he encounters on his travels. Read more below:

I’m very inconspicuous when I fly. Even though I’m on the TV show “Nurse Jackie,” and played Carlisle Cullen in the “Twilight” series, it’s not like I’m easily recognizable. I’m just a guy on a flight. I don’t look like my Twilight character. I’m not that pale or blond. When I’m traveling alone, I usually don’t get that double-take from fellow passengers saying, “Oh my God, it’s that ‘Twilight’ guy.”

I remember being on a plane and the woman sitting next to me was reading “Twilight.” She looked really engrossed, and I kept thinking that maybe I should introduce myself to her. But I didn’t. It would have been a little weird. I’ve also never even watched any of the “Twilight” movies while flying. If one is showing, I just kind of duck down low and go to sleep.

Sometimes when I am recognized, I wish I hadn’t.

Since flying is my time to relax, I’m not one to really chat with seatmates. When waiting for a flight, I kill time playing Words With Friends. I really get into the zone. I was so into the zone once that I didn’t realize it was time to board a flight. Someone tapped me on the shoulder and I jumped up. I may have screamed a little. So did he. But he did recognize me, which was embarrassing. He just wanted to tell me he was a fan.

Carlisle Cullen Falls to #3 Spot in Forbes “Fictional 15″

Posted April 24th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Every year Forbes puts together a list of the richest fictional characters, and for the last three, the Twilight Saga’s Carlisle Cullen has been a part of that list. Back in 2010 Carlisle actually reigned #1 on the list, before falling to the #2 spot last year. Peter Facinelli joked around that due to Edward and Bella’s massive wedding it made sense that Carlisle’s riches would be depleted and he would lose his top spot. However this year the good Doctor has dropped one more spot, down to #3, thanks to some new additions. But really, who’s going to argue with Smaug the dragon from The Hobbit? Check out more below:

To qualify for the Fictional 15, we require that candidates be an authored fictional creation, a rule which excludes mythological and folkloric characters. They must star in a specific narrative work or series of works. And they must be known, both within their fictional universe and by their audience, for being rich.

Net worth estimates are based on an analysis of the fictional character’s source material, and where possible, valued against known real-world commodity and share price movements. In the case of privately held fictional concerns, we seek to identify comparable fictional public companies. All figures are as of market close, April 1, 2012.

Final valuations are calculated with a grain of salt, and a willingness to break our own rules.

3. Carlisle Cullen
Worth: $36.3 Billion

Source: Compound Interest, Investments

Residence: Forks, Wash.

Small-town doctor and immortal vampire is (non-)living proof of the miracle of compounding interest: small nest egg banked in 1670 has grown into one of fiction’s largest fortunes. Cullen’s youthful appearance belies 371 years of age and brilliant medical mind honed over centuries of night school. Undead monster with pronounced sentimental streak; gave second wife private Brazilian island for wedding gift. Passionate art collector prefers macabre scenes, nightscapes. Featured in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight novels and films.

Peter Facinelli Co-Hosts on ‘Live with Kelly’

Posted April 6th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Peter Facinelli was back to slip into his co-hosting duties today on ‘Live with Kelly’ where he joined Kelly Ripa on location from Banff Alberta, Canada. Peter was of course ever the charming co-host, sharing stories about his first lessons in skiing from his dad, graciously accepting a beaver hat from Kelly and learning the Canadian word of the day before launching into a quiet description of the divorce he’s going through with ex-wife Jennie Garth. Check out more below:

See all the clips here.

Thanks Noor!

The whole divorce thing with Peter and Jennie is so sad, I wish the media would just leave them alone. The whole issue of it being such a private thing, and the fact that they have kids involved is the very reason I never covered it on TA. Despite all of that, Peter went on to co-host as charming as ever.

What did you think of Peter’s appearance on ‘Live with Kelly’?

Elizabeth Reaser on Her New Brodaway Role, Career Choices and Her Leading Men

Posted March 3rd, 2012 By: Evie 1 Comment »

The Huffington Post once again has a new interview with the beautiful Elizabeth Reaser. In this little snippet of the interview Liz discusses the various leading men she’s worked with in her career, as well as feeling uncomfortable with too much “girliness”. Read more below:

NDP: You’ve been cast across some very strong, masculine leading men: Justin Chambers in Grey’s Anatomy, Josh Charles in The Good Wife, Peter Facinelli in Twilight, and Patrick Wilson in Young Adult. Do you feel like you’re playing opposite or with these guys?

ER: Look at the list of people you just named! I find it to be a joy, those guys are actors and have to be extremely masculine, but they’re also actors who really care about the scene and come to the table with real openness and generosity.

I think you have to be able to hold your own. And I also happen to LOVE men, I get on really well with men. My father raised me from the time I was 12 years old. And it would never occur to me that I wouldn’t be strong - I wasn’t raised like that.

NDP: You’re not a regular in a lot of chick flicks, you’re not the usual best friend, you’re more the girl with the guy…

ER: I’m often uncomfortable with girliness, to be honest. It’s weird - I’ve always found that hard, even in middle school and high school. I don’t connect to a certain girliness or talking about girly things - I feel unauthentic and uncomfortable in that world - maybe I’m just more butch than I realize!

I have, however, been fortunate to have a number of great girlfriends. You don’t meet as many girls as you do guys in my line of work, so I do cherish my friendships. I’m friends with Elizabeth Banks - she’s a great actress but not actressys at all. She’s very cool. I adore her.

Peter Facinelli took up some co-hosting duties today as he joined Kelly Ripa on ‘Live with Kelly’. Peter was quite the host, chatting away with Kelly as well as conducting interviews with the guests. Peter even joined in on a rather interesting balloon popping game where he partnered up with JWoww from ‘Jersey Shore’. Check out Peter on ‘Live with Kelly’ below:
