Carlisle Cullen Falls to #3 Spot in Forbes “Fictional 15″

Posted April 24th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Every year Forbes puts together a list of the richest fictional characters, and for the last three, the Twilight Saga’s Carlisle Cullen has been a part of that list. Back in 2010 Carlisle actually reigned #1 on the list, before falling to the #2 spot last year. Peter Facinelli joked around that due to Edward and Bella’s massive wedding it made sense that Carlisle’s riches would be depleted and he would lose his top spot. However this year the good Doctor has dropped one more spot, down to #3, thanks to some new additions. But really, who’s going to argue with Smaug the dragon from The Hobbit? Check out more below:

To qualify for the Fictional 15, we require that candidates be an authored fictional creation, a rule which excludes mythological and folkloric characters. They must star in a specific narrative work or series of works. And they must be known, both within their fictional universe and by their audience, for being rich.

Net worth estimates are based on an analysis of the fictional character’s source material, and where possible, valued against known real-world commodity and share price movements. In the case of privately held fictional concerns, we seek to identify comparable fictional public companies. All figures are as of market close, April 1, 2012.

Final valuations are calculated with a grain of salt, and a willingness to break our own rules.

3. Carlisle Cullen
Worth: $36.3 Billion

Source: Compound Interest, Investments

Residence: Forks, Wash.

Small-town doctor and immortal vampire is (non-)living proof of the miracle of compounding interest: small nest egg banked in 1670 has grown into one of fiction’s largest fortunes. Cullen’s youthful appearance belies 371 years of age and brilliant medical mind honed over centuries of night school. Undead monster with pronounced sentimental streak; gave second wife private Brazilian island for wedding gift. Passionate art collector prefers macabre scenes, nightscapes. Featured in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight novels and films.

Fan Video Sunday: Even If I Am Damned

Posted January 29th, 2012 By: LexiconAficionado 2 Comments »

A very Happy Sunday to everyone! This week we bring you a Carlisle Cullen themed video from superdeannatural’s channel and is titled Even If I Am Damned || Carlisle Cullen.

This is an amazing video depicting the wonderful traits of Carlisle Cullen; towards his family, towards those around him, especially mankind, and even towards those not deserving of any sympathy, like the sadistic James. He has even managed to win over the highly suspicious Quileutes, a task that would have impossible for a lesser individual. It is clear that the patriarch of the Cullen family is a true gem and understandable why his family adore him, as does Bella. The compassion that Carlisle and Esme showed towards Bree, even though she came with the newborns to kill them in Eclipse, is truly admirable. He is definitely one who believe that honey is better than vinegar in winning the bees. It is no wonder the Volturi is so envious and wary of him.

What do you think of the video? Do you think it’s managed to capture the essence of Carlisle’s traits?

Total Film has put together a list of the “50 Richest Movie Characters” and our Dr. Carlisle Cullen has made the cut at #41. Read the full list over at Total Film here.

Really, I’m guessing if people actually considered the help Alice could give, Carlisle would go way up on the rich movie characters list!

What do you think of Total Film’s list and Carlisle’s spot on the list?

Peter Facinelli Doesn’t Dress Up as Dr. Carlisle Cullen for Halloween

Posted October 9th, 2011 By: Evie 2 Comments »

The Insider was also one of the media outlets that had the chance to chat with Peter Facinelli as he had his house set up for the “32 Days of WONKAween”. Here Peter chats about his Halloween costume choices over the last few years, choices which didn’t include Dr. Carlisle Cullen. It seems Peter’s spent enough time as our good vampire doctor, and is instead thinking about perhaps doing a stint as Willy Wonka this year instead. Check out the interview below:

Actor Peter Facinelli is famous for playing father to vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) in the Twilight Saga series, but we wonder if Dr. Carlisle Cullen would, or ever has felt the urge to whip out his signature face powder and ER scrubs to channel the Twilight Saga staple for Halloween.

In a word, no. Never.

“I’ve actually dressed up as Carlisle Cullen for the last 5 years,” Peter says with a laugh. He of course is referring to the long run of the popular film series, so who can blame the guy for wanting a break?

“I think it’d be fun to do Willy Wonka,” Facinelli suggests as a viable alternative.

See more at The Insider here and remember to stay tuned this week for TA’s exclusive interview with Peter Facienlli!.

