Mia Maestro Cast in Film Adaptation of ‘Some Girls’

Posted March 11th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

IndieWire has more good casting news for the Twi family of actors, this time for Denali Coven vampire, Carmen, as played by the lovely Mia Maestro. Mia is set to play one in a series of ex-girlfriends to a character who is searching out all of his exes on the night before his wedding, based on the play Some Girls. Read more below:

News of the film adaptation of Neil LaBute’s play, “Some Girls,” has been slim the past few months, with Kristen Bell coming on board a couple of days ago, and Adam Brody joining back in January, but recently a slew of impressive additions have emerged for the Jennifer Getzinger-directed film.

The plot follows Brody’s character, who on the eve of his wedding searches out his ex-girlfriends, all of whom are none too pleased for the surprise. According to THR, Emily Watson, the latest and final casting decision, plays one of the exes, Lindsay, while Zoe Kazan, Jennifer Morrison, and Mia Maestro play the other women. LaBute is producing the film with Leeden Media in addition to supplying the adapted script, so the final product is sure to retain his signature dialogue and witty characters.

Thanks Noor!

Congrats to Mia!

While I’m thrilled they’re throwing in a reference to the original Twilight with ‘Flightless Bird’, I have to admit I’m pretty bitterly disappointed that there’s no Muse. I definitely realize that they could still be included in Breaking Dawn - Part 2, but that’s really not helping me right now. I mean really? Breaking Dawn is dedicated to Muse. But I’ve never understood the obsession to have completely new music either, I’d take old Muse any day! I think the baseball scene in Twilight is still one of the most popular scenes in the entire Saga to this day, and Muse’s ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ was definitely not written for the movie. Ah well, I’ll wait to fully judge when I actually hear it, because it does still contain some awesome bands like The Joy Formidable.

Currently you can pre-order the soundtrack on Amazon here.
