Boston Daily Catches Up with Julia Jones

Posted February 17th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Boston Daily has a nice little look at Julia Jones where we get to hear a little bit from the actress about Breaking Dawn, not being recognized in Boston (which she likes), and a great look into her background. Read more below:

Julia Jones doesn’t get recognized much when she returns home to Boston, but it doesn’t bother her. “I could never live with the kind of fame that Rob and Kristen have. It’s crazy,” the 31-year-old actress said at a recent press event to promote the DVD release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.

If you haven’t seen any of the films in the Twilight series, you’re outnumbered by the millions of fans who can’t get enough of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner’s six-pack. In the final three films based on the bestsellers by Stephenie Meyer, Jones plays Leah Clearwater, the only female werewolf to join the wolf pack that hunts vampires. When I asked her to recall one of the toughest moments she had while filming the last two films in the Twilight saga, she refers to the time she was stuck in a Vancouver hotel for two weeks while the rest of the cast filmed the famed wedding scene with Bella and Edward. “It was just me and eight security guards, which was very depressing.” She finally wangled her way onto the set and says everyone was very teary when filming ended.

Christina Perri Sings “A Thousand Years” on ‘Live with Kelly’

Posted February 15th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

What could be more appropriate for Valentine’s Day than a live version of Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’ from Breaking Dawn - Part 1? Yesterday, just in time for the big day of love, Christina Perri made an appearance on ‘Live with Kelly’ where she sang her infamous song. Enjoy Christina singing ‘A Thousand Years’ below:

The singer-songwriter stops by Live! to perform her hit song “A Thousand Years” from the original motion picture soundtrack ”The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part1″

I always love it when artists perform their songs for live audiences. Whether it’s an actual concert or just an appearance on a show like this, it always seems to be better live.

What did you think of Christina’s appearance on ‘Live with Kelly’? Did you enjoy ‘A Thousand Years’ live?

Casey LaBow Describes Auditioning for Kate in ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 2′

Posted February 15th, 2012 By: Evie No Comments »

Just yesterday we had a great interview from Casey LaBow, and today we have another wherein Casey is interviewed by the Daily Actor. Here Casey goes into more detail on her character Kate and she gives us amazing insight into what the audition process for Breaking Dawn - Part 2 was really like for her. Read more below:

Tell me about your audition.

Casey LaBow: You mean the 5 of them?

Sure, I’ll just sit back and listen.

Casey LaBow: Get comfortable. It took 3 months of them bringing me in and out. Come in with straight hair, here’s some different lines, we need to see it again, can you do this? And I was pulling my hair out. I was going to quit actually. I had come to the consensus at a certain point that, as I was crying on the floor of my shower, that I was not equipped for this kind of pressure. That I was just going to throw in the towel if I didn’t get the job. And I got it.

After the first audition, were you like, “This is awesome. I think I did great.” Why did they keep on calling you back?

Casey LaBow: You know, I think there were so many people that needed to get in line on the decision. The director, the writer, the producers. All these people that had to come together and agree. For whatever reason, initially there was some resistance for me. But I believe, I think it was Bill Condon the director who really responded to me right away and fought for me.

That’s a good person to have fight for you.

Casey LaBow: It sure is. I mean, I think. I don’t know for a fact, I didn’t ask him. But I will tell you this, the very first day that I got on set – the entire audition process was video so I only read with casting. I never read for producers, I never read for the director. It was all video.

Does that make it easier?

Casey LaBow: You know what? It did and it didn’t. There was aspects of it. Like, “Maybe if they see me…” But anyway, the first day I got on set and I finally met Bill, the first thing he said to me was, “I’m so sorry.”

Your character has these powers. When you’re auditioning and you see the sides and it reads, ‘Kate has to do’ something with her powers. What did you to to get that across?

Casey LaBow: In the audition, the scenes were fake so there was none of that. And because everything was so secret they had you come in and they didn’t tell you which character you were reading for. They said you were one of the sisters or one of these sisters and they kind of gave you some brief light/vague description of what you were doing but I didn’t do any of the magical power stuff in the audition. I just did that on the day.

Casey LaBow Talks ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and 2′

Posted February 14th, 2012 By: Evie 1 Comment »

The beautiful Casey LaBow was out doing some interviews in support of Breaking Dawn - Part 1 on DVD when About.com caught up with her. Here Casey chats about what she did to prepare for the role of Kate, her vampire superpower and what it was like to be on the Breaking Dawn set. Read more below:

What was your first reaction upon seeing yourself in costume as Kate?

Casey LaBow: “I got so excited. I got so excited and I was so bummed about the fact that we couldn’t take any pictures! I wanted to show my friends but we couldn’t.”

So, how much more are we going to see of Kate in Breaking Dawn Part 2? She’s an integral player in the book.

Casey LaBow: “Yes. I can’t say much. [Laughing] She’s all up in that situation. Let me say this, I think that the fans will happy.”

The wedding scene was one of the most anticipated scenes of the whole franchise. What was it like being on that set?

Casey LaBow: “Surreal. It was insane. It was the last thing we shot of the entire production, and so there’s a lot of emotion going on because for everybody it was coming to the end. It was a close of the whole thing. None of us were allowed to see Kristen in the dress until the moment. So all of those reactions are actual reactions to it. There were a lot of reasons behind that.”

What did you think of the dress?

Casey LaBow: “Beautiful. Gorgeous. I was not expecting that because Alice had a hand in it. I was expecting a little bit more fluff.”

Did you do anything extra for the DVD release?

Casey LaBow: “On this DVD there’s audio commentary from Bill Condon, there’s some stuff for the Team Edwards and Team Jacobs of the world, and some behind the scenes footage. And there’s a wedding video where everybody who was at the wedding got to say a few words, like a real wedding.”

Was that scripted?

Casey LaBow: “No, we came up with it on our own.”

Without giving anything away, how would you sum up Breaking Dawn - Part 2?

Casey LaBow: “Without giving any spoilers away…a whole lot of new vampires.”