Peter Facinelli on Playing Two Very Different Doctors with ‘Twilight’ and ‘Nurse Jackie’

Posted September 29th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

Scene Louisiana has a nice little interview with Peter Facinelli where he talks about everything from Facinelli Film projects to Nurse Jackie, and even quite a bit on Breaking Dawn. Peter goes into some detail on playing Carlisle to Robert Pattinson’s Edward, and Dr. Coop’s crazy energy. Read more below:

MH: Is there any connecting at all through the doctor you play on Nurse Jackie to Dr. Carlisle Cullen?

PF: Absolutely none, which is what I love about it (laughs). They’re so distinctly different. I mean, they’re probably 180 degrees from each other. When I was thinking about doing the show I thought, “What a fun thing to do because I have this one character, Carlisle, who’s kind of the rock of the family, he’s very mature, he’s confident, he’s compassionate and the leader of this family who everyone looks to. Then you have this other guy who’s basically very immature, self-absorbed, childlike and I thought, “What a fun world…to play two doctors who are so completely different that the only thing they share is the same white jacket.”

MH: You’re so young and Carlisle’s very old, this patriarch with gravitas. Was playing an older, wiser character a challenge for you?

PF: Well, when I first read the roll, I was like how am I gonna make this guy who’s like 350 years old but at the same time in appearance, he’s twenty-three. In the books, he’s twenty-three so he has a young appearance with an old soul. Because I’m young, I thought, “How am I gonna be the leader of this family looking so young?” I don’t know how I’m gonna be Rob Pattinson’s dad, you know? When we hang out, I can be his older brother but physically it was a challenge to say, ‘I have to be the father figure.’ So what I did to create the character was, I looked at Carlisle and I did a little bit of history on the last 350 years of his life and what was going on in those times. I kind of gave myself a little history lesson and mapped out his character and his journey through those 350 years and then I felt like, ‘Okay, I’m bringing that knowledge to the screen whether it appears or not, I have that knowledge inside. Then, just making sure he has the leadership qualities and his speech patterns are a little slower and he’s a little more still than a character like Coop, who runs around like he just drank four cans of Red Bull.

MH: One more question, and this can be off the record if you want. Are you tired of answering that question about having to stay out of the sunlight to stay pale?

PF: (Laughs) Plenty of times if I was in the sun I would sink into the shadows unconsciously just because I was so used to staying out of the sun. I remember going to my daughter’s soccer games with sunglasses and hoodie and I would look like the Unabomber, you know, just because the more sun you have the more make up you have to put on. This summer I took the kids to Europe, to the Maldives, and it was kind of nice for the first time in, I don’t know, years where I was actually able to sit in the sun and not worry about it.

MH: So, I guess that’s a no.

PF: No (laughs).

I remember the Peter as a unabomber at soccer pictures!

What did you think of this interview with Peter? Who do you prefer, Dr. Carlisle Cullen or Dr. Coop?

‘The Twilight Saga’ in Pop Culture’s Sexiest Vampires

Posted June 30th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

MSN’s Wonderwall has compiled a huge list of the sexiest vampires throughout pop culture, and of course the vampires from The Twilight Saga made a strong showing. The Cullens especially scored big with Edward, Carlilse, Rosalie and Emmett, and then lone bad vampire, Victoria, also made the cut. Check it all out below:

Robert Pattinson

Role: Edward Cullen, “Twilight”

How could someone so chaste be so alluring? Luscious locks, sparkling skin and the gut-wrenchingly romantic lines he gives to Bella go a long way in making Edward this decade’s most popular vampire.

Nikki Reed

Role: Rosalie Hale, “Twilight”

This vampire may envy Bella for being human, but she has nothing to be jealous of in the looks department.

Peter Facinelli

Role: Dr. Carlisle Cullen, “Twilight”

This hot-to-trot father of five vampires is a doctor, and he showed incredible self-control when he mended Bella’s cut at her birthday party. We sure wish we had a doctor this sexy to tend to us.

Rachelle Lefevre

Role: Victoria, “Twilight”

She may be a dangerous vampire who’s out to kill Bella, but we sure enjoyed watching this redheaded vamp — and her wild mane — running after Bella in the woods.

Kellan Lutz

Role: Emmett Cullen, “Twilight”

Of the entire drop-dead gorgeous Cullen family, Emmett takes the cake… beefcake that is. One look at those arms, and we are giving up our necks as sacrifice.
