MyAnna Buring Discusses the Tanya - Edward Dynamic in ‘Breaking Dawn’

Posted March 15th, 2012 By: Evie 4 Comments »

Glamour has a brand new interview with the gorgeous MyAnna Buring, who plays Tanya from the Denali Coven in both Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and Part 2. Here MyAnna gives us some insight into the relationship (or lack of!) between Tanya and Edward, why the character of Tanya appealed to her, and being a part of the Twilight family. Check it all out below:

What appealed to you about the role of Tanya?

I was a big fan of the Twilight books, and also Bill Condon. So when Bill and Stephenie Meyers wanted me to play Tanya it was a chance to work with two people whose work I love. On top of that I loved the idea of playing a vampire, and to be one of the new characters introduced in the final Twilight Saga installments.

Your relationship with Edward Cullen is quite complicated. How did you get that to come across in Breaking Dawn?

Well Tanya has always held a torch for Edward, which sadly for her is a feeling that has never been reciprocated. To go into the details of that story was impossible in Breaking Dawn - as it is a separate story and we simply didn’t have the time to incorporate it. So it just functioned as information and history for me playing Tanya. As she never displayed any jealous behaviour towards Edward and Bella’s union in the books, Bill and I decided that she had the experience and the grace to let go of the things she could not change. We did however shoot a scene where she teased and joked with Edward about being jealous that he’d tied the knot. But it had to be cut because it was too long.

Thanks Noor!

Are you sad that that particular scene with Edward and Tanya had to be cut from Breaking Dawn - Part 1?

MTV caught up with Dakota Fanning at Cosmo’s recent “Fun Fearless Awards” and managed to get in a few questions. Here Dakota chats about what it’s like to be done with The Twilight Saga and being excited to see some footage from the greatly anticipated Breaking Dawn - Part 2. Check out the video below:

When we caught up with Dakota recently, she admitted that it’s a pretty bittersweet time for the “Twilight Saga” stars. “I mean, I’m excited to see the last installment,” she said. “And I know it’s sad for the fans and sad for the cast. It’s been such a journey, but I’ve been really fortunate to be a part of it, so I’m grateful for the time I got to be in the films and work with those people.”

With so many I-Can’t-Wait-For-It moments left in the final film, Dakota joked that she’s most excited to see herself. “Jane, of course!” she said with a laugh, adding more seriously, “I’m excited to kind of see how [director] Bill Condon wraps it all up. No, I haven’t [seen any footage yet, so it’s] a surprise for me too.”

New Still of the Denali Clan from the ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 1′ Wedding

Posted March 11th, 2012 By: Evie 2 Comments »

A brand new still from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 has surfaced, showing the three beautiful blonde sisters from the Denali Coven. The picture highlights not only those gorgeous vampires from Alaska, but it also does a nice job of highlighting the amazing dresses that they wore for the wedding. So without further adieu, here we have Casey LaBow as Kate, Maggie Grace as Irina, and MyAnna Buring as Tanya:

These three sisters were so brilliantly cast. I really feel like the Denali Clan came to life in Breaking Dawn - Part 1. We really heard a lot about Tanya, and MyAnna definitely made her live up to her fame! I love their wedding dresses in this still, they are all so complementary to each other, it’s perfect.

What do you think of this picture from Breaking Dawn - Part 1? Do you like the wedding dresses on Kate, Irina and Tanya?

Paul McDonald Hoping for Inclusion on the ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 2′ Soundtrack

Posted March 7th, 2012 By: Evie 2 Comments »

Just yesterday I shared the brand new music video from Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald, and now thanks to MTV’s chat with Nikki and Paul, there’s a little more information on Paul’s future songwriting plans. It turns out that Paul is in the early stages of submitting a song to be considered for inclusion on the soundtrack for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. Read it all below:

While “Twilight” star Reed didn’t necessarily see the sweet ditty ending up on the “Breaking Dawn - Part 2″ soundtrack, she did reveal that husband McDonald is in the early stages of submitting a song for potential inclusion in the saga’s final installment.

“Paul has been speaking with them about potentially attempting to write something,” Reed said. “Nothing is set in stone. He will be working on songs to submit. It would be a great, great thing. The music supervisor [Alexandra Patsavas] on that, as well as [director] Bill Condon, have great taste.”

“It’s very preliminary,” McDonald confirmed. “It’s kind of one of those things. I write all the time.”

Over the past four years, the “Twilight Saga” soundtracks have gained a reputation for catapulting artists to new heights, with acts like Paramore, Christina Perri and Joy Formidable all benefiting from their confab with the Cullen clan. And as the former “American Idol” contestant looks to join that auspicious group, he’s beginning by doing his homework.

“I watched some of the movies the other day,” he said. “I hadn’t gotten around to watching all of them, so I’m getting familiar with the story lines.”

“He’s trying to say he wasn’t a Twi-hard before knowing me,” Reed teased.

Included in his prep work will likely be an artist’s screening of “Breaking Dawn - Part 2,” which doesn’t hit theaters until November 16. In the meantime, McDonald is working on his album, which he expects to drop early this fall.
