Cam Gigandet Still Loves ‘Twilight’

Posted August 17th, 2011 By: Evie 1 Comment »

Next Movie caught up with Cam Gigandet to ask the actor five questions about his recent roles, in honor of his movie Priest being released on DVD. Here Cam tells Next Movie how Twilight really did change his life, and how he might forever be known as that guy who broke Bella’s leg. Read more below:

In the final analysis, do you get more attention from fans for killing Marissa Cooper or breaking Bella’s leg?

[Laughs] I’m going to have to go with the “Twilight” fans because… they are really never-ending. I played paintball this past weekend with my dad — the whole day, people would come up and say “Oh, you’re the guy from -” and if it was a girl, without fail, the girl would bring up ‘Twilight.” They used to bring up “The O.C.” but not so much anymore.

The guys who came up to me this past weekend — it was always “Never Back Down.” Which is interesting.

Thankfully, “Twilight” set me up for a really long time. Everything that has such success and a fan following makes my job easier. It’ll always help me, for the rest of my career.

Cam Gigandet Still Grateful for ‘Twilight’

Posted April 6th, 2011 By: Evie 1 Comment »

Jen Yamato over at MovieLine has another great interview, this time with the original Twilight bad vampire, Cam Gigandet. Cam talks a great deal about his current projects and teaming back up with Screen Gems and why he’s still so grateful for his part in Twilight. Read more below:

You were only in the first Twilight film, but that franchise’s fandom is a loyal bunch. How much has your Twilight fame followed you as you’ve carved out a career in the years since?

It’s still and forever will be the thing that got me off the ground in the first place. I had jobs before that, but that was the one that got me everything since. So I will be grateful for that movie and the fans — the fans are growing up now, so it’s kind of like we’re all doing this together. What’s so crazy is that I think I’m so far removed from Twilight now that I can actually watch them and enjoy them.
