The Best Scenes from ‘The Twilight Saga’ Movies Thus Far

Posted October 9th, 2011 By: Evie 5 Comments »

Today Movies over at MSNBC is listing their top moment from each of the first three movies in The Twilight Saga. That means we get a best moment from Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. Here we have their clips from Twilight and New Moon. Does vampire baseball sound familiar? Enjoy it all below:

‘Twilight’

The prom, maybe? Are you kidding? VAMPIRE BASEBALL! They even have old-fashioned uniforms and striped socks, and they can play only in thunderstorms because the thunder hides the incredibly loud noise generated when they hit the ball at approximately eight jillion miles per hour. And once the Cullens suit up to toss the ol’ horsehide around, whoops, three uninvited vamps show up and start gunning for Bella. But in the meantime, VAMPIRE BASEBALL!

‘New Moon’
Oh, the Volturi. Forget Bella and Edward and Jacob. I would read an entire series of books just about them. Anyway, Edward thinks Bella is dead so he goes to Volterra, Italy, to reveal himself as a vampire in public, knowing the regal Volturi vamps will have to kill him then. So in the middle of an Italian square full of red-robed extras, he de-shirts, and Bella races across the square just in the nick of time to save him. Team Volturi!

Seriously, the first thing anyone thinks of when they think of The Twilight Saga movies… VAMPIRE BASEBALL! (Thank you Muse!)

Do you agree with their three top scenes from Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse? What do you think the top scenes will be from Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and Breaking Dawn - Part 2?

Muse to Begin Recording Sixth Album in September

Posted August 10th, 2011 By: Evie 2 Comments »

In a new interview, bassist Chris Wolstenholme of Muse told BBC Radio 1 that the band will begin recording their sixth album this September. Chris also went on to say that Muse has no intention of scaling back on their touring, and still love to play live. Read it all after the jump:

Muse will enter the studio to begin recording the follow-up to their 2009 fifth album ‘The Resistance’ in September. Bass player Chris Wolstenholme said that the trio will be heading straight in to the studio after they headline Reading And Leeds Festivals at the end of August.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1, the bassist said of the band’s recording plans: “September and October, that’s when we’re going to get into the studio to start writing the new album.” Wolstenholme also indicated that the band have no intention of scaling back on their live commitments in the future, despite having had a fairly quiet 2011 in terms of live dates.

He said:

We’re always going to be the kind of band that want to get out and play live. As the years go on there’s that temptation to cut the touring down less and less but we still love playing live. I can’t ever imagine we’ll be the kind of band that cut the touring down significantly.

Muse Win 2011 Ivor Novello Award and Plan for a New Album

Posted May 19th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

Muse have won another award, this time, winning at the 56th Ivor Novello Awards. Muse picked up a big win at the Awards for International Achievement. According to the organizers, the Ivor Novello Awards are designed to “celebrate honour and reward excellence in British music writing.” In addition, bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard chat about working on their new album and what we might expect. Read more below:

Drummer Dominic Howard and bassist Chris Wolstenholme spoke about the plan to NME at this afternoon’s (May 19) Ivor Novello Awards ceremony in London, where they won the International Achievement award.

After revealing that they were planning to put out the follow-up to 2009’s ‘The Resistance’ in 2012 Howard said that the album could mark a shift in style for the band. “Matt [Bellamy, frontman] showed me a few chords recently,” he said. “Who knows, it might be softer rock, but then it’s up to me and Chris to make it heavy again. A heavy rock lullaby! But I’m sure it will move forward in some way.”

Wolstenholme explained that the band had been jamming on the road ahead of sessions later this year. He added: “We’ve got Reading Festival [plus the Leeds Festival, with them set to headline both] in August and maybe a few weeks off after that. So September, October time we’ll get into the studio and start writing and working on the songs.”

Howard concluded: “It takes as long as it takes really, because you have to love it before you can just chuck it out there and into the real world. But definitely next year.”

Muse, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Stephenie Meyer on Forbes Celebrity 100

Posted May 19th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

The world’s most powerful celebrities for 2011 have been listed by Forbes and this year Muse, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Stephenie Meyer made the list. Muse are on top at #34, while Rob comes in at #53, Kristen at #63 and finally Stephenie Meyer at #90. The celebrities are ranked on their amount or exposure in money, tv/radio, press, social and web. Check it all out below:

#34 Muse

Though the British rockers’ first hit “Time Is Running Out” rocketed up the charts in 2003, the band is only now beginning to cash in on its music, grossing $76 million on 63 shows in the last year.

#53 Robert Pattinson

With the end of the Twilight franchise in sight, Pattinson is preparing himself for a post-vampire career. The romance Remember Me earned only $56 million but that?s not bad considering the film had a tiny budget of $16 million. Water for Elephants, costarring Reese Witherspoon, also performed decently at the box office proving that audiences are willing to accept Pattinson as more than an undead heartthrob.

#63 Kristen Stewart

Stewart’s non-Twilight career hasn’t been as successful as her costar Robert Pattinson’s so far. Her 2010 film The Runaways grossed only $4.6 million at the global box office. But the two-part Breaking Dawn should bring her enough money to play around with different roles while looking for her next big hit. Stewart is attached to one of two Snow White projects currently in development.

#90 Stephenie Meyer

Like Harry Potter creator JK Rowling, Stephenie Meyer had never published a piece of fiction before she wrote Twilight in 2003, at age 29. She has said the idea for the vampire love story came to her in a dream. The three Twilight films have grossed $1.8 billion at the global box office. Two more are on the way, as well as an adaption of her science fiction novel The Host starring Saiorse Ronan.

Muse to Headline Lollapalooza and Kanrocksas Music Festivals

Posted April 26th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

Exciting news for all the Muse fans out there! Muse are set to headline both Lollapalooza and the brand new music festival Kanrocksas this August. The only catch might be that they’re on the same weekend. Muse will be headlining Saturday night at Kanrocksas and their Lollapalooza time has yet to be announced. Also at Lollapalooza will be Cee Lo Green and Lykke Li, while The Black Keys are also headlining Kanrocksas. Check out more from Hitfix below:

Eminem and Muse will be pulling double-duty during the first weekend of August.

The rapper and British rock act are on slate to headline the very first Kanrocksas Music Festival, to be held at the Kansas Speedway over the weekend of Aug. 5 and 6. For those keeping at track at home, that’s the same weekend as Chicago’s yearly Lollapalooza bash, which also laid claim to the two acts just last night.

In one of only a handful of dates announced this year, Eminem will headline Lollapalooza 2011. Also taking the main stage at Chicago’s Grant Park for the Aug. 5-7 festival are Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Muse.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the first Lollapalooza, which existed as a multi-artist traveling festival started founded by Farrell and William Morris Agency in 1991. They pulled the plug on the traveling version, which was on hiatus from 1997-2003, for good after the 2004 edition was canceled because of poor ticket sales. The next year, in 2005, they resurrected the festival as an one-city, three-day event in Chicago. The brand is so strong that the team, which now also includes C3 Presents, bowed Lollapalooza Chile in Santiago in April.
