‘Twilight’ Characters in ‘South Park’ Style

Posted October 7th, 2011 By: Evie 1 Comment »

In honor of the premiere for South Park’s 15th Season, NextMovie has created South Park characters for many well-loved movies. Included in the list is of course Twilight, with their take on Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as Bella, Edward and Jacob.

The show’s cutout animation may be simple, but Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny have become some of the most indelible characters in cartoon history.

So, naturally, we’ve always wondered how “South Park” creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker would have applied their signature style to some of our favorite movie icons. Our old mate Old Red Jalopy was up to the task.

See the full article at NextMovie here.

Definitely South Park. I’d love to see the South Park creators have fun with the Twilight characters.

What do you think of Twilight in South Park style?

Want to Own The View Point Inn from ‘Twilight’?

Posted September 30th, 2011 By: Evie 8 Comments »

Well actually owning The View Point Inn might be a bit of a stretch. Sadly, the historic Inn has now been officially abandoned after a huge fire destroyed part of the roof, and then the previous owners went through a bankruptcy process. Now most Twilighters will know that The View Point Inn is the background to the famous prom scene from Twilight. Now that Inn will be going up for auction, so get ready to bid! Read more below:

A local landmark has officially been abandoned. After a massive fire and a bankruptcy court ruling, a judge ruled the View Point Inn in Corbett will be abandoned.

The historic building caught fire back in July when embers from the chimney landed on the roof. The owners owed tens of thousands of dollars in back wages and penalties and had to file for bankruptcy.

‘Twilight’ Still in the Top Ten for Banned Books Week

Posted September 27th, 2011 By: Evie 5 Comments »

Some things just never change. The American Library Association (ALA) has once again put together their list of the top ten challenged books this year in honor of Banned Book Week. The ALA puts this list together to draw more attention to how harmful censorship of words and ideas is to our rights and freedoms. Banned Books Week is held to celebrate those First Amendment rights that protect us. Perhaps a bit surprisingly, Twilight still makes the top ten. Read more below:

For the past 29 years, the ALA and a handful of other organization representing librarians, journalists, book sellers and educators have dedicated the last week of September as Banned Books Week to celebrate our First Amendment rights to intellectual freedom and the right to read, while drawing attention to the harms of censorship.

This year, Banned Books Week kicked off on Sept. 24 and will wrap up on Saturday, Oct. 1.

According to the ALA , the following books are last year’s most challenged titles on book store shelves and in library catalogs:

10. “Twilight” by Stephenie Meyer. Reasons: Religious Viewpoint, Violence

Taylor Lautner Would Do ‘Twilight’ All Over Again

Posted September 23rd, 2011 By: Evie 1 Comment »

The OC Register has a nice little interview with Taylor Lautner where he of course discusses his new movie, Abduction, but also admits that if he had the choice to go back in time, he’d jump at the chance to do Twilight all over again. Read the interview after the jump:

Q. You were pretty young when you got “Twilight.” I’m wondering if you had a chance to do it all over again, would you take the blue pill? In other words, is the fame worth the loss of privacy?

A. I absolutely would do it again. I could not be more grateful to that franchise. It’s given all of us the opportunity to do other things. Frankly, I wouldn’t be doing “Abduction” if it weren’t for “Twilight.”

Q. It’s never a drag?

A. I wouldn’t call it a drag. There are pros and cons to everything. There are cons, like the paparazzi following you, but the cons are so minor compared to the pros.

Q. Are there any mixed feelings about having two more “Twilight” movies coming out while you’ve already moved on to another phase of your career?

A. I kind of love it. The three of us have been able to work on a “Twilight” movie and then work on something else in between, so we’re used to this. We go into “Twilight” mode, and then go out of “Twilight” mode.

Q. What is “Twilight” mode for you?

A. It’s just becoming Jacob Black. After five movies, it’s easy to get into his shoes.

Q. When you started the “Twilight” journey, did you imagine how big it might become?

A. We literally thought it was a small indie movie.

Aww, Taylor, such a sweetie.

Taylor Lautner Talks ‘Breaking Dawn’ at ‘Abduction’ Press Conference

Posted September 16th, 2011 By: Evie No Comments »

Collider is nice enough to be bringing us a full transcript of the press interview that Taylor Lautner took part in for Abduction, today after his big US permeire. Here Taylor chats a bit about what it was like to leave Twilight behind at the very end and the length of time he spent filming Breaking Dawn. Read more below:

Question: Do you ever get tired of the screams and the fainting girls?

TAYLOR LAUTNER: To be honest, no! I’m sure there may be moments, if I’m tired or something, or I’m just waking up, but not really. If that’s their way of showing their passion, then I will take it.

How difficult is it for you to let all of the Twilight stuff go, leaving the cast?

LAUTNER: It’s different. Whenever we would finish filming any of the other movies, we would be bummed, but we would know that it was just a matter of a few months before we would be back filming another one. So when we wrapped these last two, it was tough for us because we had been playing these characters for so long and spending so much time together for so long. It was a little emotional. But I mean the good news is, we will be able to promote them together for the next year and a half.

How was the last day of shooting?

LAUTNER: It was emotional, for sure. My last day of shooting, I was by myself, so that was kind of sad. But, my second to last day, I did a scene with me, Rob [Pattinson] and Kristen [Stewart].

How long was the shoot?

LAUTNER: Seven months because we filmed both parts together. It was five months in Baton Rouge, and then two months in Vancouver. It was a long time. It was like a 110-day shoot. At first, when I saw the schedule, I was like, “Woah, I am going to be tired, by the end of that.” But, it wasn’t that bad. We have a lot of fun with it and I enjoyed both of the cities we were in. It was a good time.

From birthday cake, to special postal stamp cancellations that highlight the vampire culture, Forks will have a little something for every Twilight fan. Read more below:

FORKS — A celebration of vampires and werewolves with a wedding shower, a birthday party, drag racing and a softball tournament thrown into the mix can happen only in Forks.

Just in case anyone forgot about Twilight, Forks’ annual Stephenie Meyer Day — which is actually three days of events beginning today — brings the best-selling vampire romance back into the forefront, as the residents of Forks celebrate fictional character Bella Swan’s Sept. 13 birthday.

To recognize her birthday, there will be a birthday party and cake at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Stephenie Meyer Day stage in the vendor area along Spartan Avenue, a block south of Forks Avenue, between A and D streets.

In the series of best-selling novels by Meyer — and the movies the books spawned — Bella, who would be 23 on Tuesday if she were real, moved to Forks as a high school junior and met Edward Cullen and his “family” of vampires.

Most of the events in the vampire romance series take place in Forks, LaPush or Port Angeles.
